Obs.: Só joguei o jogo principal, não joguei a DLC The Frozen Wilds

A fantastic adventure.

Good
- I like alloy's personality. She doesn't take s*** from anyone, but yet she has sympathy and is reasonable to those who deserve it. She's also very strong and does not rely on others.
- the game touches on the controversial topic of AI singularity. The way they told the story made it such a mystery, and it's really cool how there's this whole new primitive civilization that came out of this apocalypse. And the whole time it made me constantly Wonder what this project zero Dawn was.
- it's very interesting listening to all the audio recordings of people in the past, especially the people who worked on zero dawn. And how each one of them came to either accept or decline their fate.
- the thought of machines duplicating endlessly consuming biomatter is scary. And how after they've consumed all biomatter, there would be just millions of robots hibernating on the surface of the planet waiting for any new biomatter to appear. Like some kind of grim silent death trap for any alien.
- I feel like a tomb Raider of sorts, because I'm reading pretty much tombs of life before the robot apocalypse. Except the theme is a little reversed, because alloy is a primitive person rating the tomb of a more advanced civilization.
- the constant back and forth gameplay in the main quest between the present day affairs in the primitive land, and the contrasting tomb rating of the advanced past gives diversity to the gameplay. It's like two parallel storylines, which tv shows use too.
- that part when sylens rescued alloy was epic
- seeing alloy rise from being an outcast, nobody, to literally a holy figure as she was walking out of all mother was a very surreal moment even from the point of view of the player. I really like how alloy doesn't care for authority and the law if it does not make sense, even from the matriarchs.
- many of the side missions are well connected to the two main story lines. Both the primitive civilization and the robot apocolypse past. The game introduces you to characters in the beginning that Branch out into side quests later on in the game. This fundamental introduction to these characters allows me to make a connection with them, and for me to actually care about the quests that they put me on later. Not many games are able to make me care about side missions like Horizon zero Dawn can.
- using the rope caster and tieing down robots then hitting their armor parts off or using critical hits on them feels very satisfying.
- knowing the sacrifice that Elisabet made was just heart wrenching.
- there's a good balance between using melee, projectiles, and traps in combat.

Bad
- The ledges can be highlighted more vividly. Because they aren't, there are many times where I am not sure where I can be climbing until I started randomly jumping.
- some of the NPC facial animations when they're talking doesn't match the expressive voice acting. The facial movements of each character just aren't all that big.
- there are a lot of ways to exploit the combat using the environment. Like staying in a spot where the boss can't reach you. Most games would restrict the area you can go but Horizon zero Dawn allows you to pretty much go anywhere in a large area during the fight.
- the final chapter ended too fast. I was really hoping the final battle was gonna be more epic. It was alright. It just happened really fast, and there weren't any new machines, just a big deathbringer and other minions. Given the amazing story this far, I also expected a twist to happen, but the ending was very predictable. Still good, but I was hoping for something more spicy.

I knew as soon as I first discovered this game that it would be right up my alley, and boy was I right. It was one of the first games I played in 2017 after not playing video games for several years, and it was a fantastic experience. I haven't played it since 2017 so I don't know how well it would hold up compared to everything that came out since then (but I think it would do pretty well overall), but at the time it was a great time. The facial animations when talking to NPCs are very weird looking, but that's a minor gripe. The combat is fantastic, and you really feel the pressure of going up against these big machines. I remember being extremely stressed about the story having you fight your first Sawtooth, and even more when I eventually had to fight a Thunderjaw. The game really makes you feel small and insignificant at first compared to these giant machines, and feel very accomplished taking them down.

My favorite part of the game was actually the story, which seems kind of silly when it's a world about fighting giant mechanical animal machines with a bow and arrow, but it really was a great experience. You get invested in Aloy's struggles from the very beginning, and it has big moments and twists that genuinely surprised me. It also has those climactic moments that you remember after. The game also really got me to want to help others and finish basically every side quest, and it was well worth my time. The ending fight after helping all of these optional NPCs really instills the feeling of how when you help others, you also help yourself in the end. I would recommend this game to anyone, it was a fantastic time.

I played through the beginning hours of Horizon Zero Dawn a couple years ago and loved it. I stopped playing mostly due to life getting busy and never came back to it. Playing through it now was an experience. The story was intriguing and stuck with me throughout. I found myself invested in Aloy's journey and felt as annoyed as she did with the incompetence she had to deal with. Contrary to what others have said, I enjoyed the dry, sarcastic humor in the game and felt it fit with Aloy's character. She felt like a real person with emotions. The acting wasn't always the best from the characters (Aloy included) but I enjoyed the journey they were all on. I had an idea of where the story was going but could not have foreseen some of the twists and turns.

The combat was one of my favorite aspects as you never feel like you're an expert. No matter how hard you grind in the game to level up, you will still struggle to fight the biggest machines if you don't have the right equipment and the fast enough reflexes to anticipate their next move. The side quests were fun and they fleshed out the world of Horizon but I always felt like they fell flat. Beyond that, the collectibles weren't all that alluring as the game went on. I found myself annoyed to look for collectibles as they were either too hard to find or did not feel as if there was any discernible reward to finding them.

All in all, I enjoyed my time with Horizon and it is a game I would play again in the future and I can't wait to play the sequel. I would gladly recommend Horizon Zero Dawn to anyone who wants an immersive story about what finding yourself and understanding where you fit in the world. Be ready for a challenge in terms of combat and for lackluster side quests but what it lacks in side content, it makes up in an incredible story that will stick with you in between sessions, dragging you back to the console to see what is next and will remain with you long after it's over.

Awesome story and world building; truly the highlight of this game. Unfortunately, the game play mechanics (in particular melee combat) just didn't click with me - could simply be due to lack of lock-on targeting that I've gotten used to from soulslike games. Combat basically boils down to stealth kills and sniping crit spots every time. Beautiful environments, excellent voice acting, compelling narrative make it worth the play through.

It might not be as unique and original as its marketing wants it to be, but nothing ever is. Suffice to say that if you like big budget open-world games (as I do) then you're going to love this one. It's definitely up there as one of the better titles in the genre.

I feel like this game is carried by its incredible aesthetic. Nothing else about it is especially noteworthy in my eyes. The open world oftentimes feeling really empty with nothing to do. Maybe it's because the only other truly open world game I have ever played is BotW, but I feel this game can't live up to it's open world's massive scope.

Wasn't a huge fan of the game. The gameplay was ok, but annoying at times, and I really didn't like Alloy as a character. The beard guy was pretty cool, too bad that Alloy gives the impression that she hates him.
The story revolving around the side characters is pretty decent, but the main story revolving around the history of Horizon's world pretty dumb and too... optimistic. It's at least an unique idea, but personally I didn't like it.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a great game, but its two halves feel uneven. The linear half can be a bit boring, with pages and pages of only half-interesting lore to read during missions. The combat within these sections can be slow and repetitive, as it usually is composed of human enemies. The open-world half has great combat against a wide variety of enemies, but other than that there isnt much to do. The world design is a bit bland in most areas, but it looks great for what it is. The voice acting is solid, but the animations during dialogue are not. Overall, Horizon Zero Dawn is a good, not great, beginning to this series.

The PS4 poster game. I guess there is no need to describe it, everyone must know what it is.

Technically superb, amazing story, tight gameplay. Despite the enemies being (mostly) robots, you will feel really like a hunter, setting traps, catching enemies, disabling weapons.
Not too much a fan of the setting, but everything about the game is amazing. One (minor) thing I didn't like much about the way of telling the story.. it's a lot of story and most of it arrives together toward the end. So much that the end of the game will be like 60% reading/watching/listening to the story.

While it's an open world the quests are quite linear. No big deal, but would have loved if they had found a more freeform way of playing.

It's worst issue is that it came out about the same time as Breath of the Wild and that game did made obvious that this game was made to impress and tell a story, BotW while looking like crap compared to H:ZD, was made to have fun. There is nothing really wrong with this game, everything they did is top notch and well executed. But maybe the hunting gameplay loop can be tiresome.

Overall, despite its minor flaws, this game is a masterpiece and should be played by everyone.

Having not played the first it was hard to get into to the world. Eventually the immersive world, well-designed quests and battles that are not just about mashing attack buttons won me over. The story is good but not on "iconic" level. Aloy is now perhaps my favorite female character in any game!

Technically flawless but face animations have still ways to go before we can get past the uncanny valley era we are now. After 90 hours the music held pretty well.

Great VG, indeed. This is true also being and open world. This kind of open world games are no full suitable for me, I get too distracted with all the stuff that can be done.

In this case, as I played the game in two round, in 2018 (2018), I spent most of the time doing world stuff instead the main mision. After rescuing the savefile in 2023 (PS5) I got focused on the great main story and in competing leftovers on side quests and collectibles.

It was a great experience. Recommended.

Excellent game. Did most of the game in huge chunks and enjoyed almost every bit of it. Combat got really horrible when there were too many large enemies at once though. It's possible to get ragdolled permanently and burn through all of your healing even with 26 potions and a full healing bar. The combat also gets very easy once you're a high enough level because you can just headshot like crazy and the enemies can't down you faster than you can heal.

Very fun to play though. Designs are cool. The mystery of the world is very compelling and was satisfying to learn about. Liked seeing Lt Daniels as a major character too. There will probably be a sequel with the huge bait they left at the end of the game.

at first I was enjoying it. taking in the world, the characters, etc. Then the tribe stuff got to be so boring and the combat got repetitive. Switched to story mode to just fast-track the story and enjoyed it for the most part. The background story is 1000% more interesting than all the tribe stuff they make you go through. The world is awesome, and the technological parts about the past were so interesting, yet they bog you down with going to these tribes that have no qualities that make them differ from each other besides their hatreds.

The voice acting and animations were absolutely abysmal. At times I felt like was watching a bad kung-fu english dubbed movie with the way the mouths were and the stiff animations.

I didn't like literally any of the characters. Its such a shame that Alloy is so generic whilst having a great backstory. Why does she talk like some sarcastic teenager throughout the game? It makes 0 sense.

The backstory was the only thing keeping me going. The cliffhanger ending was pretty lame as well.

Beautiful game, great protagonist, fantastic story. Biggest complaint is how late in the main story the majority of the lore comes in, and it's dumped on the player in a rather short period of time relative to the number/length of main story missions. I'd reckon that many players did what I did and played far fewer side quests in the last handful of main story quests as the lore began to snowball and became more tantalizing. I'd give it like an 8.7 if I could.

Horizons combat mixed with the world and beast design definitely makes this game a memorable experience. Setting up traps and wires and strategically planning out each scenario before you go on the offense. The down fall is some of the awkward dialogue and flat character design woven with a extremely intriguing story left me with mixed emotions about the overall story.

There was a lot that was foundationally there but was missing a lot of extra finishes to make it a great experience. The story wasn't too interesting to me until the final 1/3. The final 1/3 was pretty great but the first 2/3 didn't unfold enough at a great pace for me.

The side quests were mostly garbage filler. There were a couple quests that had some good moments but even those weren't too incredible.

The open world to explore was pretty well done since they gave you some variety in the activities but without the slog for those activities that is typical of open worlds. The combat was also pretty good. I appreciated that a game was almost solely focused on ranged weapons that wasn't a shooter. It felt novel. Overriding enemies and shooting off their heavy weapons was also pretty fun. Some of the bosses just felt impossible to dodge or too easy to get stunlocked though that the combat was more frustrating than I would have liked but I recognize some of that might be user error.

I'm happy to have tried the game but it's not one I would readily replay or look forward to the sequel. Still it had some great moments!

100%'ed / All Achievements - 65:10 for NG / 69:18 for NG+ Ultra Hard

*I did not get all the data logs though, so if you count that towards 100%'ing then you will have more hours, I probably found about 40% of them.

Achievements - They are not missable since you reload to last save after beating main story so it allows you to clean up, but you will have to do a NG+ on the hardest difficulty if you are hunting achievements. So I recommend playing on Normal or easier first to learn the game and enjoy the story and everything else for NG then main story only on NG+.

4 hours from start to finish in Ultra Hard mode, main quest only; I highly recommend that you do everything you possibly can such as getting all skills, weapons, mods, etc before going NG+ or it will be a hassle unless you want the hassle.

Story - nothing to say here, that's for you to find out but it was awesome.

Gameplay - it is amazing, I love it; if you like a 3rd person action-adventure game based on science-fiction/sci-fi where you hunt robots of increasing size with an awesome story AND expansion, then you'll love HZD.

Hunting Guild Questline - was fun but the questline ending was anticlimactic, the boss fight was nice, especially once you read the lore for the build-up to it. I just wish they could have expanded on the Hunting Guild, make the quests longer, they could have done more with it such as bounties on machines with lore like the boss instead of 'kill these machines, show me the scrap you pulled off its carcass', I mean, I've been doing that the whole game, you want me to do it again. And I did it again, and again, but it's just wasted potential, could have had more ranks and upgradable equipment through the ranks.

Last battle - was very anti-climatic imo, the big bad guy ended up being a pushover with a short fight and the bigger bad guy was just, yeah... Could of had it done within 5-10 minutes without the middle section.

Enemy alert - alerting someone a mile away alerts the rest and I'm not talking about machines, humans too somehow, I guess it could be the focuses, but come on.

Sliding - nitpick really, but I wish you could slide down inclines instead of only sliding if it's too steep. Just climbed up a small hill, let me slide down it faster by pressing the button instead of just sprinting down it until I start sliding.

CONS

Feminism - don't like this stuff in my games and it seems this game was built for women empowerment, the only men above it is the Sun King Avad but he seems to be a simp for any 'strong women' then there is Aratak: big man, chief of a tribe, looks like he could slap you to the moon, but yeah, we see how that went..

Did not slap me to the moon, tis a shame.

Patriarchy seems to be taboo in this game and women want to be heroes but I mean, it isn't always blatant but it's there in the dialogue/lore.

But look at the Tomb Raider reboots and take a gander at Lara Croft: a strong women, yes, but she is humanized, not some hero that can do everything and she knows it herself, she knows she has limits and that's why her character is awesome, Aloy isn't a god but man does she seem to think she is, "Just tell me what to do and I'll do it, doesn't matter if it's 2 Storm Birds and a Thunder Jaw in the middle of Meridian, I got this! Just have my reward and bottle of experience ready when I get back, all this slayin' makes one thirsty."

I just don't like her condescending attitude; I guess this could be the real issue with the game for me since tribes being matriarchal isn't an issue since it's their culture and the story is based around it so I'll let that slide, but Aloy's attitude rubs me the wrong way, so I didn't really care how people acted towards her such as Sylen's aggressiveness, I think she deserves it to be honest, knock her down a notch.

You catch it in her dialogue when speaking to someone and it doesn't help that she just knows how to do everything off the bat; like I said god-like, but maybe that has to do something with her origin/intelligence.

Still wish Aratak would have slapped her to the moon though, maybe humble her once she bounces off that big ol' rock.

PLUS:

Expansion - was amazing, I enjoyed that more than the base game's story, it's a shame how short it was though. Give me a Horizon game where you play as a character from the Banuk tribe or have the game based in Banuk lands; I can just imagine Mammoth-like machines roaming to take down or even Rhinos (not Behemoths).

93% completion (completed all main game content, apart from getting blazing suns at hunting challenges, as far as I know), Hard/Very Hard. 61hrs 15mins.

HZD starts strong and has many things to love: fresh and demanding combat system vs machines, visual design of world and characters, good enough story. It is easy to ignore weaker aspects, such as combat vs humans. But as it progresses, past the first 20-30 hours, I started to feel a lack of progress. Activities and missions feel repetitive and mostly follow one of very few templates. Most interesting skills have been unlocked, and most original weapons bought. The main plot is still good enough to finish it, and I had some very good moments with it. But HZD would have been more compact, tight and satisfying experience, if it aimed flor 30ish-40ish hours mark for full completion, or was a linear experience (like TLOU). I hoped that would be addressed in the sequel, but Guerilla made it even bigger, so it’s a pass for me.
Note ok performance: overall runs good on PS5, with quick loading times (10-20 secs). Still, I was disappointed to see pop-ups quite a few times, and screen shaking incessantly in one mission.

I anticipated this game for years and was so excited to finally get to it. But I simply could not get past the painful voice acting and face animations. I'm a big story gaming guy and so that's a big factor for me. They could really take a page from Naughty Dog as I think their animations and acting are still unmatched. Very pretty game otherwise, always sad it didn't work for me.
