Thought it would be fun to ask this around the holiday season!
For me, my parents got me a GBA SP and Power Rangers Ninja Storm when I was 5. Beat it that day it was so much fun. I remember opening it up and not really realizing what it was until my brothers told me. Still have it and play Pokemon Red on it every now and then.

SNES plus Super Mario World on Christmas Day, 1991! I was five years old and so excited. My dad hooked it up for me and I played in my pajamas all day. I'm really thankful because the price of a console and a game was a lot for my parents to spend back then.

The only system I got for Christmas as a kid that I can remember was getting a Wii that came with a lot of games like Super Mario Galaxy and a few others I can't remember.
I also remember yelling "Santa's awesome" that day. To which my mom responded; "No I bought that!" Which then caused me to realize at my young age that Santa doesn't exist. Thanks for Christmas cheer mom!

My first video game experience ever was Super Mario Bros. for the NES on Christmas, when I was 5 years old.
I remember we got it as a family gift from my parents and my dad had to be the first to play. I also got a TMNT tent, pajamas and sleeping bag.

I've never received a system for Christmas as my dad was getting the consoles as they were coming out. I do remember Christmas '91 tho. I got both Gradius III and Super Castlevania IV for the SNES as gifts and it was awesome.
I was almost 12 back then. I always had big gifts for Christmas since my birthday was two weeks later. I liked it that way. Then at my birthday I was getting smaller stuff, like a book or something smaller/cheaper.
Yeah, that means that my birthday is soon... ;)

PlayStation 1 console with Tekken 2. My dad didn’t know much about video games; thinking back on it now, he probably picked a game that looked similar to martial arts movies since he liked them. It’s a nice thought.

Christmas 2016. Received my New Nintendo 3DS with black Mario plates with New Super Mario Bros. 2. Best day ever to my barely 8 year old self. One year later, I received an SNES Classic Edition and the graphics blew my mind after playing NES games on my 3DS.

I think the first I got that was actually at Christmas would've been the original DS back in 2004. Obviously I got other games before that, but I can't possibly remember what they were.

I can’t remember the occasion I got my GBA or exactly what games I got with it right away (I think it was probably Batman: Vengeance and Jurassic Park III: Park Builder).
So the first I definitely remember getting was my PS2 for my 7th birthday, which I go Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando bundled with it and I also got Tom and Jerry in the War of the Whiskers (which is what I wanted my PS2 for after playing it at my friend’s house).
I definitely had some games before these as well, but I either don’t remember getting them or they were hand me downs from my dad or uncle.

A wide boi GBA in black with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I was so used to playing on a DMG GameBoy that the concept of shoulder buttons blew my tiny mind!

I never received any gaming related stuff for Xmas, but the best present I ever got was a He-Man and Battle Cat action figure set.
It was dope.

I used to have a SEGA Mega Drive when I was younger, but it wasn’t really mine it was my parents. The first game console I received on Christmas that was entirely mine was either my PlayStation 2 Slim or my Nintendo DS. I can’t remember which one though XD.

It's too long ago for me to remember whether the first system I got was a Game Boy or an Amiga 500 Plus. First game on Game Boy was of course Tetris, first one on Amiga: idk. Maybe Lemmings.

I think the first game I remember getting for Christmas is Banjo Kazooie. We were celebrating Christmas in my aunt's house in another city, so by the time we arrived home it was already too late for me to start playing, and I couldn't even sleep because I really wanted to play it.

That just reminded me of the Christmas my parents and I went to my grandparents to spend the holiday with the whole (huge) family and I got my present there.
It was Age of Empires. I spent the whole day at that family gathering (aside from eating) in a room upstairs staring at the box, just being happy and looking forward to play the game. :)

The first one I remember getting for Christmas was a Gameboy Advance with Spyro: Season of Flame and Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. I was so excited at the time, since it was my first handheld.

Well, I'm glad that you felt happy just by looking at the game, hahahaha. I used to suffer with anxiety since I would always have to wait to play my new games (I grew up in a small city, so every time my parents bought me a new game, it would always be when we were traveling).

The first system that I remember getting for Christmas was... a PS4 in 2013. 🤣
The first game that I can remember getting was... maybe Donkey Kong Country back on the SNES? I know the most infamous game was Mario Party 4. I went out and bought the game with one of my treasures associates, we came back to my house and started playing it, and then my mom popped into the room and confiscated the game so that she could give it to me as a gift. I'm... like... 76% certain that she reimbursed me for it. 😣

I don't think I've gotten a single system on Christmas. That was usually a birthday thing for me.
I'm not sure if this really was the first game I've gotten as a Christmas gift but I think it was: I very vividly remember getting Rayman 2 for PC. I still have that same CD somewhere with cheat codes that I cut out of a magazine back then and slid into the back of the jewel case. Great game.
Since here in Germany we give out presents on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas morning, I had to wait until the next day for my dad to actually install it on the PC so I could play it. That kinda sucked. lol
