Awesome mystery-adventure game. I loved the plot description and my fiancee strongly recommended the follow-up, 'Still Life', to me.The story is a period piece, somewhat noir-ish mystery with occult overtones. The music is great, although limited, so it can wear thin after a while. The characters are very good, but the voice acting is just acceptable, and a lot of the dialogue reads better than it is spoken.
I love the structure of the gameplay in that you really feel like you're unraveling a mystery at your own pace. Overall, the story doesn't change much (except the penultimate scene) no matter what you do, but the game does a great job of vindicating the choices you do make, as if you were always supposed to go your chosen route.
The downside to this is that some puzzles offer little to virtually no explanation, which can be frustrating. The lockpicking puzzle annoyed me, because I thought I could pick multiple locks, but you have to choose one, and use multiple picks on whichever lock you do choose. I had no idea that either of these were true, and there was no indication of such in-game. And the alchemy puzzle was somewhat tedious, but fortunately I managed to get it right on the first try.
Overall, a great dark adventure game for mystery-lovers and fans of occult-ish noir.

A game that seemed very promising in the beginning. It turned up falling short due to bad puzzles, continuity problems and poor voice acting. Writing, voice acting and puzzles are all sub par for the genre. I really liked the idea, but the execution was very poor. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to the sequel (Still Life), hoping for a better execution of a similar concept.Updated 9 Years Ago

Post Mortem is another game in a series of games that had potential but falls short for one reason or another. It is one of the best I've played in the last year, though. The genre benefits from this title. Pretty decent graphics and sound only serve to make the intriguing tale of murder and deception believable. The dialogues are interesting and add a lot of the game. You can explore and play the game however you like and there are many ways to pursue the investigation. While its lacking on puzzles and this will leave you with a feeling of dissatisfaction, it is nonetheless a worthwhile adventure game that will hold us over while we wait for THE adventure game. If we wait for it, it will come, right? Right??Updated 21.5 Years Ago
