Darksiders is a third-person, single player action/adventure game inspired by the characters, themes and mythology of the apocalypse and the battle of Armageddon described by the Book of Revelation. But this modern interpretation is not your run of the mill Sunday school stroll through the New Testament. In the game players take on the role of "War," one of the dread Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. But things are not as they were.

I played this back in November and adored it, although I still prefer Darksiders II. (I haven't played Darksiders III, but the second its Keepers of the Void DLC drops I'll be all over it.) I'll write up some impressions soon.

I've played this quiet a while back but from what i remember I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the game. It's a Zelda-esque game while not the most imaginative design wise it never the less is well built and that's all you really need. Although i do remember it taking ages to get to the first dungeon

You can get the Warmastered edition of the game for only 4$ on GOG during the spring sale (75% off). I think it's the best deal, because, no DRM. If you don't own the game and want to play the game as part of the GotM, this would be the best deal I think. The Warmastered edition is beautiful to look at and the PC requirements are rather low for such a game. - https://www.gog.com/game/darksiders_warmastered_edition

I completed that game back in April 2018 and like what people wrote here, I also enjoyed it. I thought it was well-paced and had a somewhat interesting story and a great soundtrack. The game is kinda linear, but not necesseraly in a bad way. I loved the HUGE dungeons that were pretty much whole areas by themselves. Also, I liked the controls. Very forgiving, combos are nice and easy to learn and there is a lot of stuff to upgrade if you want. My only complaint with the game is that I wished it was longer, more in the 35-45 hours range with more dungeons. But that being said, I highly recommend that game.

Also, I have played the Warmastered edition on Wii U and while the port is amazing looking with a very stable framerate and v-sync, it's sadly filled with glitches and bugs. Not to the point that it breaks that game, but close. I fell through floors to infinity and I had to reload my game quite a few times. My console completely froze at least 20-25 times during my playthrough. And by freeze, I mean that I had to reset my console by holding the power button for a few seconds, boot it back up, restart the game and reload my last save. It was really annoying and I had never experienced something like that on a Nintendo system before. THQ never released a patch for it. Because of that, I don't think it's wise to play on Wii U if you can get your hands on the game for a different plateform. I know I got my PS3 copy for like 5$ since the game was so popular and so many copies are in circulation.

Trailer here if you've never seen the game :

I've beaten it 3 times since release, great game. I personally prefer the first game from the second game. I've yet to play the third but plan on it when it gets cheaper.

Beaten it once and something felt a little off, to qualify as a great game for me and I'm not entirely sure what it was but I couldn't get over it the whole game. Perhaps it was the pacing? Replaying it should change my mind, for better or worse. The Warmastered edition is super cheap on G2A at the moment so why not. Should be rather difficult with my current playlist though.

I started playing yesterday on PS4 (I owned it already because of psplus). The game runs great, no framerate issues or bugs. The premise of a postapocalyptic earth filled with demons and angels is really cool. I like how the world feels very open with no loading screens. Combat is fun but feels kind of basic, but it gets better when you unlock more fighting moves. The batgirl dungeon has been the best part so far, solving the puzzles with my recently acquired boomerang. It feels just like a Zelda dungeon, which is a really good thing.

Overall I don't have any mayor complaints, maybe War could have some interesting conversation with the watcher ghost while you run around and maybe faster running speed, war feels real slow.
