You don't need the Amazon Launcher for most games. Shadow of the Tom Raider and the two Borderlands games are delivered to your Epic Games Store and about half the remaining games are GOG redemption codes. Each month so many of these games are basically free to keep for ever regardless of if you cancel Prime or not.

NUTS - it's a wonderful puzzle walking adventure that anyone who loved Firewatch would enjoy. It's only about four hours long and was the result of a games jam that got rave reviews in raw form. This prompted the creators to make a full game and the visuals are stunning. I highly recommend it.

It has only six reviews currently. One is mine and another is the Auto populated IGN one. Released in 2021 they scored it 70%. I really liked it.

I have been playing the Call of Juarez games (NOT CARTEL! xD) the last few days. I have finished the first 2 and now I am playing Gunslinger. Amazing shooters if you like the Wild West setting.

I found the first two clunky, but fun. I have Cartel lined up to play next (I've heard it's terrible).

I'm afraid I must give up on my replay of Medal of Honor: Airborne, which is a shame. I used to play the hell out of this game on console, but that was over a decade ago. I recently finished watching Band of Brothers and felt a need to play a good WW2 FPS, coupled with the fact that I currently have the EA Play subscription this seemed like a golden opportunity for some nostalgia.

So how does Medal of Honor: Airborne hold up? A lot worse than I thought from a 2007 game. The devs had this unique idea that you can't move while aiming down the sight and instead, the movement buttons change the extent of your lean while aiming down the sight. You can get used to it, but it still doesn't quite right. Also, for some weird reason, the camera just shakes so goddamn much from everything that I was getting kinda dizzy from playing the game. Out of curiosity, I booted up the first Call of Duty (a four year older game from 2003) and the movement was much better there, I would rather replay that.

All in all, the controls and game feel were just really awkward in Airborne.

Luckily for us, Medal of Honor: Airborne Redux exists. This mod revamps a lot from the base game. It fixes the shaky camera, you can move while aiming down the sight, it improves the enemy AI, and all around balances the game (it makes it a lot tougher though, even on easy). As great as this mod is, unfortunately for me, it also increases FOV. It zoomed out the game so much for me that I could barely see shit. And trying to fiddle with the .ini files to customize it just straight-up broke the mod. For others, this mod might work out great, and it is indeed an impressive piece of work, for me, however, it was just a differently uncomfortable gameplay experience.

And then there are the bugs. This game doesn't work well on modern systems. I had to employ a completely different workaround for that.

At this point, I spent hours trying to get the game into working order, fixing issues, and trying to finetune the gameplay. I spent more time doing this than actually playing the damn game! I've reached the point where I was like: Fuck it! A replay is not worth this much trouble!

A damn shame, I really liked this game forever ago, but it seems I better leave those pleasant memories in the past.

Ahhh I sympathise. I spent a chunk of this game in the middle of it hating it and wanting to quit. in the end, I liked it according to my review..?? Perhaps the list of glitches and frustrations in the penultimate paragraph will sound familiar to you.

Finished The Witcher 2. It was excellent. A graphical improvement, but it commanded less awe in the world than the first one despite being an altogether smoother, superior game. The story was good and so were the characters. I chose to side with Vernon Roche for my story.

Combat was difficult to begin with, but once mastered it made the game enjoyable. The side quests were numerous and largely enjoyable, often with consequences, but sometimes no more than an XP grind to boost your character. Naturally the visuals and vistas were good.

I cannot get into any of the GTA games.

and recently I tried Castlevania and struggled. Those whole hack-n-clash genre games I struggle with in general. Although I loved Space Marine (it had some 3rd person shooting in too I suppose)

Just finished Dragon Age: Awakening, the expansion to Dragon Age: Origins. 85.5 hours total between base game + expansion. Whew. Quite a ride. I certainly enjoyed it, but I'm also glad it's over.

I finished Origins and all the DLC about a month ago. It was excellent stuff. A very good game, fantastic story and a great ride.

Thank you...some of them turn up in the Key Givaway thread after I post so I guess people do read it, but you're never too sure. About half the games they giveaway are EPIC and GOG codes. I rarely use the Amazon launcher myself, but given I have Prime already, the free games are just a bonus. Scrolling back through the thread, there's a phat stack of top notch games I've got off them.

Finished - SNIPER: GHOST WARRIOR.

Believe the reviews this game is a terrible piece of junk. Even the intro and outro scenes are inverted on the display. Collision detection that belongs in 1995, awful scripting and a story that is meaningless, poor draw distances in the run and gun sections with added bullet sponge enemies who simply refuse to drop under a fully unloaded clip from 15 yards. They even manage to ruin bullet time if you can believe that. You can read my review for details...you'll have more fun in less time doing that, than playing the game. And as for playing it...just don't.

Is it Dragon Age: Origins? The Witch Hunt dlc I think.

Played in co-op, authentic difficulty and stealth only (or as much as possible). It's full of bugs, but I'd still consider it one of the best co-op games I've ever played. It's really fun game to play stealthy.

Have you played the solo campaign? If so was it still buggy? And was it good or just ok?

Yep. got me looking forward to playing BF4. Just wish the campaigns were a bit longer.
