It was good fun. A bit on the easy side, especially when you max the Hairspray Bomb. Your mission is to go fast and make the enemies burst. There are loads of inventive weapons, and it's ok if you power through with only a few. Challenges were fun and it was nice you didn't have to gold every single one. Leaderboards for bragging rights. Collectibles were easy with all the maps you can buy. Farming the last few weapon upgrades was also easy with an infinite spawn trigger in one of the missions you can replay. All the grinding on telephone wires made me think of Infamous!

Pros: funny, casual, and smooth. The movement in this game is what is all about and the game is perfectly designed around it. The map and combat are catered to how you move and it never gets old. Great customization, good story with interesting and wacky characters. I had fun the whole way. If you’re a fan one Saints Row, this is the perfect game for you

Cons: only a few weapons are actuallly worth anything in the game. They’re cool, but sometimes a big difficult to use. With that, there is nothing to progress towards. And the story is good, but not good enough to make you want to play the whole way. If it weren’t for the amazing and unique gameplay, this could’ve been a very easy game to put down.

Overview:
Sunset Overdrive is a game with a great base but with a poor structure. It has some of the best traversal methods in an open world game I have played. Where you bounce and grind across the world with relative ease. This traversal is then brought into the combat and it rewards you for constantly moving and grinding. Some of the arenas however feel a bit limited but overall the combat is excellent presented and it is fun to play once you get into it. It unfortunately surrounds it’s base with some bad design choices which hampers the game. In the end the game tries to be funny with an indifferent main character but he just comes off as flippant and annoying. The humour is also based on referencing and none these references are out of date so it doesn’t land. It tries a lot of meta humour which feels more like an easy out for certain plot points. It is not helped that the quest design falls into the three annoying types of quests: fetch, escort and tower defence. I wish I liked Sunset overdrive with it’s excellent combat and traversal but found it hampered by it’s poor story and quest designed

Superhero fantasy. Loved jumping, zooming, grinding around the city. Felt so agile and heroic. Loved the main character - funny and chill. Story is crazy but good. Writing is hilarious, even when jokes not funny, the atmosphere is great. Npcs are quirky and interesting. Enjoyed collecting around the city - relaxing. Did all the challenges, some were tough, but extremely satisfying, and fair. Enjoyed upgrading weapons, and experimenting with upgrades. Deployables were OP, especially the heli-gun bot, made many challenges trivial.

- Ambientação: Se passa em Sunset City e toda a cidade além de bem colorida, é totalmente voltada com plataformas, objetos para se fazer manobras, atirar e bater em inimigos;
- Gráficos: São bonitos, possuindo um estilo de arte puxado para o cartoonesco em que as cores são demasiadamente vibrantes e com uma mistura delas bem grande, isso se devendo por causa do tema do jogo;
- Missões: A gama de objetivos das missões até que varia bem, sendo algumas de resgatar itens ou pessoas, outras de eliminar certo grupo e de defender a base. Porém a gameplay não muda muito, com exceção das missões com o aeroplano;
- Progressão: É bem explanada com algumas horas de game, e utilizam o sistema de quanto mais se obtém dinheiro e overcharge outra moeda de troca. Sempre há uma narração para orientar novas habilidades, amps, objetivos e missões;
- Combate: Podemos atingir nossos inimigos das formas mais variadas possíveis, atirando, batendo com o porrete, rolando e pulando;
- Gameplay: É excelente, sem dúvida a parte mais bem trabalhada do jogo, sendo ele uma espécie de Tony Hawk's de tiro e beat'em up. Têm uma movimentação super fluída com uma cidade que é feita para ter uma gameplay dinâmica de deslizar em corrimão, pular e andar pela parede;
- Customização: Consegue entregar bastante opção para customizar o corpo do personagem e suas roupas de cima até em baixo;
- Armas: Tem uma variedade bem legal de armas com efeitos bem diversificados e de bastões.

Pontos negativos:

- História: É bem bobinha, tudo é feito para somente justificar a gameplay e exploração da cidade, não necessariamente é ruim pois não é o foco. Um ou outro diálogo é legal e pelo menos conforme vai se desenrolando as cutscenes, o próprio personagem quebra a 4ª parede e admite conveniências do roteiro;
- Bug de save: Há um bug na versão de PC que aparece como arquivo corrompido, mesmo o jogo seja aberto pela primeira vez, além de que, já ocorreu de corromper um save, que por sorte eu tinha backup;
- Recompensas: Após você matar certos inimigos você ganha recompensas como dinheiro ou Overcharge, e ambos são em baixíssima quantidade ganha, se formos comparar aos preços das roupas ou armas respectivamente, mesmo depois de 36 horas não é possível comprar todas as armas do jogo;
- Robô sniper: O robô da Fizzco que tem mira laser e sniper é quebrada, a mira te segue cravado mesmo você dando dash ou rolada.

Much of Sunset Overdrive's humor didn't land for me, but what Sunset Overdrive does well is showcase how excellent Insomniac is at making fun action titles. Perhaps the most underrated game from Insomniac's catalog, Sunset Overdrive's colorful and enjoyable design makes it a fun romp that many should take the plunge into at some point or another. Not many games have personality like this one does, and sometimes you really need a palette cleanser in the midst of many other grounded, more serious experiences. If the humor landed, I think I'd enjoy it much more, but it's attempts only come across as cheesy or just straight-up cringy (hate using that word, but it's apt) at times. It also doesn't do anything remarkable either, and it really only succeeds at being a fun video game to play, which I can appreciate.

Pure utter fun!!! The sliding and movement mechanics are so unique and fun, that going from one place to another is something you'll fall in love with. The humor is meant to be heard. It goes crazy and over the top, but it works on most levels. I loved the funny respawn animations and how they make fun of some of the game trends while doing them. The combat works so well too. Sadly, I didn't get to try out all the weapons by the end of the game cause Overcharge is surprisingly hard to come by (in a world overrun by it, LOL). Just don't stay on the ground. Play the game for a different experience.

PROS:
- Unique and fun movement and traversal that keeps you wanting more!
- Pretty funny humor which also talked about the game being a game, LOL (based on preference)
- Great gun play with twists from AMPS, and Overdrives

CONS:
- Some in game clothes don't look as nice (the pants are too big for the girl character I was playing as) (based on preference)

I can't believe I just installed this game on my PC and never touched it for like 4 years. This is the game where I can turn off my mind and just play. This game is all about the weapons and most of them are entertaining. Too bad there's no dubstep gun like in saints row IV. that was the best gun invented in gaming for me. Not sure if there is no dubstep gun though I just finished the main story and the two DLC. The game had some technical problems here and there like the subtitles from the previous conversation is overlapping with the current one, sometimes music is not playing but nothing game breaking. I would love a sequel but With current trend I don't think it's gonna be a good idea. So this game not getting a sequel might be a good Idea.

Fun silly game, but the PC port is a bit garbage. I couldn't change my resolution or play in resized windowed mode, so that was very annoying. Had a few crashes as well and audio disappearing. My friend couldn't hear the in game conversations over discord as well. Textures are a bit muddy and low res, but that's what you'd expect from a console port. Gameplay is unique and fun, although vertical traversal is a bit annoying since you don't have a high vertical jump, the only way to go vertical is to jump off something bouncy. But horizontal traversal is fun, you can grind on almost anything, you can boost forward to reach some faraway places. There's a bunch of guns, half of which I haven't even tried, but the ones I did had cool mechanics. Only gripe is that leveling up weapons to rank 5 takes forever, even with the exp amp, especially on weapons with low ammo. Story is silly, but keeps the ball rolling forward. You get to meet weird characters (first time I saw Bryllcream I was stunned) and all of them want you to do mostly fetch quests, but the humor breaks up the monotony. The game definitely doesn't take itself seriously and is a breath of fresh air from everything else in the gaming industry.

How have more people not played this game?! Sunset Overdrive is a refresh on the open world formula. The main point of the game is traversal, getting from point A to point B as fast and stylish as possible. Allthough it is very flashy, it also feels like you have a lot to do with that flash, which alot of other open world games don't capture, as battles usually end in just button mashing. The game is a little cringy at times but sometimes the humour and refrences does hit. I will admit, when I first started the game it didnt seem that fun, but once the movement clicked it was endless fun. While most of the missions are just go here, get this, fight this and return back, it is shaken up just enough and fun enough that it distacts me from that. Same with the side quests, which are just as if not more fun than the main missions, and there are just enough that it doesnt feel overwhelming. The only thing that I wasnt a hige fan of were the tower defence minigames which were sometimes manditory and personally not enjoyable. Using overdrives however, were and getting new ones kept the game fresh. This game came right before spiderman, and it is clear to see how the movement translated from this game to the next. Overall, sunset overdrive is a great open world game for people who are tired of getting the same thing over and over again.

Well, there isn't much to say about Sunset Overdrive, its just plain fun and a blast to ride through, even if it does get repetitive and a bit lacking in some areas. The movement is by far the best part about the game, and you can really tell that these are the people who made Ratchet and Clank and Spiderman. As for the game, the shooting and core gameplay were OK, I was mostly here for just the movement and humor. There isn't that much to the story but it does know how to laugh at itself and the gaming medium. Other than that it's a good experience to recommend especially for the low price.

Just a goofy overall game with some ridiculous characters and even more ridiculous gameplay. The length was perfect, if it were any longer, I feel like the game would have gone stale since its pretty rinse and repeat throughout. The actual movement and the way combat worked was really fun, as you grind and bounce on every object you can throughout the game fighting 3 different factions of enemies. On top of everything being pretty damn good, there is a killer soundtrack playing for most of the game. If you're looking for something just goofy and fun, and a game that doesn't take itself seriously, give it a go.

Fantastic. Insomniac really killed it with Sunset, this game is everything that Spiderman PS4 would end up being and even more (I personally find this game way more fun). The parkour is seamless and fun, the weapons are super creative, and the story/characters are very far from serious but compelling all the same. The PC port is a little wonky at time, otherwise this would be a 100% review easily.
