The game is overall boring, there are really slow parts in the game like driving around a entire city without side missions or random events.

The cars handle ok I did not like it much because they have the old feel video games use to depict older cars, I also felt that they are slow for the amount of driving the games makes you do

The story is bellow average, keeps you engaged but its not that good, I really did not like the ending.

The characters are ok but they should have focused in a smaller number of characters overall and made them with more depth.

The city changes a bit throughout the game but not even that can make the game feel refreshing enough.

One of the most broken and unfun remasters I've had the misfortune of playing. Things constantly break, audio breaks, your character will break and in the end all you will find is a poor attempt at remastering a wonky game with a great story.
Joe's Adventures does not work whatsoever and have triple the amount of crashes that base game has, and it's also not fun in of itself.
As it's my second playthrough, I ended up loving Vito and Joe and getting way more , and this "definitive" edition is an insult to to these characters.

Just a really solid game, first time playing remastered version, probably fifth time playing the game overall: The open world is immersive despite not having much to do, story is okay but could have been a lot better if it had a bit more focus, gameplay is nothing special but still feels good to get kills, character is where this game shines though; Vito and Joe alone had me cracking up multiple times. Not too long but some of the later levels are just "Shoot these guys" and that can get a bit annoying.

Une excellente suite au premier épisode avec un nouveau protagoniste, ici Vito, et une aventure rempli de rebondissements, de trahison, de combats et de course poursuite avec une ville et des véhicules digne des années 60.
Cette version affine les graphismes avec un affichage 4k et un jeu tournant à 60 fps. Par contre quelques bugs sont encore présent dans cette version remaster pouvant bloquer la progression dans l’aventure.
La musique correspond vraiment à l’ambiance des polars mafieux.
En résumé, un excellent jeu entaché par des bugs et des problèmes de cohérence du monde ouvert avec une physique encore trop perfectible, nous décrochant de la réalité de ce monde.

If I would have played this version first, Mafia 2 wouldn't be in my top 10 games oat. Luckily I didn't.
No aim assist which is hard for me as an almost mnk only player.
Horrible 30fps lock, frames actually drop below 20 sometimes.
Story and music still make up for the port but still I'd recommend the PC version over this.

Great game, but way too many bugs and performance issues on PlayStation 4.

During my playthrough, the game crashed 3 times and I encountered 3 bugs that almost broke the entire game or made me lose a lot of progress.

The DLC Missions feel very repetitive and can get boring quickly, especially if you have a big problem with repetitive games or missions.

Con éste juego, tuve algunas sensaciones encontradas... por un lado me gustó la historia (Típica historia de bandas de los Estados Unidos, en los años 50) pero por el otro lado, senti que algunos momentos se juego se me hizo muy largo... la imposibilidad de grabar los progresos entre misiones y al morir tener que reiniciar toda la misión si no hubo un checkpoint en el medio. De todas maneras, lo terminé y fue positiva la experiencia.

This game is such a childhood memory for me. I did it maybe 3 or 4 times back then. One week ago I've decided to give it a shot on PC, just after making the first one remake.
What a game, what a masterpiece of fun and story.
BUT, it's so sad that it has not been remade like the first one, after making the first, it's very complicated to see these graphics, this gameplay.
But whatever, the base game is cool, lot of cons, like the non-liberty, the AI, the pretty empty city, but those were cons from the original.
For me it's one of the best game ever, one of the game that gave me so many emotions.
I give it a 75 and not a 80 like the original because pretty much nothing changed.

Grand jeu de 2k games remis au goût du jour avec un léger lissage graphique (rien de d'exceptionnel de ce côté), mais donnant cette fois-ci l'intégrale des DLC du jeu original et quelques bonus si l'on possède Mafia I DE et Mafia 3 DE. L'histoire principale est très prenante et nous entraîne dans une aventure certes linéaire (c'est beaucoup moins "libre" qu'un GTA) mais prenante. Les DLC quand a eux sont moins bien loti, le mieux des 3 étant celui de Joe adventure ayant un tant soit peu de scénarisation, le reste est juste des quêtes sans connexion les une aux autres.
Un must have pour celui qui adore les GTA-like, l'époque des années 40-50, et les histoires de gangster.
(Jeu obtenu gratuitement car possédant déjà le jeu orignal lors de la sortie de la DE).

I just couldn't connect with this game the way I wanted too, it's a very poor remaster, and if you held it next to the original game i wouldn't find many differences is, The story felt pretty lame (although I didn't finish it) and the combat was poor, and bugs were persistent and frustrating.

Both games are great, but Mafia 1 has a far better and captivating story.

Verhaal blijft erg goed, de vibe dat je lid bent van de mafia is erg overtuigend. Het autorijden is een van de dingen die je het meeste doet in de game, door de prima mechanieken en de fantastische muziek is dit echter geen enkel probleem. Wel zit de game vol bugs en glitches (enkeling game breaking) dit maakt het wel een slechte port. Desondanks was het leuk om het verhaal (wat diep weggestopt zat in mijn geheugen) opnieuw te kunnen spelen.

Pokud mě někde zasáhla jednička na plné čáře, byl to příběh a co udělala dvojka? Přesně to samé? Skoro, ona to ještě více umocnila a samotné postavy Nás donutila ještě více milovat! Sice dnes všeobecně víme, co a jak moc to ovlivnila nedodělanost, ale i tak se jedná o nutnost, kterou by jsi měl hrát před smrtí. Je to opět otevřené, živé a strhující. Osobně do dnes miluji právě Joa a Vita, jejich hlášky ...a to se opakuji, jednak z popisku jedničky. Ono to prostě dělá zhruba to samé a ještě více chutné! Plus když si vezmu ten jízdní model a jak moc se přiblížil reálnému počinu v autě. Naprosto famózní hra a to samé, to samé se dá říct o definitivní verzi, na kterou sic každý nadává, ale mě se nestalo, že bych ji měl nějak rozbitou. Je to přesně to, co jsem hrál na zasekaném pc, než jsem přešel na konzole, neb cena...

Its enjoyable at certain parts. The story is pretty ok like a 6 or 7 but actual gameplay sucks. Enemy’s can easily kill you even on easy and the gunplay sucks as well. The melee combat isnt that bad but is still pretty basic. Overall just a pretty meh game. I do not recommend going for plat it will be frustrating.

Good game, though not as good as the first Mafia remake. The story seemed rushed, Vito was a boring protagonist, and once again there just wasn't much to do in the world, when it seemed like there would be. Overall though, the soundtrack was great, there were moments where the story was interesting, and I liked Joe and Henry as characters, but everyone was else was just so forgettable. The atmosphere was also good, but again not as good as the first game. One thing I truly appreciated was the time jump from the mid 40s to the early 50s, cars got better and the radio was great. Overall, good game, but one with a lot of missed potential.

I just played the first game of the series' reedition, and I was disappointed to see that this version was essentially just a graphics upgrade with a few twists. I loved the Tommy Angelo mission in Mafia II (standard edition), but the definitive edition was nothing like it. It was riddled with bugs, and the graphics weren't impressive. While I enjoyed playing, I often felt that I spent most of my time driving long distances and repeating the same tasks.

This might be, the absolute worst game I have ever played in my entire life. I genuinely cannot believe this is the sequel they came up with for the first game. Ive played games that ive hated before, but none like this. Usually I can see some good elements as to why people would like it. Black ops 3 has good extra gamemodes and gunplay. Gta 3 set the standards for open world games, and is super influential. But this game doesnt have any of that. I genuinely cannot think of a single reason as to why someone would ever want to play this game ever.

The story here sucks. Maybe its just because im comparing it to the first game, but the story in this game just like, isnt even a mafia story? Theres 15 missions, and you dont join the mafia family until the END of mission 9. So the first fucking 2/3s of the game, your just doing odd jobs around the city so you can get the families to "trust you" and be let in. But then right after your let in, they fucking tell you to go kill a don as your first job?? And then you come up with some stupid ass scheme to fucking like blow him up with a bomb while pretending to be window washers and wearing fake fucking mustaches?!?!? Then at like mission 12, the inciting incident for the game finally happens, where you and your buddies decide to deal drugs for some fucking reason, and then that starts a gang war. What im trying to say is, this game doesnt really have a story. I mean sure, theres characters and like things happen, but that doesnt mean it adds up to a story. The characters in this game feel like glorified quest givers. Go talk to them, they tell you and joe to go do something, you do it, come back, go to bed, next chapter. The whole entire game is like this. I never felt like I was part of the mafia or anything, I just felt like I was doing side missions for people who actually were in the mafia. The characters in this game also suck. I didnt care about any of them, especially vito himself who has the personality of a brick wall. His motivations for joining the mafia are just "get money, dont end up like dad." Literally his motivations never change from that throughout the whole game, literally hes only in it for the money. Its fucking ridiculous how such a serious crime drama such as the first game can be followed up by this game, where your doing odd jobs for people (your selling smoke cartons for 2 dollars in the streets in fucking mission 8...) and a game that doesnt take itself seriously, to the point where your walking around collecting fucking playboy magazines (gross...) and get covered in actual shit at one point and have to change your clothes.

The gameplay isnt better either. First off, the shooting in this game fucking sucks. Somehow they managed to make it worse than the first game. The gunplay feels stiff as a fucking board, hitting people is hard, and the cover system is literally fucking terrible. Enemies will mow you down in seconds if you let them catch you out of cover, and im honestly not sure if I would have been able to complete this game if I didnt play it on easy. Thats not to say that I thought it was hard, because it wasnt, its just that this game isnt fair. People will kill you in like literally seconds, so you just gotta play this game to its rules. The problem is however that at 2 points throughout the game you need to escape while people are shooting at you, so you gotta hijack a car, all while tanking damage and beeing shot at. Like there is literally no way to avoid this damage you just gotta fucking deal with it, its insane.

The driving in this game is also terrible. Like I think its just as bad as gta 3, however thankfully the driving in this game consists usually of going from point a to point b (something which youll be doing a lot mind you.) so its never much of a concern. What is a concern however are the fucking police. They are everywhere, and if you do something they dont like, theyll chase you. Hit a person or hit their car make sense, but hit another persons car or go over the fucking speed limit?? Why you gotta chase me around for that. So basically you gotta drive around with the limiter on so your always going the speed limit, which slows the game down to a fucking halt. And unfortunately, usually when your driving characters dont got much of note to say because their boring pos, so your just driving thru the same locations youve been thru a million times before.

This games remastering also is just fucking terrible too, with hitching during driving for no reason and visual/audio glitches. Surprised the game even fucking works. The dlcs in this game are literally fucking filled with "arcade style" missions, so obviously im not gonna play those. This game sucks. There is literally no reason to play it at all. Please never play this game. I could go on for hours about my hatred for it, but ive run out of characters that hltb will let me type, so I guess thats all I gotta say. If you liked mafia 1, dont play this.

Decent story line, but far too many cinematic cut scenes and there are no options you simply have to play through the positions the game dictates. The world is beautifully realised and you do end up caring a little bit for your co-protagonists.

There's too much driving around, no fast travel system and no real need to buy upgrades on anything or personalise it. Just steal another car or buy some new clothes.

The set pieces the game puts you in are very good though a little too easy and ammunition is easy to come by. It is still satisfying and the overall attention to detail is outstanding. Shoot at a bad guy taking cover behind a pillar and the stonework starts to disintegrate under your fire and vice versa reducing the area you may have for cover. Enemies will try to flank you, but they are a bit silly and suicidal, moving towards your gunshots round corners almost all the time.

Overall, the game feels as though you are on a relatively easy trainline with the purpose of telling a story and a moral one by the end at that. It's good at what it does, but you likely won't return to it once complete
