What can I say that you don't already know about Tetris? Playing it in my Nintendo 3DS is great, I can just exit the game and keep playing later just where I left it. It's convenient, fun and makes this classic great for when you don't want to get into really deep stories or hard to master mechanics. The game is simple, but it's still so fun, I don't really have much to say about it, but it's definitely worth it, it obviously doesn't weigh too much (it's literally a Game Boy game, what did you expect), and even with other versions and editions out there, I think this one is way better and much simpler. The 1990 edition is definitely the way to go. It's a funny and entertaining minigame, those 34 years haven't done much to it.
It's just an essential game if you have a Nintendo 3DS or any other handheld that you carry on the go.

How do you beat this? Aside from those magicians who get so many lines they glitch the game out. I wonder how many hours they have invested. Also, I've never understood the adulation this game receives. It's a cool game, but like, the greatest game ever? What? It's a simple block stacking game. There are so many games that are multitudes more interesting, complex, moving, etc. Its strength is the complexity that arises from its apparent simplicity. But still, calling this one of the greatest games ever is akin to saying the same about Pong. Obviously, it's one of the most important games ever. If you were making a list of those games it would be very high. But to me "important" is a very different thing from "best." Just how I feel about it. I'm sure some people have a genuine love for this game. But please don't feel compelled by history or peers to overrate it relative to your personal feeling about it.Updated 4 Months Ago

A fun, classic puzzle game. I enjoyed the music and the gameplay a lot. It will remain in my repertoire when I have a few minutes to kill or when I don't want to play another game. I look forward to trying some of the other games in the Tetris series as I continue to get better. My completion /"beat it" criteria - go from level 0 to level 9+ in a single session in A-game.

What can be said about Tetris that has not been said before. The game is simple, but fun. Insanely so. A simple game about matching blocks together to form complete lines manages to be so addictive that you just can't put it down... Even three and a half decades later.

It's Tetris, and the Game Boy version holds up surprisingly well for such an old port.Updated 1 Year Ago

Hard tetris game to go wrong with, albeit not as iconic as the game boy version. The A-type is your classic endless game of tetris, and the B-type involves clearing a certain amount of garbage blocks. Plays by "asshole tetris" rules, where blocks are pure random so you can get completely screwed by RNG. My major gripe with this game is the controls. Moving blocks left to right is very slow and it feels like the blocks rotate in a way where I keep accidentally misplacing them. No hard drops either. I respect the people that play this competitively for learning how to master the controls, because I sure as hell had a hard time. Getting the ending of the game by clearing a level 9 speed 5 height B game is a total crap shoot due to the RNG of what blocks you get and the arrangement of the garbage blocks, so just stick to the A-game.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

This is probably the most skill intensive version of Tetris as it has no hold feature and is slower paced with the lack of hard drop. If that's what you're looking for, this is the definitive version of Tetris as it is portable and has the good Tetris theme; if not then versions like Tetris DS and Puyo Puyo Tetris are betterUpdated 2 Years Ago

its literally tetris. like the most tetrisy tetris that could ever tetris. you think about tetris, 90% chance this version is the first one you think of unless ur like a weird comp player or something and u think of grand master or whatev. This game controls kinda weirdly ngl, with the blocks feeling oddly sticky which makes playing at higher speeds pretty difficult. it's still tetris though, and when the heck has tetris ever been bad in the history of the universeUpdated 2 Years Ago
