The switch remake is genuinely incredible and I wish nintendo continued to use the engine to remake the oracle games

no reason at all that the 360 marketplace cant be incorporated onto the current xbox store

It looks like there might be reason for concern regarding Donkey Kong Country Returns on Switch.

nintendo are scraping the bottom of the barrel to try and extend the switches life span. They really want that #1 spot of best selling console

I started with CS and half life all those years ago before transitioning to split screen halo CE and 2.

As the user above recommended, I also will recommend Halo: CE on normal difficulty with a friend. Nothing beats co-op halo.

In Microsoft's defense, they apparently can afford this because of massive reserves from their other endeavors (you know, like their real monopoly on office software). So at least they're probably making a profit regardless? And they're buying existing profitable businesses too, not just potentially valuable IP.

Activision Blizzard generated 8.09 billion in revenue in 2020. How much that was profit I don't know, and cant really find online. While obviously they are running a profitable business, and the acquisition will overall be a profitable venture for microsoft, how much microsoft actually makes in long term is up in my opinion in the air.

To be honest, the only IP I actually care about in this entire case is cod. I believe it'll still be multiplat for the foreseeable future since cutting off such a large percentage of players out would lead to nothing except loss of sales and a pissed off group of people. Xbox consoles and PC players will probably get "timed" map exclusives or exclusive skins and what not, just as how playstation were doing it for something like a decade.

My only wish from all this is that microsoft lowers the prices for season passes on older cod titles. Its a crime to be charging $60+ for 4 map packs on a cod title older than 6 years.

It really looks like microsoft are going the netflix route of acquiring publishers and IPs for billions without any real outlook on how theyre going to be getting their ROI. They just want gamepass subscribers right now, profit can wait 5, 10 or even 20 years.
