Very immersive game with a great story. Battle mechanics is a little tough at the start and needs getting used to but super fun once you've mastered it. Highly recommended game.

I had a lot of fun with the exploration and combat but the story was very mediocre and basic.
I had a lot of issues with the combat. It's really cool but once you get to a high enough enemy scaling you can only execute a combo if its 1-1 or else the other enemies will just run behind you and kill you. The combat also is not meant for controller even though its supported because once all of the enemies are fully kitted out in gear it takes forever to take down a single enemy in 1-1 combat. If there are more than 1 you are basically dead. I did not enjoy that scaling spike. Also when you get to that point in the game if you try to run away you physically cant on controller because they pull your camera 180 degrees immediately when you get tackled so you simply die.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an exceptional game. Even though it still has some bugs years after its release, it remains one of the best RPGs on the market.

You can tell it was made with passion: the quests are detailed and varied, the characters have well-defined personalities and Henry's storyline is compelling and very well written.

The gameplay allows you to tackle challenges in multiple ways, whether through combat, stealth, or diplomacy.
Combat is initially difficult but, once mastered, it is highly rewarding and adds a layer of realism and challenge.

Visually the game is stunning with high-definition textures applied. While the graphics might show their age, the stylistic rendering of certain landscapes is breathtaking and you'll often find yourself pausing to admire the beautiful, historically accurate environments.

The soundtrack fits the game's atmosphere perfectly. There are few tracks, but they are very well written.

The DLCs add even more depth and variety to the game, extending the experience with new stories and challenges.

What a roller-coaster of a product. The flaws that everyone critiques are there and deserve it. A couple of quest breaking bugs had me wanting to smash my keyboard. The quest design at times felt abhorrently paced. I didn't like the re-used faces for characters throughout the game either. All this to say the game had me in a chokehold like no other. The immersion, combat, dialogue, and progression felt like crack cocaine. My sessions carried on for hours w/o me even realizing it. So, despite it's flaws, the game is good, great even.

Technical problems mean you have to work to get where you're going sometimes. But the immersive world and we'll done narrative points make it worth the effort. The combat is similar. It's clunky and unwieldy at first, but the more you invest into working at it, the more it gives back.

I really wish I could give this game a 100% but the technical aspects of it really break the immersion and there's some design elements that I don't enjoy (like the clock while waiting/sleeping/spending time in jail - time passes really slowly. I want to play a game, not stare at a clock).

That being said, everything about this game screams passion. These devs are people that love their craft and the story they're trying to tell. I really appreciate games like these.

I really loved the combat, even though it can be frustrating and confusing at times. I can't wait for the next one, especially since it ending on a cliffhanger (GO NOBLE BASTARD HENRY)!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance stands out as a gem among RPG games. Set in a big open world during the Middle Ages, it's filled with old-school secrets, quests, and authentic medieval people who actually live their life every day in-game. There's a real charm to this game — the world is beautiful, and the developers clearly have a genuine appreciation for the period and region.

The graphics are excellent, with a very detailed world where every house has an interior and every village has its own life. NPCs have their own routines — they wake up, go to work or the tavern, and then go to sleep at night.

You start as a peasant who can't even tie his shoes or read, but slowly through gameplay, you become a master in the skills you use. Every skill you learn feels useful and rewarding.

The combat can be seen in two ways, either very bad or very good, with little middle ground. On one side, it really shows how you can be absolutely awful at something until you practice it. On the other hand, the AI hitting you with scripted moves is something that I don't quite appreciate.

TL;DR; This game grew on me. At the start, I was dying constantly, and the limitation on saves was frustrating, as sometimes you can lose hours of progress if you forget to save. However, the voiceovers, plotline, and historical tidbits made me stick with it, which I'm very glad I did. An easy 8/10.

An unforgiving and beautiful game. You start off as a peasant and the game does a fantastic job at making you feel like one. Your character is completely useless at the start of the game. He has no skill, no talent, no brawn, no charisma. He just sucks. It's a harsh land that's at war and you are just some peasant. This is by far one of the most immersive game I've ever played and is an experience worth playing. The only thing that I dislike is that some of the main quest quests are not fun and fairly linear. Which is a tad disappointing as every other part of the game is super open to how it lets you tackle it.

This game is the closest I've met to Skyrim since the game got out. You can interact with anyone, and do everything you want to do (from robbing to having affairs). The side quests add some playtime to the game and you feel like they give you some advantage as the game progresses (for ex a character you met from a side quest you've done might help you out as the game progresses).
The overall environment and dynamics are spot-on! music, graphics, and the map make me feel like I'm actually in the 15th century fighting as a knight.
Adding to all that the main storyline and DLCs make you want to help the main protagonist have his desired avenge and you'll have an awesome game in conclusion.
The main reasons I've down-graded the score are that the game does have some bugs and functions that I really disliked ( for ex the vision at night is horrendous) and it did hurt my gaming experience. Nonetheless, I still recommend playing this game.

The faces during cutscenes are so badly animated that I though for the entire game that the lord henry is trying to serve was going to betray him. This is not a game about playing your way, but rather about playing the story of henry. Frequently the only solution to quests is murder. The openness of the world is fun but doesn't deeply interact with the story. I still don't feel like I understand or that I can use any of the combat options in the game effectively, even after training all my stats to the maximum. One random peasant can still block my swings all day long.

I consider this to be a good game that failed at a vital stage .
I'll begin this review by saying that this game is very ambitious and has plenty of good things going for it .
Combat- Very interesting approach to knights and sword-fighting , in a world when every game tries to make you feel superhuman , this one doubles down on the "Normal guy in abnormal situation " instance
World - Great , cities feel alive and everything flows normally , town squares feel as they should and little details such as the hustle and bustle of a city center makes everything come alive . However , the cities also flush out this game's technical issues , expect significantly lower framerates when in town and overall less then ideal performance
Story - The reason i am giving this a thumbs down . As good as some elements are , the point of a story is to bind everything together , and them not finishing the story and leaving it halfway over and without any conclusive bombshell is unforgiveable in my view. Do not misunderstand me , this game is good , but i cannot honestly recommend this to any RPG fan , because i know that the possibility of you being disappointed is quite significant.
They did not provide any Story significant DLC so that's also something to consider in case you were hoping that they would wrap it up in a DLC.
Also , be warned that there are bugs , movement is sometimes wonky , horse-riding is very clunky and performance is unstable .

Kingdom Come Deliverance is a historically plausible (often accurate) medieval open-world game set in 1403 Bohemia.

Unlike other big open world games that feel comparable (maybe Skyrim?), you start off as Henry, the son of a blacksmith, and it takes you many hours of gameplay to become proficient at combat, which takes the form of either melee combat using several different types of weapons, or archery using bows. No magic! Combat is a bit of a mixed bag. At least in melee combat, it’s trying to reinvent the wheel by having you manually swing your weapon from one of five directions or do a stab right at the opponent’s chest. You can parry an opponent’s attack by pressing the block button at a precise moment and swinging from the opposite angle of the enemy’s attacks.

This all sounds good in theory, but in practice you end up getting parried and riposted 95% of the time you attack someone, leaving you very few openings to actually do any damage via regular attacks. You can do the same to the opponent a bit later on in the game, so combat tends to devolve into perfect parrying and maybe squeezing in a quick attack until the enemy is dead, or hoping they block rather than riposte, and you can get a combo off. Takes a while to slug it out with an opponent as a result. As you level up weapon skills (by using weapons in combat), you unlock combos requiring you to hit 3-4 attacks in a specific pattern to execute a strong special move. Sadly, the enemy riposting your attack or dodging breaks the combo, meaning getting off combos is more a matter of luck rather than skill, and the longer 4-chain combos are essentially useless as a result.
The combat system then completely falls flat once you’re engaged with multiple enemies, in which case it’s best advised to just run away.

A lot of the game’s systems are geared towards realism, like the survival system requiring you to sleep and eat regularly, less you suffer debuffs. Food goes off over time, and some foods decay faster than others. Items have a weight and Henry can only carry so much before getting slowed down, or eventually being unable to move at all. Brewing potions is a very manual process, in which you have to prepare the ingredients and follow a recipe in a book next to you to attempt to make it yourself. There’s your typical RPG mechanics in the game such as skills, buffs, debuffs, and perks you can invest. Skills get levelled up by playing the game and using them, similar to Morrowind. The worldbuilding created thanks to that is fantastic, though it does get in the way of the fun of it sometimes, such as with the combat system.

Sadly the game is also a bit janky. I’ve had a few characters T-pose and collision is a huge mess because you get stuck on bushes, and sometimes small objects yeet you off your horse and on the floor. It makes traversing the map a bit of a chore if you don’t have fast travel spots unlocked.

The main story is a revenge story of sorts but was in my opinion fairly well written and does a good job at immersing you into the medieval world. Some of the side quests were a bit heavy on fetch quests or requiring you to fast travel through half the map to pass some skill checks and then go back. The voice acting is decent enough and the game has some memorable characters.

Graphics are top notch, and I wonder why more games don’t use the Cryengine. Looks like a dream and can be tweaked to run on a weak system. I played the game on medium settings on my Steam Deck at somewhere between 40-60fps, and it looked really good doing so. I also played it in the past on my gaming PC on high/ultra, and it was really well optimized there as well.

Overall, it’s a very solid game, hampered in parts by it’s combat system and janky traversal. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes open world RPGs or games set in a medieval setting. As long as you don’t mind a slow start, a bit of jank, and a shaky combat system, there’s lots to like here.

Played through the Main Story and did most of the side quests plus the Hans Capon DLC.
Beautiful and well crafted open world with graphics that are still better than some of this years releases. Combat is engaging and fun in 1v1 but struggles when you have multiple oponents against you. The story has its twists and turns and is generally well made, but some parts feel like unnecessary filler quests.
The only major complaint I have is, that for the save system to work the game needed more polish. Having limited saves only works when your game is absolutely bug free. Even though I´ve only encountered a few bugs during my playthrough, the ones I found stayed in my mind because of the save system.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of those games which you love and which you hate. Not once I was annoyed: if you spend over 60 hours in this game expect that some of your time will be wasted on bugs and broken quests (henceforth the save system appears a bit unfair). And yes, the combat system is hard to master and not every story action looks rational.

Come on, is it an RPG or not? Why a quest «Ginger in a Pickle» is interrupted after talking with Radzig Kobyla? Why I can't say to villager something like "You better give away 20 Groschen. You understood me?!" in a quest «A Woman Scorned»? Why I must only stolen it? And in general, why my horse always drops me after some bandits with bludgeons start shouting in the bushes? It is't realistic.

But at the same moment I'm glad that completed this game. Kingdom Come is an exciting adventure that has a lot to offer: interesting narrative and characters, funny quests and most of all – beautifully recreated medieval world with many gameplay features, like Alchemy (got caught for an hour brewing potions only because it works really cool).

Despite its’ deficiencies Kingdom Come: Deliverance provides many unforgettable moments which make it worth playing.

Honestly it was going to be a 7 - I was going to overlook the technical flaws, the pacing, the fetch-quests (the bloody fetch-quests my god) - because the story was decent.

But then it just abruptly ends. It just ends. No conclusion. The epilogue is pointless and hamfists some DLC in there that just WASTES YOUR TIME.

My god. So much of this game is mundane. It's ambitious but it doesn't quite make the mark it set out to.

This is mostly a good game, it is very unique and has good characters, world and story. Though there are some parts that are slow and boring.
I like that you aren't some overpowered special chosen one and start out just as a normal peasant.

Combat is sort of ok once you train and get used to it but it still feels clunky even when you get used to it. The auto lock on system is annoying and terrible if facing many enemies and I only found it decent when using potions when fighting multiple enemies.
The game defines itself as being realistic,
however being realistic shouldn't mean that it lacks quality of life. And when games lean towards realistic often it makes it less fun and more tedious and frustrating.
Such as can't pause during cutscenes which is annoying when it happens when the phone rings or my cat is demanding attention.
Even worse is the very limited save system. Especially as the game is poorly optimised and plagued with occasional crashing and freezing which is frustrating because of the limited save system.

This game is not polished enough and can often be buggy and glitchy and definitely can tell it's a indie game.
I've had bugs with some quests such as
I've had a bug when doing the bathhouse quest for Sir Hans after getting the wine and returning he was no longer at the bath house and instead was sleeping in his bed. I had to reload a previous save and do the quest again and this time it was ok.

This is a game that wont appeal to everyone. This is a game I like but not love as there are quite a few things I am not pleased with. Such as pacing of the game feels drawn out and everything take ages to do, you have to spend so much time practicing combat just to get better stats to be able to fight anyone adequately.
I recommend this game as I did enjoy playing it despite the bugs. I liked playing through most of the DLC's, only one I didn't like was a Woman's Lot as playing as Theresa was so tedious and is only worth it for the companion Mutt.
Overall it is a very unique game and worth playing if you can put up with the combat.

I expect a lot better for a game regardless of if it's indie or AAA.

100% and all achievments. This game is amazing and stunning.. A few annoying things tho.. Combat can be glitchy as all f***. (like swinging at an enemy with his back turned then he teleports arround and smacks you, or your weapon going right through them) The game has trouble loading in textures, and with the warhorse Jenda with max speed I run into a town that looks like cake with nothing rendered in for atleast a minute. And ofcourse the oldschool GTA bushes made of steel that you cant go through which will at times create a wall you have to go arround. (I used a mod to fix this) This being said I love this game, and recommend any person who's a fan of mediaval scenarios to try it out. :)

What a brilliant world and a gripping story. The graphics on this game are amazing. I love the storyline really great to follow in the footsteps of a blacksmiths son.

Lots of side quest to keep you occupied and inventory management. I found myself not using the alchemy a but to complex for me but also unique.

The combat can be challenging at first but once you get used to it combat can be fun.

I am giving this a 7/10 great for any player that enjoys RPG games.
