Feels like the studio tried really hard to have a full circle of abilities even though you actually will only use 4-5 of them. Just more than you can set as your actions that it was annoying to have to keep switching.Other than these design annoyances, really enjoyed the platform and the challenges, frustrating as some of them may be, when some abilities just didn't take hold for some unknown reason. Definitely have a lot of callbacks to Hollow Knight though.
Story was there, but not anything I would say is engrossing.

Massive improvement over the first Ori game, gorgeous as ever, and more Hollow Knight than ever, yet still not Hollow KnightThe movement feels great, but I wish it git pushed to the extreme since there's no really hard platforming challenge. The combat is better but still only okay, and idk how to put it but it feels a bit imprecise? That's fine though since Ori is more of an art game than game game
The presentation is the best part of the series and I think I'd only think this game was very good without it, but you can't deny how incredible it looks

Really enjoyed the game. The art style is unmatched and the gameplay feels snappy and smooth. Combat also feels great. The only complaint I have is the crazy amount of mechanics the game has in the end. Kind of confused me in some parts of the game since I forgot about certain abilities I learned early on which had to be used during the end of the game.Updated 3.5 Months Ago

+Well designed Metroidvania world+Great mix of bosses and chases at the end of sections
+Excellent gameplay and feel throughout
-Doesn’t do much different from the original
-New character is not utilized enough
Overview: Ori and the will of the wisps is an excellently made sequel to Blind forest with a new well built world and great mix of bosses and chases in the main sections of the game. It however doesn’t do much new from the original and fails to properly utilize a new character added to the game which is only playable in two sections. I still recommend the game especially for those who enjoyed the original and it still an incredibly well designed game worth a play through.

I initially downloaded it because I thought my wife would enjoy it. After watching her play for an hour I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. This is a perfect video game. The movement and combat is buttery smooth, the metroidvania style unlocks makes the world feel massive, and its so satisfying moving through this world as you unlock traversal abilities. The combat was okay, but nothing I wouldn't recommend. The story was simple but beautiful, and every character including the antagonist had a villain.
My wife finished this before I did, and I started it but never finished. After playing Moon Studios new game (No Rest for the Wicked), I knew I had to come back and finish. I actually just started all over again so I could remember what I had unlocked and I'm glad I did. I 100% this game and it was worth every minute.

First off, I think this has better gameplay than the first game and has a lot going for it in that aspect. However, I would say the first game was better performance-wise (at least on the Switch). The game crashed on me three times, multiple instances where loading areas couldn't keep up with my movement so I would get stuck on invisible walls for like half a minute, and a glitch I had run into during the Baur's Reach area where I had to exit the game in order to get it to function properly.Updated 4 Months Ago

Really satisfying. Ori and friends are cute. Ending sacrifice was surprising - I thought the main antagonist bird would swoop in to take my place but no. End game super mobility was extremely satisfying going back to clean up missed things - especially the final boost jump ability.Played with Xbox controller. Elite died.

Much better than the first game gameplay wise. The combat was actually fun this time around and the platforming was more memorable. To say a negative, the platforming does seem to focus more on making the player feel good over anything else. Given there is basically no limitations to Ori's movement. The problem I have is that it's like every other 2D platformer at that point. It's more of the same. Like the first game, the last level is very plaforming focused and it doesn't really hit that balance between combat and platforming like the rest of the game. It's not a big deal though. Whether the story is better, is going to be dependant on the person. It is way more depressing this time around and the ending is very bittersweet. Perhaps veering into that realm of sadness for the sake of it. Music, visuals, etc all top notch.Updated 4 Months Ago

Um dos melhores metroidvanias já feitos, no mesmo patamar de Castlevania: Symphony of The Night, Super Metroid e Hollow Knight.Joguei o início de Ori and The Blind Forrest e desisti.

I never completed Ori and the blind forest on the switch. This was more because I was impatient. I did not want to start over on the Steam deck so I started with Will of the Wisps. The flow of the game is so so good. It all feels so natural. I found it challenging at some points, but never frustrating. The save points are spot on. The music and graphics are stunning and the gameplay is fun. I found all the upgrades a bit to much, I felt you could easily do without a bunch of them. The story was a bit Disney like, not in a bad way. It fitted the game. The length was perfect.Updated 5 Months Ago

An improvement on the original in every way other than performance. It looked and sounded wonderful, felt great to play and posed a decent challenge until upgrades left me overpowered. I didn't use many of the upgrades, but since most of them came through naturally exploring I don't think there were too many collectibles. I didn't bother grinding for spirit light to fully upgrade my skills.Regarding performance: Putting my Switch in Airplane Mode fixed the multi-minute hangs that seemed to occur when signal was very low, but there were many times when I was racing ahead of the game loading new areas, which led to me getting stuck in walls a few times. A pity.

Updated 6.5 Months Ago

Great metroidvania but was getting a bit too annoying towards the end in terms of having to make perfect moves in a row or you get insta killed….thankfully they do a ton of auto saving (at least in normal difficulty)…. It’s a charming game (and looks beautiful on Steam Deck), but towards the end I was already bored of it and just wanted it to end

The game was good, the movement in the game is really great. The experience was a bit frustrating in the beginning, this is because I went straight from the first game to the second. So I missed all my upgrades in the begining. The story was okay and the game looks amazingUpdated 7 Months Ago

I am disappointed...Everything that was well-designed in the first one appears here much flatter, bland and simple and at times to add difficulty to a game which almost never presents any, there are only absurd solutions which suddenly require absolute mastery of mechanics that the game has never pushed to this point (special mention to the last part of the end boss which is an abomination never to be repeated).
It remains a magnificent game both for the quality of its graphics and its music and for the touching story of the characters with an open conclusion to this diptych, but I remain unsatisfied as the first one gave me more.

A really great metroidvania with a heavier focus on melee combat compared to the first game. An absolutely gorgeous game. I played this in HDR on the Steam Deck OLED and it was breathtaking throughout. What stood out the most for me were the art style, the music, the smoothness of Ori’s movement, and the although the story was light, it was very emotional. I’m not ashamed to say I shed a tear. It’s more of an open level platformer than a Metroidvania I’d say, but that’s all semantics. Ori was a joyful experience.

The most beautiful game I've ever played. The lighting, details, colorful backgrounds and playing with the z-axis (having background details in the foreground) results in a truly jaw-dropping aesthetic. All around rock-solid design. Tight controls, very responsive and fun movement with many options and smart puzzles and interactions to progress.
The combat, while not super deep, was fun. The boss battles were a welcome addition to add some variation.
The story was very similar to the first one. The ending was really nice here though, and there was even a good plot twist at the end!
This is my new fav platformer over Celeste. I'm not even sure how much better it is compared to Ori 1, maybe I just appreciated this more.
Edit 14/1: Playing post-game stuff. The hub area, characters and setting are super charming and very cute! Exploring all the areas and finding collectibles is super fun too.
