I genuinely thought the game was great-- voice acting, customization, level design, story.. but I think maybe Armored Core isn't for me. The main problem I had with the combat was the camera. I was always looking above me, below me, and all around whilst fighting what seemed to be flying wasp pests. It started to annoy me and I just wasn't a fan.

I still would recommend this game to anyone who thinks they'll like it after watching some gameplay, though. I bought this on a whim during the release with no prior research. It what it is.

An Incredible action game with a grounded story as a lone mercenary, insane customization for the mechs themselves, gorgeous set pieces, an insane amount of options for weapons and some of the most edge of your seat exciting boss fights ever.

I went in as an Armored Core newbie and skeptic but came out with one of the best action games ever.

This game was very different from FromSoftware's other games but it was very enjoyable. I actually didn't mind the mission based gameplay but there were a few times it was tedious to complete a super quick mission and then have to go through the loading screen. Also, the story was a bit confusing with the different sides, etc. Overall, the game was super fun and the boss fights were awesome as always, I do wish there were a few "bigger" bosses throughout the game. I definitely may replay this game in the future.

Armored Core VI is an excellent game, though it has its flaws. The auto-aim system works better when you don't even move the mouse, and the gank boss fights feel like artificial difficulty. Despite these issues, it's another masterpiece by FromSoftware.

I really appreciate the multiple endings, which make the game last longer and significantly enhance replayability. With different choices, there are many varied missions to experience. The customization of the mecha is fantastic, adding depth to the gameplay. If you enjoy multiplayer, it can greatly enhance your experience, adding many hours of enjoyment. The multiplayer itself is well-designed and can significantly extend the game's longevity.

This game has the funnest action combat out of all the games I've played. Seriously, you can just play the game for the combat alone and it will be worth it. My only minor gripe is that the lock-on isn't as visible as I'd like.
A large chunk of the game is customizing your AC's armaments and construction. The game encourages you to explore and find what works best for you. Personally, I played with a mid-weight AC with a lazer rifle in my first playthrough. The second playthrough I played with a lightweight AC with two machine guns and beam turrets. Playing a lightweight AC is really fun, so I would encourage building a light AC. If you love mecha you'll love customizing your AC, and I think the game has pretty flexible customization. I don't think the cosmetic customization is as good as Xenoblade Chronicles X's skell customization, but it was enough for what I wanted.
There are pretty large difficulty spikes in this game. In my first playthrough, I was able to win every fight relatively easily without much experimentation until the Cel 240 boss. With a little bit of experimentation, I learned one very important thing about combat; that you should exploit the stagger mechanic as much as possible. Weapons that can stagger enemies quickly and reliably like miniguns trivialize the game. I beat Cel 240, the final boss of the first route, and the final boss of the third route after switching to 4 miniguns.
The music for this game is fine, I didn't notice any tracks that stood out except for the snippet that plays during Steel Haze Ortris' entrance. The graphics look really good, and I didn't have trouble running the game at 60fps, 1440p at high graphics on my Radeon 5700xt.
The story is told in a pretty unique way. There are very little cutscenes and most of the story is told through mission briefings and the outcome of the mission itself. It's definitely not common to see stories told in such a way, but it is kind of fitting, and I didn't dislike it.

high 7/10. if the gameplay was a bit more engaging and there was even more NG+ unique content this could have been a 9/10. as it stands, the gameplay is a little too easy and lacking in depth. spam all your attacks, quick boost when you hear ding ding, and fly to dodge everything else. This is double unfortunate since it means you don't have to experiment with different load outs much or change builds to suit a mission. that being said the gameplay is very satisfying and fast paced enough that I didn't get bored playing though it 3 times to get all endings/missions.

Maybe there would be more depth and fun if I went for s rank. I kinda doubt it based on the missions i already got s rank on but who knows. Regardless after beating the game 3 times in a week I need to take a break.

A great action game. The gameplay is wonderful, the graphics are very nice, and the soundtrack is good but not particularly outstanding. However, the story didn't fully convince me. The fact that it's only conveyed through transmissions and sometimes logs, the absence of any human characters in person, and the inability to empathize with anyone make it quite weak (even by From Software's standard of minimal storytelling where the player discovers the narrative). Nevertheless, the game is so much fun to play that, in this case, it doesn't overshadow the overall product.

Like any FromSoft title, early boss battles are rough as you're fighting with junk, but you and your mech will get better.

Struggled with the first and second bosses and although it was frustrating at times it was worth the effort to persist and learn the patterns. Balteus' attacks are digital art, plain and simple.

The enjoyment factor kicked into high gear after leveling my mech to a certain point. Missions were well-paced and not exceedingly long or drawn out. Had access to infinite customizations but it's not required to swap builds every mission -- a major win. 2x assault rifles and 2x shoulder plasma cannons got the job done 90% of the time.

Replays for all the endings were worth the time and effort.

Graphics, gameplay, sound, and voice acting are all top-notch.

Only major gripe is the ranking system. All you get for 100% S-ranks is a PlayStation trophy and a decal. Was hoping for bonus missions/content for the effort but was left sorely disappointed.

Skip the letter ranks and enjoy the missions. This was my first AC and I'd definitely play another in the series for more. Elden Ring money paid for a fine game here.

Armoured Core VI is a masterpiece in the mecha genre with a story following FromSoft's identity of being in the background of the game but having lots of depth when looked into. While this is my first game, it was a great entry into the Armoured Core franchise, it provided a fun, chaotic but elegant playstyle. Mastery in this game is key but gives lots of room for failure that if you go back to S rank missions, you'll be far different to the first playthrough of the mission not just in terms of better equipment but also your skill. Not only do you need to master the gameplay but also building the right mech for the right mission. You can get away with 1 build for most missions but S ranking all with just one build would be impossible.

The game is hard but rewards mastery of the game like other FromSofts games. I didn't find it impossible as I played Elden Ring previously but was challenging at times, especially on the first playthrough. The hardest boss for me was the True Ending's final boss which took me about 2 hours to complete but the hardest mission was getting S rank on "Attack the refueling base" as there was very little leniency for that mission. Took me three hours as you practically needed the optimal build and route for it that I had to look up on YouTube for help :3

I highly recommend AC6 to anyone into mecha, building the right builds for the situations and fast action gameplay!

A solid faced paced action game. While challenging, the difficulty can be overcome by properly equipping yourself for the task at hand. One complaint of this is that in order to purchase new weapons and gear, you have to quit out of a mission to buy it, then start over, which honestly isn't the worst as most missions are like 30 minutes top. Great amounts of customization that truly let your mech feel and play different, plus they give you a solid testing arena to try out your loadout against different enemy types. They've written the story to be accommodating for first time AC players, such as myself, as I didn't feel a lack of knowledge or understanding of the story, so that's also a plus.

The nostalgia is intense. AC was one of the first games I played on the PS1. Besides that, it's also a very nice game with your typical Fromsoft polish. Didn't really care for S-ranking all the missions, or PVP. But it's been a while since I've gotten all endings and I'm still playing—building mechs is like 80% of the satisfaction for me.

It was alotta fun and I loved how hard all the bosses were. I also liked how many dif mechs you could build. You can make so many cool ones. A very memorable experience and one that il never forget! May repeat it again to get the different ending.

(I chose to burn and exterminate the coral energy in the end so it could be gone forever and have no risk of destroying everything in space) I also heard there’s some secret endings or something where you can fight the AllMind AI that has went rogue and is trying to take over the world or something? Rlly hope that last part is true haha

Really hoping for an expansion or dlc sometime this year(2024)

+Fast pace action which a lot of directional control
+Wide range of customization and rewarding system that rewards multiple builds
+Large array of customized mechs to fight in the game which some excellent bosses
-Camera can be your worst enemy in this game
-Lack of variety in standard enemies
-Mission ranking can only be rewarded in the Replay mission area
Overview:
Armoured Core VI is a fast paced mech shooter which heavily rewards customizing mech builds and have multiple builds for different situations. It also uses these customiazablity to throw different types of mechs to fight against you and offer fun and excellent duels. This is enhance with a series of unique and powerful bosses devised in all of the chapters with a good amount of variety in the mission types you need to face. It however is hampered by a few issues mainly with the camera sometimes not following the enemy even in lock on when facing fast enemies, a lack in variety in the smaller grunt fights and an annoying lack of mission ranking outside of replay mission mode where if you aim for all 3 endings means you need a separate 4th if you want to plat the game. It feels just like an arbitrary way of increasing the replay value of the game.

My one and only real complaint is how unbalanced combat initially was. In a series fundamentally built around carefully perfecting your Armored Cores for the job, the entire game is pretty easily steamrollable with a few weapons and unnecessarily difficult with others.

I hadn't realized it at the time because I wasn't paying attention to the community (to avoid spoilers), but I stumbled across the most broken weapons in the game: dual Zimmermans (Zimmermen)? In an attempt to rise to the occasion, I needed weapons with greater stagger and came across the Zimmerman shotgun. It worked well, so I tried two, which worked even better. There was genuinely never a need to switch, so I didn't. I messed around here and there, but I figured if you were meant to perfectly optimize your build, why not use the best option? I wish I didn't though and messed around a bit more, because I think ignoring certain weapons would have made for a more interesting playthrough.

Anyways, the game is super fun. The characters were all very compelling, story's interesting, final boss on one of the endings is kind of dog though (out of all the characters they had to use the biggest loser, unbelievable). Music accompanied the scene perfectly, although it's unfortunately not as satisfying to listen to on its own as FromSoft's other games. The platinum was really fun and felt rewarding in a way FromSoft's other games are not, as playing more unlocked more rather than presenting us with the same scenario each and every time. That sort of mechanic could be fleshed out even further though, and I hope it's something they consider in the future. I adore the quick pace of the action, it's ridiculously satisfying. I can't wait for the expansion, I don't want to have to wait for an Armored Core VII (who knows when that'll happen? lolol)

It's a good game with a lot of replay value. But I also had a lot of issues. Because of tiny subtitles, which were also at the top of the screen, I didn't follow the story. After some chapters you have to decide which route to go. There was a tiny symbol indicating that a mission decides the path. I simply didn't see it. So I was on a route I really didn't like. Though it was salvageable. The numbers game is a core gameplay mechanic. So if you don't like crunching them stay away. Lastly I cramped up a lot because of the controller layout which started to hurt my wrist (chronic injury). So right at the last boss I gave up. I know it's literally the last enemy but it's just too much for me. The game is still absolutely stunning and an amazing Armored Core entry. I can recommend it to every mecha fan.

My first Armored Core game, and a great one at that. Started playing For Answer in-between finishing AC6, so I have some perspective into what could and couldn't have been different in this latest title.
Easy point out of the way immediately, the combat is kind of rad. It takes concepts proven by older games and slaps on a defined stance-break system and hard lock-ons. Some more diehard fans disapproved of the inclusion, but the reality is that every newer AC game has had varying combat styles, so some Souls-ification isn't that bad. It's still distinctly mech combat; for example, eating a full-power railgun blast because you sloppily dodged in the same trajectory that the enemy's guidance system predicted.
The sound design is so over the top and so, so good. Ratcheting steel as your weapons load new shells, or the howling of energy weapons, some of which almost sounds like screaming (probably on purpose for coral weapons).
The soundtrack choice is a kind of ambient techno, which is tone-accurate, but extremely safe. I went through it afterwards and couldn't even remember where some tracks played. I prefer the way the orchestral and japanese garage-rock tracks of For Answer added to the spectacle and mood of fighting. REALLY sad departure.
The only thing that really left a sour taste in my mouth is how much trouble I had with two types of challenges: the use of one-on-multiple fights, because of how much it neuters where I can go and when I can shoot, and giant-laser-lightspeed-acrobatics attacks, because they are thrown at you very late into a fight and only sometimes... which makes them a complete pain to even attempt wiggling around.

Great AC entry, proves there is still a market for mecha games, and that Fromsoftware hasn't turned into a one-trick pony.

Meu segundo Armored Core.

I initially struggled to get to grips with armored core 6. It's a style of game I am not used to and I found the game difficult in the early chapters. But, as I continued to to play through the story chapters, I came to realize that FromSoftware have built another incredible combat system with this game. Combat is fluid and fast. The mech assembly is incredibly addictive and diverse, with many weapons and armor pieces to choose from, and building your own custom mechs is so fun. Build variety is absolutely key and trying out different styles of mechs with different weapons was really good fun. The missions themselves are usually quite short and fast paced and sometimes climax with an exciting boss to fight. For the most part, the bosses are well designed, often challenging encounters.

The thing that surprised me most about this game however, was the story. I wasn't expecting much from the narrative, but the characters in this game are really diverse and interesting. Their motivations are sometimes hidden or can sometimes change based on your encounters with them. Huge props to the voice actors, I thought they all gave incredible performances.

There are a handful of missions and bosses that I found to be frustrating by design, but otherwise I had a blast and I look forward to going back and playing through to get the other endings in the future. 9/10.
