A galaxy-spanning adventure awaits in STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order, a 3rd person action-adventure title from Respawn Entertainment. An abandoned Padawan must complete his training, develop new powerful Force abilities, and master the art of the lightsaber - all while staying one step ahead of the Empire.

Absolutely amazing game. A game I enjoyed from start to finish and even once completing the story i still continued to 100% the achievements. For anybody wanting to know, no you do not need to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy this game, this game actually got me into watching a few of the movies. Cant recommend enough.

Not a Star Wars fan either, but The Force Unleashed, Jedi Academy and especially Republic Commando were all very fun games, so diving into this one wouldn't be different, looking at its combat system.

I wasn't excited about this for the longest time since my relationship with Star Wars has soured a lot and I didn't have faith in an EA-backed franchise game (even though Respawn has a good track record). BUT the reviews and word-of-mouth have been glowing, so if I can manage to get it from GameFly (it's unsurprisingly still at low availability) then I'll definitely give it a try this month.

Hi everyone,
I've been excited to start Fallen Order since the first reviews came out. I had planned to get it next month but, well, why not play it now and participate for the first time in a GOTM thread.
I bought the game yesterday and - thanks to the amazing internet speed available - it shall be downloaded in just a handful of days. So far, after at least 4 hours over the night the first GB is downloaded - yay!
I have no idea yet if I'm going to like the gameplay. It was described as part Soulslike, part Uncharted. I didn't like Uncharted 4 and have never played a single Soulslike. I might end up just disliking this one here but the setting is very exciting to me, so I'm going to give it a try.
I'm just going to finish Danganronpa: UDG first - otherwise I have too many games open simultaneously - and then start Fallen Order in about 10 days.
---
In other news, this post has brought me into the top 100 users by post numbers stat and, therefore, advanced my evil plan significantly:
Step 1: Start posting on HLTB
Step 2: Become a top 100 user by number of posts
Step 3: ????
Step 4: World domination
I'm happy I'm finally half way there.

But did you play the other 3 Uncharted games?

No, I didn't.
Uncharted 4 came in a bundle with my PS4, and, to be fair, I only played Uncharted 4 for the first few hours before retiring it.
Edit:
I don't know, I just don't like it when games become very much like a movie. That's the best explanation I have why I didn't enjoy it.

I don't like that they tell you how many secrets/chests are in an area.

I beat it. 18hours 56minutes 17seconds
Pros:
+Game looks great
+Merrin
+Greez
+BD-1
+End surprise
Cons
-Story was lackluster
-Main character was quite bland and uninteresting
-Game discouraged exploration, as you would be roadblocked by obstacles you clearly didn't have the powers to get around them at the time of discovery
-Talent trees were lame
-Unmemorable bosses
-Enemies got stale
-Game could of used atleast some form of stealth type combat. Walking behind a Stormtrooper looking out off a cliff to suddenly turn around because you walked close enough behind him was not ideal in my book. Let me do a stealth takedown. Even Dark Souls had this option
5/10

Started playing it finally today and seems like lots of fun.

They really nailed the "Star Wars look" for this game but their constant recycling of certain aspects like the downhill slide and squeezing through a tight space got pretty tiresome. It was like they though "well we made the tech for squeezing through this tight space that looks pretty cinematic so lets make sure we use this EVERYWHERE". The game was also strangely easy even on hard mode despite them moving the "dodge" key to something other than space so I constantly screwed up dodging.

I've only managed to put in 2.5h but so far I really enjoy it a lot. The game feels really immersive and exploration seems to be proper metroidvania style. I can't wait to play more.

Yeah, I agree that some techniques are recycled quite a lot. In the first 2.5h both, downhill slide and squeeze through tight space, have been used multiple times already.
But I've read in several reviews that the squeeze technique is actually a replacement for a loading screen. It allows the game to load stuff while slowing the gameplay down instead of stopping it fully. And if that's true then I definitely prefer it over a loading screen showing up.

So I'm done with it too. I had a good time playing it. Tow minibosses wich should block your way just despawnd for me after dying once wich is quite strange to me. If you open the map in a narrow spot some of the objects around you block the view on the map but you can just move a bit and it is fine. I did not like the ending but that is propably my personal taste. A major problem that I accounterd was a graphics issue the rain was green and some green smoke like stuff was over the tarrain it ruined the atmosphere. After some reasearch I found out that this problem happens if you have a GTX 1080 Overclocked. If you set the clock speed to the standart from Nvidia ther is no problem and it fixed it for me. This graphicscard is commen and such a issue should not happen but I think they should be able to patch it. If I don't count the graphics issue wich I had fixed after an hour play time. I would give the game 9/10 and I hope for a sequal.

So now that I'm finally finished with Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix HD, I'm considering playing this before starting the next Kingdom Hearts on my list (Days), but I feel burned by The Rise of Skywalker, will this burn too? I don't think I can take that much consecutive Star Wars disappointment.

Play a proven good Star Wars game instead? Republic Commando is short.

Fallen Order is proven good though

Not from where I'm standing (as an outsider, seeing if it's proven good), but I guess you're welcome to use your own experience as "proof" if you like :)

Opinion of someone who has actually played and finished Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: I would consider it a good, but not great game.
I liked the protagonist, some may call him boring, but I just thought he was down to earth and relatable. The supporting cast is also really good and so is the primary antagonist.
The story was good, even if it was a little bit predictable. The different planets and locations are varied and interesting.
I had my issues with the combat because it´s Dark Souls inspired and I hate Soulslikes with a burning passion, but once you level up and unlock more powers, it actually becomes a lot more fun.
The collectibles are also a bit on the meh side unless you really love ponchos.
Do you like Uncharted, Metroidvanias and can at least tolerate the BS that is Dark Souls? Then you should have fun with this game.
Just consider playing on story mode difficulty if the combat isn´t to your liking.

It's universally considered buggy and repetitive. That's far from being a proven good game.
But I guess I'm more interested in good games than Star Wars games. This game's major selling point is "look, it's Star Wars and not Battlefront 2!"
Edit: I'm not even saying it's a bad game. Just that it is universally known for having certain issues, which I think Eries went over. Maybe it's "proven good" but it's also "proven disappointing."

A game can be buggy and/or repetitive and still be a proven good game. You are now simply backpedaling and reaching at this point.

No, I'm not (I was only trying to give mockturtle an alternative Star Wars game that could scratch a Star Wars itch without risking being burned on a recent, buggy hype-fueled game), but - and I didn't read her post in depth - Eries seems to have given mockturtle some better information specific to this game, so there's no real point in making everyone reading this thread annoyed by bickering back and forth because you think you're right and I think I'm right.
