Actually, I'm only documenting it here because I replayed it recently, and I've been playing and replaying Blood since when I was much younger. And it never, NEVER gets old. It's an extremely gory, fun old-school first person shooter where you just wanna blast a ton of enemies without caring about the game's story, and make 'em rest in pieces. It has plenty of guns for your enjoyment, but most of the time you'll be switching back to the game's dynamite in order to explode the enemies. If you've never played this before, but you are fan of those amazing 90's FPS games, just do yourself a favor, and do it ASAP. In the old days, we used to play this via DosBox, and the emulation was very meh, since Atari has never released the game's source port. Nowadays, you can grab either the reverse-engineering NBlood or BuildGDX ports to play it. They are 100% authentic to the real thing. However, avoid Blood: Fresh Supply at all costs.
+ One of the finnest FPS games in existence, and one of my Top 10 games of all time. A masterpiece.
+ Lots of violence, humor, and references to movies from the 90's.
+ Caleb's arsenal is huge: you've got a rocket launcher, flare gun, pitchfork, and even a bizzarre voodoo doll, but most of the time you are going to use the three dynamite variants.
+ The game has official expansion packs, but the game's community is very dedicated, and they produce a lot of high-quality non-official expansion packs. "Death Wish" is the best non-official expansion game I've ever played in a FPS game.
- Drawbacks? None. I just wished this game had easier and more accessible ways to play online.
My personal score: 10 out of 10.

An excellent old school fps. Even having a lot of experience with other Build Engine games it takes a while to adjust to the way this game is laid out, plus Episode 1 is needlessly brutal even on lower difficulties, but once you get your footing in the game it is thoroughly enjoyable.Updated 1 Year Ago

I am in love. I grew up a big fan of Monolith, but somehow never played their original Blood games. Blood, to me, will always be that early Penny-Arcade strip. I haven't read Penny-Arcade in over a decade, but that mediocre strip has really engrained itself in me.Blood easily sits among the best FPS games of its decade. It's *so* consistently good from start to finish -- even the sewer level is good -- and is a special treat to anyone who even remotely likes horror. It's the perfect mashup of every horror movie and show and book trope with some of the best Build Engine level design out there. Seriously: You never get lost.*
I played it on one of the easier settings and...I think I recommend that. Makes Blood breezy and lets you really just enjoy the game design as it is.
* Maybe if you look up how to access some of the secret levels. (Highly recommended.)

Absolutely the best FPS game of the 90s in my humble opinion. The enemies, the weapons, the soundtrack, everything is so unique and so fucking perfect! Nothing compares to this, if you haven't played it, DO IT!Updated 4 Years Ago
