Taking a long while after playing ocarina of time, I began my adventure to save the world in 3 days in majoras mask.

The time looping system in majoras mask is very interesting as it isn't completely unforgiving and keeps some stuff saved so whenever the cycle begins again you can do that stuff again without needing to the pre requistes to reach it.

Most of the games fun is from simply exploring and doing side quests and just generally having fun than doing dungeons cause dungeons in this game are as affected by the reset so if i were to go through mid way of a dungeon I have to do it all over again. But other than that the game has some fun dungeons and not too long due to said time limit.

The best part of the game is easily collecting the masks one by one and seeing each one of its quirky aspects is what makes them fun to get some masks only are important during a quest while others are vital for gameplay but each one is important to get the final mask which is just the cherry on top for this game.

Overall Majora's Mask is in my opinion more fun than ocarina of time, with the time gimmick making it so you have do certain things at certain times else you cant do it in that loop but isnt stressful as each loop is long enough to get most of what you want to get done. makes it easily one of the most fun games to playthrough and is overall just a brilliant game.

A different Zelda experience

Good
- the temples were pretty fun and interesting to play through, except for the Great Bay temple. The Stone Tower temple was very clever with the flipping mechanic.
- The environments were varied and the inhabitants had interesting stories. There were also a lot of different side quests to tackle, which made for a lot of interesting content.
- controls are smooth for the most part
- the theme of masks, and using masks to attain different abilities was fun
- the story is pretty interesting. Saving the world in 3 days and going back in time to accomplish what was needed was an interesting plot point.

Bad
- I'm not a fan of the time limit. Even with the slow downed time, it felt like unnecessary pressure.
- some of the stuff you have to do or obtain to continue the main story is a little ambiguous. I found myself referring to a guide often.
- some of the puzzles within the dungeons were also a little ambiguous.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D is one of the best games i've ever had the chance to experience, not only does it improve upon Ocarina of Time in alot of ways, it's also a vast improvement from Majora's Mask on N64.

Going for 100% in this game was alot of fun, combat was really enjoyable, the story is one of the best i've ever had in a Zelda game followed by having some of the best NPC interractions in nearly any game overall.

This game used to be referred to as the black sheep of the series due to it's reset mechanic that often lead to putting players off the game but it's really well done and you only lose ammo basically, you keep all equipment you get while a quest journal keeps tabs on all quests you've completed.

Well, this is certainly a classic with one of the best soundtracks in any Zelda game (which is saying a lot), easily the best story and I would argue the only Zelda with great side-quests. Transformation mechanics are very fun and creative and Groundhog Day approach to the gameplay is just pure creative genius. However, I think is also Zelda game which irritated me the most so I can't really say that it aged well even in regard to the remake. It's just frustrating how much time you have to spend on manual and boring work: playing the same songs 1000 times and seeing the same animations, redoing a lot of boring stuff over and over again because of a 3-day cycle. The camera also irritated me quite a lot and some mechanics, such are swimming and using Oath to Order, were such a pain to use. Yeah, the atmosphere, creativity and novelty of this game is exceptional, but on my completion journey I was bored or frustrated so often, that I can't ignore these shortcomings when considering a score for this game or just my overall opinion on it. However, the best part is that almost all the problems here are easily solvable, so if we ever receive a new and more daring remake, this game will truly shine as on the best of all time.

Good game. But not much to offer beyond Ocarina. If you played Ocarina, play this if you just want more of the same formula. I heard so much about this game throughout the years but it didn't meet the expectations.

Pros:
- Looks amazing on the New 3DS XL, plus you can save anywhere and have an extra screen and buttons
- Same gameplay mechanics of OoT, added variety with the masks

Cons:
- Confusing quest progression, especially at the start. You'll restart over and over again before you start to make progress...(sheikah stone beneath the clocktower will help you)
- The game feels like a DLC pack of sidequests because it lacks the strong central narrative that OoT had
- Quest events have very specific conditions to be triggered/met, I had a hard time with the hags and with the g elder quests even though I knew what to do (from the stone)
- This great bay temple is far worse than the infamous water temple
- Time runs too fast
- Some areas are tedious and resetting the 3-day period sucks because you have to restart them, and lose all your items and world shaping progress.

Majora's Mask is incredible! It was awesome (and unexpected) to see what I strongly believe to be at least a partial inspiration for Outer Wilds. I'll go ahead and say the water temple and related puzzles suck, but that's always true. It's just so good otherwise. I absolutely used a guide for at least a third of my game time, because you kinda gotta. I value my time as an adult more than I did as a child, and I never beat games as a kid. The masks are such a fun and unique set of weird mechanics. The time looping is really cool and compelling. The story is really good! And everything is so tied together. Little connections were still getting made during the credits, and I'm just so happy to have played it.

Я пытаюсь взяться за эту игру уже как минимум 8 лет (на тот момент я была ваще малюткой и не разобралась с эмулятором Н64, дальше Клок Тауна не заходила. Зато задрочила там каждый угол и знала кто куда идет XDDDDD).

ТЕПЕРЬ НА ПРОТЯЖЕНИИ ТРЕХ ЛЕТ Я ПЫТАЮСЬ СОСРЕДОТОЧИТЬСЯ НА ЭТОЙ ИГРЕ, но каждый раз меня заносит куда угодно, но только не в сюжет. Я не могу больше, я ненавижу доп. квесты их создал сатана. Все бы ничего, но некоторые доп квесты очень завязаны на времени. Например, я прошла второго босса и у меня остался один день на все про все. Но я уже не успеваю ничего, потому что хочется прокачать меч, но для этого нужно добыть золотую пыль. Чтобы ее добыть - надо пройти гонки. Гонки то я прошла, но МЕЧ ТО ДЕЛАТЬ БУДУТ ДЕНЬ, И ЗА ДЕНЬ ДО КАРНАВАЛА ОНИ ШЛЮТ КУДА ПОДАЛЬШЕ. Все, просрала я свой меч, бей босса занаво, да так, чтобы успеть за полтора дня.

Upd: в общем не стала добивать игру до 100%, иначе бы перегорела окончательно. В целом довольна, что НАКОНЕЦ допрошла ее. На последнем храме у меня немного сгорела жопа из-за этих постоянных переворачиваний вверх тормашками, чтобы собрать фей, пришлось даже мотать все назад, ибо не успевала нихрена, но я прошла и все хорошо с:
Расстроилась, что финальный босс был слишком простой, я его просто задолбила большим мечом и без маски злого божества, боюсь представить сколько заняла бы битва с этой маской XD

В общем, весело, атмосферно и интересно, не жалею потраченного времени ^^

Majora's Mask is still fantastic and beautiful, and while some of its sharper and more memorable edges have been shaved off, this is still the same game and still wonderful.

I love Zelda, and have loved it since I was about 6 years old. Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game, and my love for the series has only grown from there. I do have to say though, Majora's Mask is probably my least favorite in the series. I do enjoy this game overall, but it doesn't have the same effect on me that the others do. Honestly, I'm not sure if I can adequately put into words exactly my issues with the game, it just doesn't give me the same feelings that the other Zelda games do. It was still great fun and I'd recommend it to anyone, but it just isn't my exact Zelda cup of tea.

This is one of those games where I can appreciate the intricacies, but just can't enjoy myself anymore. The time mechanic - while creative - just causes me to be tense. I know that's the point, but after playing this game three time, I just can't enjoy it as much as I used to. I originally gave this game a 90% but this time a 75% in terms of enjoyment.

One of my all time personal favourite, if not the top 1. This game impacted how I enjoy videogames and darker works in general. The 3DS remake specifically is a bit broken using the Deku form (for the triple jumps), so it falls a bit short in this aspect. Note is based on my appreciation of the game in general (not the defaults of this specific version).

I have always loved Zelda, and when I started this game I had high hopes coming straight from Ocarina of Time. The started off annoying, with having to constant "regress" progress by going back in time continuously to actually "progress" in the story. Although this made sense, it was an annoyance. As I played the game, the other aspects of the gameplay (for me, the masks and playing "other characters") made up for this.

After I finished the game, I was glad I pushed through and did.

This game was a ton of fun and very very good. While I wouldn't say it is my favorite Zelda, or in my top 3 I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very interesting and the side quests were a ton of fun to figure out and do. The 3DS remake is gorgeous of course and gameplay was smooth. It loses points for me for 2 major reasons: Non-traditional Zelda game and very few dungeons. Still it was a wonderful game and I am certain I will play it again someday

Some of the best atmosphere, locations, and NPCs in a game, but some of the worst-developed and most infuriating mechanics. I'm sure the 3DS port's team did their best, but the original game needed more time to develop the movement of the transformation mask characters and rethink certain design decisions. The time mechanic was sometimes cool (the atmosphere of those last few hours is harrowing), but in more than one case led to a frustrating run-back in a dungeon at the start of a new cycle. I'm so torn. I've never been so simultaneously enthralled and frustrated with a game.

A peculiar experience, The time-cycle (which is the main gimmick of the game) was mostly frustrating for me, sometimes forcing me to do multiple cycles for something that was intended to be done in one because I like to go slow in games where I have to think even more so with this one which is almost NEVER straightforward with what actions are expected from the player (Ikana Valley is a joke) on the other hand I have to acknowledge that the game was far more enjoyable than I anticipated (mainly because of the strength of OOT that were carried over) and that it has enough courage to deal with painful subject such as grief

Majora's Mask is a fascinating entry in The Legend of Zelda franchise both for being arguably the most unique entry in the series as well as one of its most mixed. The game does a masterful job of establishing the new setting of Termina centered around perhaps the best Zelda location to date in Clock Town. It cuts down on the dungeons and instead focuses on world building, side questing and exploration, all of which are great things. Collecting the masks and using them to your advantage is the best part of the game with an incredible payoff that makes the final boss a short, satisfying joke. Unfortunately, as the game introduces a number of new mechanics, the devs didn't take the time to make sure they were all fun to play, resulting in a very uneven experience. While soaring around as Deku Link is always fun, the swimming mechanics are abysmal and the number of annoying things the game forces you to do as Goron Link is also a huge letdown. Some of the most frustrating gameplay sequences I've ever encountered reside in this game along with some of the worst boss fights. If you can look past its faults, Majora's Mask is a great game that is worthy of your time even in 2023. But it's also, in some ways, one of Zelda's most disappointing entries in the series when you consider how great it could've been if more time had been spent developing the mechanics and boss fights.
