Legendary game. There are a couple of issues, but none that can't be alleviated with mods. It has grown so much throughout the many, many years I've owned it. It's well worth the couple of dollars I paid for it back in the day.

It's a fun game if you like sandbox games and exploring.
I do find things annoying about this game, it is not beginner friendly or intuitive.
I have played Starbound before and that's a simular game so it was easy enough for me to grasp.

I hate how it does not display recipes and you have to either look it up or show the ingredient to the guide to see what you can make.

I found the game hard to play without looking up guides and walkthroughs. I shouldn't have to do that as there is not enough guidance and also watched videos for bosses and preparing for hardmode. And by Hardmode you should choose which class you want to play as it takes time farming for the items for specific drops.

It is really commendable that this game is reguarly updated, so many devleopers leave games unfinished that could do with more content.

I like building and making unique houses for each NPC that I feel fits them.


Events end up too repetitive and boring. After the first time, they should only happen if you want them to happen by using an item. I got so sick of the Goblin Army and they don't go away unless you take the time to fight them. They are easy to kill just would rather not have to fight them when I don't want to.

The Old One Army is better as you can do it when you want to and not have it continually forced upon you. All events should be when you want to do it.

Also Eye Bone pet for putting items is terrible as most of the time when you go to click on it, it moves away from you or jumps around non stop, making it hard to use.

It is fun and enjoyable to play for a while.
I don't give it as high a score as it goes from relaxed exploring which I love to too much grinding which I hate.
Overall though it is still a good game to play.

Can't recommend this game enough. After 569+ hours on it, I can still find new things to do thanks to how easily moddeable it is.

Side note: played vanilla / terraria overhaul already? 100% try out the Calamity mod! Likely the best mod out there, adds TONS of new content and revamps the original stuff to make it fresh. Just make sure to only play on reveangence mode or higher if you have played terraria on Master mode. It's more difficult than Expert (now called Bone Me Plenty, in my opinion the perfect difficulty for the base game).

This was on my backlog for the longest time but I was glad to finally beat it as its a very fantastic game, with or without friends, and its absolutely worth the $10 at peak price but it goes on sale pretty frequently. Then there's also tmodloader which has a ton of mods with it that are also incredible.

I did beat the main game long time ago, but like two weeks ago I looked at all my achievements and saw that Terraria had 15 left to be 100%ed. I fucking hate fishing man you cannot tell me it's fun to do 200 fishing quests, it's just painful to do. But things get even worse with the last achievement "And Good Riddance!" which tells you to completely purify all Corruption and Hallow from your world, until the Dryad is satisfied. I've been stuck with that single achievement for like +2.5 hours, the Dryad always telling me there's 2% left, I'VE BEEN SEARCHING PIXEL BY PIXEL JUST TELL ME WHERE IT IS YOU PIECE OF SHIT. You see, I've gone insane with those 15 achievements, and for the love of god, please don't try to 100% complete it.

Oh and the main game is incredible, I just wanted to talk about how completing this game stressed the fuck out of me.
