You bet. Been playing since Sonic Heroes.
Ironically, it wasn't a game that got me into Sonic. It was the anime. Since then, I've bought a decent amount of Sonic games and merch.
He was pretty important to me during my childhood. Back then, I even asked my parents for a PS3 and a Wii because I really wanted the new Sonic games. Good times.

This is why I have almost 700 anime on my 'Want to watch' list (excluding sequels), and over 200 manga on my 'Want to read' list.
After that, I'll find a husband and become a cat mom.
Although, a more realistic answer is that there are a lot of games on Steam alone. Both my Backlog and Wishlist are relatively "small" as well (At least "small" compared to others'). I don't think it would be a big deal if I completed both lists. Considering how many games there are out there, I'm pretty confident that I won't run out of games anytime soon.
Even if I were to "run out of games", I'd probably spend more time on my other hobbies. Like writing, reading or studying foreign languages. Perhaps play some badminton? And I wasn't joking about my anime/manga lists.
I wouldn't just stop playing games though. I could always replay games.

Would've linked my blog as well, but I haven't posted anything in ages. It's mostly an anime/manga blog anyway, with some video game posts here and there. I guess I'll just edit this post if I become active on my blog again. Same with DeviantArt.
I do have a Facebook account as well, but I keep it private.

Persona 1&2 are optional

Persona 1-5 are all "optional". It doesn't matter if your first Persona game is 5, or if you go all the way back to the beginning (Persona 1) to play the main games "in order". All five main games stand by themselves with their own separate stories and cast, and can be played in any order. The only exception is the two Persona 2 games. Still, you don't need to play Persona 1 before playing them. For this reason, Persona 1 and 2 are as much "optional" as 3, 4 and 5 are.
That being said, I actually like Persona 2 so far, and I hope Atlus will give it more attention in the future. I still hope for a Persona 2 remake, although the odds are very low.
I've played Persona 1 for a bit as well, but just walking around is giving me a headache. I intend to finish both of them eventually, but Persona 1 is definitely the last one I'll finish. I need to prepare myself before going back to it.
Out of the main games, I've finished Persona 4 and 5. Persona 3 (Portable) will most likely be the next one I'll finish. Then Persona 2, and lastly Persona 1.

#623 - Lea/Axel (Kingdom Hearts)
As for the rest (Plushes, figures, necklaces etc.), I'll just list the franchises that I have merch from:
Danganronpa 2 and V3
Five Nights at Freddy's - 22'' Foxy plush
Genshin Impact
Kingdom Hearts
Persona 5 - Akechi figure
Pokémon

Ratchet and Clank - Ratchet plush
Sonic The Hedgehog
The World Ends With You - Joshua figure
(The ones with a small comment next to them are the franchises that I have only one item from. The others have 3 or more)

I love how weird this game is. I still remember how stunned I was when the game went from being a funny and weird dating sim with pigeons to Five Nights at Freddy's 3 (The BBL story). It's unfortunate that most players (that I know of) stop before they reach the "true" story (BBL), which is by far the best part of the game.
I've played the game from start to finish, and gotten all the endings. Then I played its sequel (Holiday Star), which I also completed. It's been years since then. I think my old review was written somewhere around 2015. Good times.

Trapped in the scenario where you have many things to do, try to do multiple things at once, only to end up not getting anything done. But I at least got the paperwork done earlier (before this scenario), so there's that.

I admit that I've never been that interested in his works. His only work that I'm "familiar with" is Dragon Ball. I've read only the first volume of the manga, and played one Dragon Ball game that I got as a gift. I've heard of his other works, like Dr. Slump, but never given them a chance. Even so, his passing is saddening.
Although 68 isn't exactly "young" per se, I still think it's a bit too early. Rest in peace.

Always a pleasure to stumble across a fellow Sonic fan.
Sad to see that you dropped Honkai, although I understand how boring farming materials and artifacts/relics can be. It's not surprising to get a burn-out eventually. I used to play very often when the game was first released. Now I play only every once in a while.
Good luck with Sonic Chronicles. I hope you'll enjoy it more than Sonic Rivals.

Same motivation as continuing an anime: my stubbornness for refusing to "admit defeat". Said stubbornness got me through Ape Escape 2 when I was a kid, and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy this year.
I'm far from being as harsh with video games as I am with anime though, because I don't have a no-drop policy on video games. If I feel like "This isn't worth my time" or if the save data got corrupted, I'll just retire it.

Glad to see that you enjoyed Scarlet/Violet, and weren't put off by the...interesting FPS and glitches. And your review was quite entertaining to watch. (Lexi is adorable, by the way)
Personally, I really enjoyed playing Scarlet, but I can't deny that Gamefreak did make some poor decisions.
I completely agree with you about the idea of having the gym leaders' difficulties being badge scaled, where all gym leaders start at the same (low) level, and then their levels get higher as you get more badges. I think it would've been a better experience for the player if the game was truly open. I understand why they didn't choose this direction, but - if they inteded to have the levels set from the very beginning - they should've just told the player (in-game) the exact order.
During my own playthrough, I (correctly) battled Katy first, and then started to travel towards Alfornada due to this being the closest gym. The Alfornada gym. You know, Tulip. The 7th gym leader. I had no idea that Brassius was the 2nd gym leader. Fortunately, I did bump into a wild pokémon before going to the gym and noticed the high level, so I ended up having to look up a list of the gyms in order. What's funny is the fact that I actually made it all the way to Alfornada with only one badge and level <20 pokémon. Funny, yeah, but I wish they had just marked Artazon (on the map) as the next destination for the gym challenge.
The same thing happened with the Team Star bosses. I ended up battling Atticus before Giacomo and Mela due to the game not telling me which boss was first, which obviously is Giacomo. And since I had just defeated Brassius, my pokémon were going up against Atticus' level 30+ team. Thanks, game :)
I also feel like Geeta is the weakest champion I've ever battled so far, alongside Diantha. Incredibly easy for being a champion, and the only pokémon that was even remotely "strong" was Kingambit. However, when I battled her, she sent out Kingambit far too soon for its Supreme Overlord ability to pose a threat. Hell, even the Team Star bosses were tougher to beat than her. And Giacomo has Kingambit as his ace. (Although, personally, I think Giacomo's Kingamit should've had Supreme Overlord as well, instead of Defiant. Then again, considering that his Kingambit is both his ace and knows Swords Dance, having Supreme Overlord as its ability would probably be a bit much).
I wasn't impressed with Nemona either - both as a rival and as a character. Especially in comparison to Arven, the Team Star members (including Penny) and even her predecessors (Bede, Marnie and Hop). I feel like they could've added more to Nemona's character than just "she's bored of the lack of challenge". I'm glad to hear someone have a similar opinion about Nemona as I have, as most players seem to adore her and - for some reason - consider her to be one of the best rivals.
Will you be doing more reviews for Pokémon games? Just asking, of course. I'd like to watch them.
Anyway, hope you have a nice day.

Well...I don't know about the best, but I can list the games that help me relax.
- Nexomon (Pretty similar to Pokémon)
- Pokémon games
- Project Diva games (Hard mode, not Extreme)
- Sims 2-4, but preferably 3
- Two Point Hospital
- Visual Novels, as a lot of them are basically just reading a book
- Yu-Gi-Oh games
Apps:
- Battle Cats
- Bitlife
- Twisted Wonderland
When I was younger, I used to play Duel Masters (PS2) and SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters (DS) to relax as well. Haven't played either of them in ages though.
I've also heard that Stardew Valley and Unpacking are very relaxing games, although I have yet to play them myself.

Oh, there's no need to apologize. As I stated previously, it seemed like a genuine misunderstanding, and that you weren't actually trying to offend anybody. What was a bit "concerning", however, was that you were outright accusing the game of being transphobic, and that they were making fun of Chihiro being transgender throughout the game, which they most certainly didn't do. I'm confident that they had no intention to offend crossdressers or transgender people.
I use the word "concerning" very lightly here, as it's not concerning at all for a random person writing a review. But considering that you wish to work with this professionally in the future, it's worth pointing out.
I understand that the chapter can be quite rough to play through. After all, it does handle pretty serious topics. At the same time, I also think that the chapter is necessary. There are a lot of people who feel like they don't "fit in" for different reasons. In this specific case, I think it's a good thing for Team Danganronpa to tell their players that sexist gender norms shouldn't matter, and are just harmful to people. There's nothing wrong with being a "feminine" boy or "masculine" girl. And a person shouldn't feel self-hatred, or consider themself "weak"/"not enough" just because they don't live up to gender norms. Because those gender norms are not what define an individual. In Chihiro's case, he was no less of a man than Mondo, Makoto or the other guys. He was simply less traditionally "masculine", which there's nothing wrong with. It's you - and only you - who can decide your own identity. Again, I think this is necessary for the players to hear, as a lot of their players are trying to figure out who they are and what they want in life. And, although Chihiro himself isn't transgender, I think Chihiro - as a character - can encourage the player to become someone who they can be proud of, not what sexist gender norms tell them to be, which is a nice message regardless of the player's gender.
I encourge you to write for the Danganronpa games, if you want to give your thoughts about them, even if your analysis of the story/characters turns out "inaccurate". One shouldn't be afriad of making a mistake, because it's part of the learning process. In order to become good at what you want to do, you're gonna have to let yourself "fail" sometimes (I'd argue that it's not even "failing", as long as you learn from said "fails"). Of course, If you don't want to cover the Danganronpa games, you don't have to. Nobody has the right to force you. What matters is that you're enjoying yourself when writing your reviews. But if you ever wish to just discuss the Danganronpa games, whether it's their cases/trials or their characters, feel free to message me whenever.
I wish you the best, and hope you feel better soon.

Wait, what?
Hold on a second.
Allow me to clarify something about Danganronpa THH: Chihiro is not transgender. He's a crossdresser. And, no, this isn't a fan theory or my own headcanon. This is official information, both in- and outside of the game. You may dislike Team Danganronpa's decision to make Chihiro a crossdresser. You may think it would've been a better idea to have Chihiro be transgender instead. But at the end of the day, that's not the direction they chose.
I understand that people would really like there to be more transgender characters in games (and other media) because there are so few of them, but taking a character who is (officially) a crossdresser, insist that this character is transgender anyway and intentionally keep using the incorrect pronouns is not okay for multiple reasons. Especially when you're accusing the game of being transphobic. Chihiro being a male crossdresser has been addressed in all three main games - especially DR1 and DR2 - where even his own creations refer to him as "Father" and uses he/him pronouns. Even Chihiro himself clarifies that he's a guy three times in School Mode, and that he was only pretending to be a girl. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how it's possible to still mistake Chihiro as being transgender when he outright spells it out for Makoto (and, in turn, for the player) that he isn't a girl, even correcting Makoto when the latter is confused.
(Chapter 2) The second chapter of Trigger Happy Havoc makes it very clear that Chihiro was bullied when he was younger due to him "not being masculine enough"/being "too feminine for being a guy" and started dressing as a girl solely to end the bullying, not because he actually started identifying as a girl. He wasn't struggling because of gender dysphoria. He just wanted people to stop bullying him. The chapter does focus on sexism, gender norms and toxic masculinity - what it means to be "manly" and "strong" - by comparing Mondo (Tall, physically strong and tough - a guy that society would define as a "strong man") and Chihiro (Short, physically weak and sensitive). This is also the reason why Chihiro ended up asking Mondo for help with his training (Granted, it was Makoto's advice, which Chihiro took) - because Mondo was what Chihiro wanted to be: strong. By the end of the chapter, the point was to show that Chihiro is as much of a man as Mondo is, and is ultimately the stronger one between the two of them despite being the opposite of what's traditionally "masculine". Because being strong is more than just physical strength. Chihiro decided to have confidence in himself and eventually reveal that he's a guy to everyone, even if it meant getting bullied for being "too feminine" again. And he died because of Mondo being the one who was actually weak. Both Chihiro and Mondo were suffering from toxic gender norms - where neither of them wanted to be perceived as "weak" - and from self-hatred, but for different reasons: Chihiro's insecurity about being a feminine guy, and Mondo's PTSD and guilt after being the cause his brother's death. Instead of mourning his brother's death and getting professional help with his issues (PTSD, inferiority complex and uncontrollable temper), Mondo instead chose not to do anything about his problems. At least not prior to attending Hope's Peak. Maybe he did get help during his three years there, but couldn't remember any of it. Regardless, these problems are eventually what caused Mondo to black-out and unintentionally kill Chihiro. Had Mondo actually taken care of his issues earlier by getting professional help, Chihiro's death could've been completely avoided. As frustrated as I was with Mondo's decisions when I played the game for the first time, I don't exactly blame him. Because, unfortunately, a man being emotional (a.k.a. being a normal human being) would make people perceive him as "weak". Especially because he holds the title of "Ultimate Gang Leader". And in Asian countries, seeking mental help is not uncommon to be frowned upon, because getting help makes it seem like there's "something wrong with you". It sucks, but it's realistic. Although things have changed since the game was first released (2010) - especially in the west - toxic masculinity still exists and is still a problem. But unlike Mondo, Chihiro managed to find true strength within him to face his insecurities, and the willpower to change.
In short: the chapter focuses on two guys who are suffering from the same thing - toxic masculinity and self-hatred for being "weak", hence the title of the chapter Boys' Life of Despair. This seems to have gone completely over your head because, according to your review, the chapter missed out on tackling sexism, gender norms and why they're bad. They didn't miss out at all. It was right in front of you..
The issue regarding gender norms and toxic masculinity can also be found in the writing of Fuyuhiko's character in DR2, who also is insecure about his image: his height, his...you know...not-so-intimidating-face, the fact that he likes sweets and so on. It also doesn't help that he has the title of "Ultimate Yakuza". So, just like Mondo, he tries his hardest to maintain his image of being intimidating and tough..
I rarely ever write anything when people say/write something that I disagree with, and just mind my own business, because everyone has their own opinions. However, I'm not okay with people - especially in 2023 - accusing Danganronpa of being a transphobic game just because these people themselves either a) can't distinguish the difference between being a crossdresser and being transgender, or b) can distinguish the difference, but choose to be ignorant and "decide" the character's gender themselves.
Being a crossdresser and being transgender are not the same thing. If the author/director/game developer says that their character is a crossdresser, then the character is a crossdresser. Period.
Sure, people can headcanon said character as transgender, but that's not what you wrote. You're stating "Chihiro was revealed to be transgender (male to female)" as a fact, which is false. He wasn't revealed to be transgender. He was revealed to be a crossdresser.
I thought the unnecessary debate about Chihiro's gender ended years ago because of how many times Team Danganronpa has brought up Chihiro and his situation, repeatedly stating that Chihiro is just pretending to be a girl, but alas. Even in 2023, people still incorrectly refer to Chihiro as canonically being transgender when he's literally confirmed not to be one.. That being said, I just wanted to clear it up in case it was a genuine misunderstanding - or if someone who hasn't played the Danganronpa games happens to come accross the review and receives false information.
No, there is no transgender character among the cast of Trigger Happy Havoc (or the other Danganronpa games, for that matter).
No, Trigger Happy Havoc doesn't contain transphobia just because Team Danganronpa created a cis gendered male character who wears a skirt while still identifying as a guy. Or are you saying that crossdressing is transphobic? It isn't. We don't gatekeep clothes. What is offensive, however, is insisting that a person's gender is solely determined by their clothes, even though the person themself state otherwise. I doubt this was your intention though. To me, it seems like a misunderstanding.
Also, just to clarify: this message is not intended to be an angry "How dare you!?" letter to scold you. As an aspiring author myself. I just wanted to correct a misunderstanding within your analysis and bring the implications to your attention. Or, at least what I hope was a misunderstanding. Especially since you write that you analyze writing as a future profession. Because if you had been a professional, and released this exact review, it definitely would've damaged your credibility with people accusing you of "Not actually playing the game", "Forcing your own ideas into a narrative that originally didn't have them" or "Writing woke propaganda". Not because they disagree with your score, but because you clearly missed the point of the second chapter and of Chihiro as a character. This, and also the implications that being a crossdresser must mean that you're transgender because a cis gendered guy can't wear a skirt unless he identifies as a girl. Many writers learn this the hard way. One famous example being Seven Seas Entertainment whose translator did something similar to what you did in your review: writing a male crossdresser as being a transgender woman instead. The differences were that the translator in question was (supposed to be) a professional, the change was fully intentional on their part and the incident resulted in the company having to call the books back and re-release them again with a new translation. (This wasn't even the first time this happened. It's just the most recent one) Naturally, that incident was far worse than a random person writing a review for a game. But considering that you analyze writing for a future profession, I think it's important to keep it in mind. What you could do here is to compare how you perceived the writing and the message with the game developers' actual intention. What are they trying to say? Is the message clear? How do they get their message across? In this situation (Chapter 2 of THH), you can read the explanation I gave and compare it to your own analysis. Why are they so different? How come the intention was clear to me, but unclear to you? (i.e. you're claiming that the chapter missed out on handling sexism/gender norms and why they're bad, while I'm saying that it's the main focus of the chapter)
I sincerely hope that you didn't take my message as some kind of personal attack. I'm not expecting you to make a 180* about THH, and I can't force you to change your mind about the game's writing. It's fully possible that my explanation has no impact whatsoever. Likewise, it's also possible that you'll change your mind as time passes, after getting more experience. But I hope that my explanation about chapter 2, Chihiro and Mondo can at least provide you with a different perspective about the writing of this specific chapter, and that it can be useful to you when writing your future reviews.
Best wishes.

Oh, I love this game. Played it years ago, twice. Both were pacifist runs.
Fantastic soundtrack, charming characters, puns, spider bake sales, a date with a skeleton and snail races. The game has everything.
I only wish the player had the option to save Asriel too, probably by sacrificing Frisk.

Reddit? Toxic? Yeah, sounds about right.
I don't think I've come across a social media platform that's completely safe from toxicity. Of course, some are worse than others (There's a reason why I've been avoiding Reddit and TikTok like the plague. Those two, and Twitter, are known for their "fields of landmines"), but I can't think of one that's free from it. The more popular something is, the more toxic people it's bound to draw in as well.
I'd recommend ignoring them, or just reply with "Good for you" and move on with your day. They're either trolls who want a reaction or outright garbage people, both of which being a waste of time and energy. If their bs gets you riled up, they've automatically won.

Cursed games

Most of my retired games were left to dust simply because I either lost interest or was too lazy to finish them. Out of all games I've played, there are two games in particular that I would describe as being cursed.
The first is Pokémon Emerald. I struggled with this game a lot because my save file kept getting corrupted, so I had to restart my journey from the very beginning multiple times. At first I thought that my DS was the problem, and couldn't play GBA games properly. But my other GBA games worked, saved and loaded perfectly fine. So, it was apparently my copy of the game that was the problem. I eventually managed to beat it. Only once though.
But unlike Pokémon Emerald, I have yet to complete Digimon World 4 on the PS2. Almost 15 years have passed, and I still have no idea what the problem is. My save file wasn't completely corrupted, but it kept deleting my progress. I played the game for hours, saving a lot (because that's the type of player I am). But when I loaded up the game the next day, the game had sent me back, and a few hours had been erased like they never happened. Just...huh? I got tired of repeating my "progress", so I ended up not completing it.
As for games I retired because I couldn't beat them, there's currently only one: Naruto Ninja Council 3 on the DS. I was in my early teens when I played it. There was a stage I couldn't beat no matter what I tried, so I gave up. I haven't touched the game ever since. Both because I don't want to relive the pain, and because I lost interest in Naruto years ago.
