Nothing is as it seems in Square Enix's latest action adventure game, set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures. Players assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, NIER, resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl virus. With powerful allies and a mysterious book, NIER encounters things that will confound even the mightiest of warriors. With NIER, experience seamless in-battle cinematics and explore hauntingly familiar lands, intense action-packed battles, and storytelling like only Square Enix can do.

Already completed it once before, don't think I'll replay it since I have a lot of games in that backlog. It's a really fun game though I do hope some people here that tries it for the first time enjoys it.

One of the few games I recommend playing twice. On the new game+ you get to see new cutscenes and you can understand enemies' language. It totally flips the plot on its head and turns the boss creatures into almost tragic figures (sort of like Shadow of the Colossus).
Just like the Drakengard series before it, I thought the game was a little awkward to play but the world and the story were absolutely fascinating and made it all worthwhile.

Bumping. This as there seems to be a lack of activity for the GotM this month. Shame I don't own this game

I was hoping by now I would have sent back one of the games I have out from GameFly to get this one next, but they're taking longer than I thought, so I might just run to Gamestop or something tomorrow to pick it up. This month is going by weirdly fast and I only just realized there's only 10 days left in it.

Feb 27, 2017 - Nier - 15h 03m (Ending A)
Took a little bit to get into at first then I really started to enjoyed it by the end. At points it really felt like a MMORPG with the village being the quest hub for fetch quests that pretty much made up the game which I thought was ok but I can see why some people might think it's a bit repetitive. I didn't think much of the main character, but the support cast made up for it tenfold. Kaine and Emil are great sidekicks. The story was passable, the soundtrack was really good, and the boss fights were great.
I think that the only downfall with this game is that it forces you the replay the second half of the game another 3 times to get the proper ending. I would probably repeat it once more, but not 3 times, that's just to much and I have to many other games I want to play. I'll just youtube the other 3 endings to get ready for Automata.

When it comes to endings I am fine with the one which I get and I don't try to get other endings. Most of times I don't even watch other ones on youtube cause they don't "exist" (for me personally).
This whole "proper ending" is kinda dumb. All endings are proper endings.

oh boy was this game an experience to be had. Such an amazing game, thank you Yoko Taro for your brilliance. I played this right after playing Nier Automata which is my top game of all time and this was just as great.
