A really charming and fun game. I liked the sorting pattern focused levels the most. Would have loved if the different level types were more spread out across different chapters and some of the levels were really frustrating to figure out. Also the final level was really dizzying and gave me a headache. Still, a nice and relaxing experience for the most part!Updated 1 Day Ago

A Little To The Left is an unorthodox puzzler in which for 4 or so hours, you sort knifes, power tools, chess pieces, stars and shadows into perfect little formations. All while avoiding the nefarious motions of your overlord kitty, hellbent on destroying your attempts at neatness. It is a calming, casual experience that I found occasionally quite difficult, mostly since the latter stages lack the logical basis of earlier ones. You can never truly expect what comes next, sorting flowers by colour or turning tires into sugar, and it makes for a constantly entertaining and equally perplexing series of solutions. Solutions which, without the help of a friend (honourable mention to James) I would not have found. But don't let that put you off, if you can't figure something out immediately, the game doesn't penalise you in any meaningful way for skipping it or using the hint system. The only game I can compare this to is Unpacking, which similarly has you sorting items into neat stacks or layouts, sporting the same cosy atmosphere and colourful look. But it's definitely more a defined puzzler than that game. While Unpacking has multiple solutions, this game mostly has just the one. But if you liked that game, I imagine you'll like this too.
Anyway, this is one I really enjoyed and implore you to try. It's well worth its asking price despite it's relatively short length.
Little update after completing the Cupboards and Drawers DLC
These are, to me, a kind of "best of" collection building on the main games more conventional sorting, space efficiency puzzles. One's where you match up, and slot things into their rightful places. But expanded with additional functionality, namely, drawers and cupboards can now be opened and closed to reveal more stuff inside. As a result, they are bigger and often take a little longer, so while there might be only 25 levels, trust me it is a lot. My favourite being the box that continually opens with secret compartments the more you put into place, a puzzle inside a puzzle. But all of them were great and flowed perfectly from one another, even brandishing a return of the evil kitten in the form of 4 interlude levels.
It took me a little under 2 and a half hours to complete (the DLC), which is outstanding considering the price and quality. So if you buy this game, buy all of it.
8/10.

Very cute and feel-good; I'd classify this game, especially with its DLC (which I thought was even better than the base game) as a sister experience to Witch Beam's Unpacking. It's charming and cozy with graphics that make each scene look like a diorama made from construction paper. With so much dragging and dropping this game is probably more ideal to play on a PC than the Switch, in case there's room for you make that choice.I had some issues with the game's more abstract levels- they aren't as intuitive to solve, and what I enjoyed most from A Little to the Left and its Cupboards and Drawers DLC is its straightforward gameplay. In my opinion, the game is strongest when you work through a container with clear conditions as they've proven that there's still room for abstract pattern-finding. Especially towards the end of the base game, I'd get frustrated and think that what they were trying to have the player solve required a jump in logic that seemed to stray from the game's premise.
Sometimes it's also unnecessarily specific on how you solve something, like a specific object must be placed somewhere despite no indication that this would happen. This can be especially frustrating when the player who otherwise solves a puzzle must use a hint to fix an inconsequential detail. And while the player can skip puzzles they don't like, I think the game could've maintained a stronger focus if more puzzles took place in realistic scenarios.

Played through the first chapter of puzzles and quitted because for a cozy game there are so many little annoyances that triggered my anxiety. First of all, it's a click and drag game but the mouse and gamepad behave weirdly, is this a mobile game port, meant to be played with a touchscreen? Well: both mouse and controller suck. Using mouse and keyboard the mouse trembles, but using a gamepad the cursor just slides; can't get comfy with any of the configurations. Second, there's no feedback of where to place the items until you randomly guess, having you drag anything at random across the screen until the game "sticks" it. Third of all, why does the cat randomly jumpscare you? Finally, the star rating feels so condescending, just made me paranoid trying to search for hidden patterns, the hidden answers for the puzzles should have been convened by other means, a literal rating is... too passive-aggressive. For a game that brands itself for being cozy, this game just gives me a headache. The idea is nice, the art is good, music is relaxing. But the execution is disgustingly horrible.Updated 2.5 Months Ago

A charming assortment of sorting logic puzzles. The novelty got a little old by the end and finicky console controls certainly didn't help, but the allure of each puzzle and figuring out the trick kept my going. Massively inflated game time largely thanks to some insidious achievement design that made me come back and grind random puzzles day after day. Their 'daily tidy' system sounds great on paper but literally months in and I've seen some of the same puzzles with randomized solutions at least a dozen if not more times.

Mostly an enjoyable puzzler, but 1) the controls on XBOX suck; this is clearly a game you are meant to play with a mouse. So, it's doable, but irritating. And 2) roughly half the puzzles are so counterintuitive that it starts to get really annoying. Some feel nearly impossible to figure out without looking up because you simply would never think to solve it in a certain way because it's not like any previous puzzle. But since these are all basically micro-puzzles, you at least get over these relatively quickly and just move on to the next thing. So yeah, I enjoyed this enough to finish it all, but it was certainly more frustrating than I was expecting it to be.Updated 3 Months Ago

The puzzles in this game were so much fun! Once you know what the game wants you to be looking for (color, size, shape, sequence), then completing levels can be pretty easy. I particularly loved the puzzles that had you organize drawers and fit shapes within each other. I was able to complete the game without any hints, although some puzzles took me longer than others. This game features daily puzzles, but I don't see myself completing more than the two that I already did. Each daily puzzle was solved within seconds and then there's a 24 hour wait for the next one. I don't feel its worth keeping the game installed for a daily puzzle that can be solved in less time than it takes me to start the game. Maybe in the near future, I will revisit this game to complete the DLC. It seems to feature a lot of the same puzzles that I enjoyed in the main game.Updated 3.5 Months Ago

Enjoyable game, although some do make you scratch your head trying to figure out what they want if attempting all stars. Although once you get some levels down, you tend to get an idea of what the game is asking of you - which is not inherently a bad thing as it makes a somewhat more relaxing game. I enjoyed the game enough to 100% it (excluding daily tidy) in any case, and there is certainly enough variety in my opinion. I think the length of the game is just about right as well.Updated 3.5 Months Ago

A nice little puzzle game that doesn't outstay its welcome.Would have liked more complex puzzels as by the end it feels like you're just doing the same puzzles as you were doing at the start but with more interactible pieces. Still a nice way to spend a few hours while listening to podcasts or relaxing in general

Excelent game. Great gameplay loop, every puzzle makes sense when finished, though some of them are obtuse and hard to get at first, had to use hints and google a couple times for the more challenging ones. The ending sequence alone is a 100/100, amazing and elevates the game a lot in my opinion.

Yeah it's ok, but the music is grating, which is insane for a game that is supposed to feel calming I think???

Not very difficult, but the free form nature - no ruleset, each puzzle has different end solutions - of the puzzles makes this a casual puzzler that is easy to dip in and out of. The daily puzzles promote playing the game in small doses, where the simple solutions - make order out of chaos! - become a pro rather than a con. Fun to play, and never tedious.Updated 5 Months Ago

A proposta do jogo é bastante simples, porém profundamente executada.

I wish I had liked this more. Played the demo in early Feb 2022 and loved it, playing the game felt different. Not sure why, but it did. There are several levels where the puzzles are very straight forward. Even some of the clever "solve different ways" flow really well. But then there are other levels... that more abstract and completely lack direction. Some with new elements you have to discover how they work.
As you play, the game becomes more complex, which means the levels become more difficult. Some of which are irritating, like getting hung up on needing the smallest adjustment to considered being solved.
*Played on Steam* A personal pet peeve, several Steam achievements specifically require purchasing the DLC for a prefect game. As well as completely a daily puzzle (variations of previously puzzles) up to 100 days, 30 of which must be consecutive. I just feel some kind of way about that level of commitment from a game that markets it's self as a "casual" "relaxing" title.

Not my Kind of Zeitvertreib

The concept of this game is novel, but it does not feel like an idea that can carry a whole game. The idea behind these puzzles is to show you an object or group of objects and let your natural intuition of how things should be tidied up guide you to the solution. Very quickly you start to see the cracks in this concept. Most puzzles will be extremely obtuse or extremely obvious, and you can tell which is which instantly. A particularly nasty kind of this former camp is the symmetry puzzles, where you must arrange items so that they are symmetrical in the space they occupy. The problem is, there are a million ways to make these puzzles work but only one is "correct". I really wanted to love this game, but it's wears out it's 3-hour average playtime about an hour in.Updated 1 Year Ago
