It is a stellar action horror game. In the genre, only beaten by Resident Evil 4 and The Last of Us 2 in its gameplay. The way they mix up enemies to vary the encounters is excellent. Level design is limited but still kept interesting. For things I dislike: long QTE when monsters grab you or death animations that take forever. I didn't like the stalker enemy near the end either. It shifted gameplay towards a passive style. I thought the story was fine. It definitely took a back seat to the action.Updated 1 Week Ago

Super recomendo!!!

MastapieceAlthough it could have been better if they were more careful with Isaac's PTSD over what happened to Ishimura and to his lost ex. It felt very blunt and Hollywood-ish, like how fast it evolves and resolves over just a few cutscenes. But I liked the general concept of it.
And Ellie was a great addition. It sucks that it's the only game where she shines in the whole franchise.

I think I dropped this because I got bored of the gameplay and story. Chapter 8 is where I stopped and it is the halfway point out of 15 chapters. I might've been closer to chapter 9 than the beginning of 8 but still I will not be going back to finish this.Updated 1.5 Months Ago

The graphics have been slightly improved, and the plot is more interesting thanks to it being more cinematic. Gameplay-wise, there are some problems. I played about 80% of the game on the highest difficulty and eventually got fed up with the scripts. Due to the engine's limitations, the game can't handle more than a few enemies on the screen at once, so there are triggers in certain areas that summon new waves of monsters when you step on them.On the medium difficulty, which I switched to towards the end, you can comfortably move forward without fear of new enemy waves overwhelming you, as you can easily kill them. The game turns into a pleasant shooter with a plot, just like the first Dead Space (it still doesn't even come close to being a horror).
On the highest difficulty though, you have to carefully trigger each script, kill enemies one by one, and save ammo. Difficult? Not at all. Tedious? Definitely. There's also just a high difficulty level, between the highest and medium, but I didn't get around to it. Apart from the difficulty, there are no complaints, but the game didn't surprise me in any way either.

Pros: The action and gameplay in this game took a huge step up and is very epic and fun
The story is quite good in this one
All the pros from the first carry over
Cons:
-Using game pass gives you DLC and it creates tons of problems because the ammo system is dreadful so you will spawn all sorts of ammo for guns you dont even own. it's horrible and almost ruins the game and there's no way to turn it off
-Still overly repetitive level progression
Overall a step up from the first and was quite fun but I'm not sure why they would even need a third based off how this ended.

Fucking relentless. The “Aliens” to the originals “Alien”. Except this still manages to keep the same sense of atmosphere and dread (something I don’t think Aliens does) while going full throttle into action horror. Another amazing experience! Played the 360 game via backwards compat on the Xbox One X - relieved that a 13 year old game still played so well. The 360 era gfx isn't amazing but the design, textures and lighting hold up ok. It's an amazing experience story and pacing wise.
Controls and camera are well designed and serves the game faithfully.
The audio is stunning and adds so much to the mood of THE Dead Space presentation!
Absolute must play.

An excellent follow-up that wasn't afraid to go in a different direction than its predecessor and produced it bravuraly to boot. But despite that, I would still argue that it will never reach the same league as the initial previous installment for me.My reasoning:
The main point behind this, is the overall feel you get when playing both games. DS1 gives you a very specific lonesome feeling, but at the same time, it brings you an inner peace, whilst also showcasing its perfect horror atmosphere, which adds even more depth to the game. Some people aren't too keen on this kind of storytelling and its pace, so they have to blurt out their opinion that DS2 does it much better. However, there is one thing that I strongly prefer over the first game - the overall gameplay. Throughout the years of DS2 development from 2008-11, new mechanics have emerged, and the core game components have been continuously rapidly improved and refined. Yet this game went so in hand with the era that it managed to produce a very satisfying and enjoyable fast-paced action horror game.
To summarize my reasoning in the end, I would say that it hugely depends on your personal preferences.

It's hard for me to pinpoint exactly why this game didn't click for me because I liked the first one a whole lot. I didn't play either of them when they were new so nostalgia isn't really a factor. I don't even take issue with the move towards more of an action game that DS2 takes - the Alien to Aliens trajectory has worked in the past. I'm not so invested in horror to see a step away from that tone as any sign of lacking artistic integrity, but I did find the horror/action balance of the first game to be particularly appealing.Make no mistake, Dead Space 2 is a fun game. It's full of exciting setpieces and solid combat that are paced to thrill the player. That being said, by about halfway through the game I started to think I'd seen all of its tricks. The game takes it self so seriously but I never found the plot to be anything worthwhile, though I suppose some of these mental turmoil projections into the game world were probably fresh when the game came out. Give Isaac a voice or don't, I don't care - but he's a very boring character in this game. By the end of it, I was fed up with repetitive enemy encounters, useless dialogue interruptions, and the needlessly gruesome and violent tone. It's an action game where you blast away aliens, I get it. But I can only see so many cutscenes of human dismemberment, head explosions, and needles descending into eyes before I go past being disgusted and just end up bored. I don't think I'll be revisiting this one. It's certainly not a poorly made game but there's much better times to be had with other games.

Dead Space 2 and I go quite a ways back. My first exposure to the game was at an electronics store where it was being showcased, perhaps to prove that video game graphics had gotten as good as they ever needed to be. My child mind could hardly comprehend that the footage being played onscreen was being rendered in real-time.Not long after, I had my second brush with the game through IGN's utterly disastrous review of it, proving once and for all that professional game journalism was a bad joke. I still wonder why Greg Miller's opening paragraph made it sound like he had lost his virginity to this game. But I digress.
It took me until 2020 to play Dead Space 2, and it truly was all it was cracked up to be. The visuals are stellar, the gameplay is refined to near-perfection, and there's never a dull moment. This is the game that Doom 3 wanted to be. The slow-paced survival horror of the first iteration has been exchanged for fast and furious necromorph-killing fun. Holy ♥♥♥♥ this game is incredible. It controls so well, progresses so seamlessly, and never ceases to impress with its graphics and sound design. I recommend that everyone play this game once in their life.
But here's the catch: I recommend everyone play it in their life just once. After a second playthrough, four years removed from the first, I realized something.
There's nothing more in the game to do.
This is especially true of the PC version, which lacks achievements, but even if we disqualify that, Dead Space 2's lack of replay value stands in stark contrast to its inspiration - the Resident Evil series, which is infinitely replayable and has a wealth of content even after beating the campaign. There are no extras, no incentives for repeat playthroughs. There is a New Game+, but it only further trivializes the campaign. There used to be multiplayer, but to nobody's surprise, EA took the servers down. They're still charging $20 for a game that's thirteen years old though. Stay classy, EA.
My second playthrough was also marred by cracks in what at first seemed like a perfect story mode. The narrative is filled with the kind of technobabble that had me convinced I disliked sci-fi until I watched Blade Runner, and I was left scratching my head as to how some of the environments connected together. The characters are black holes of charisma (even if Isaac's voice actor has one of the best line deliveries in media history), and sometimes I wished there was a 'Shut Up mode' where the brilliant gameplay wouldn't be interrupted by the repetitive story beats. How many times is this ♥♥♥♥♥ gonna freeze the controls to bleat her sci-fi jargon at me when I just want to KILL dammit?
So that's my main issue with Dead Space 2: like rice, it's best when it's fresh, and will never be as good again. That, and how dour the game is. No game that has a Havok physics engine should take itself this seriously. The Dead Space series is to Resident Evil what Marilyn Manson is to Alice Cooper: it's sleeker, heavier and more aggressive, but it's missing the campiness, subtlety and humour that has kept its inspiration bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Marilyn Manson is fat now, okay? Looks like he had one sweet dream too many.
Regardless, it would be unfair to say Dead Space 2 isn't a very good game. For the seven hours it takes to beat the first time, it's absolutely unmatched. I just wish it had held up on a repeat playthrough, or had more to do after you've finished it once. But don't deny yourself the privilege of that one time. Buy this game when it goes on sale. It'll be one of the best fivers you'll ever spend.

Dead Space 2 is a non-stop thrill ride from start to end. In comparison to the original Dead Space which was far more reserved and focused on survival horror, Dead Space 2 focuses far more on an action horror approach. Ammo is no longer in as short supply and there are as many fast-paced set pieces in the game as there are dimly-lit, blood-soaked corridors. But this shift away from survival horror isn’t really a negative in my opinion. In my mind the original Dead Space is more akin to Ridley Scott’s Alien – a slower-paced, dread-filled crawl through a spaceship filled with monsters. And in contrast to that Dead Space 2 is more akin to James Cameron’s Aliens – a fast-paced, action romp which still retains clear elements of horror. Now this comparison isn’t one-to-one, even the original Dead Space was significantly more action-packed than say the early Resident Evil games, but it was still scary in the way it utilised it’s environment and atmosphere to create deep feelings of dread and terror (despite the fact that Isaac could defend himself). And despite all the action in Dead Space 2 this fantastic environmental design is continued on and refined. As I moved through the halls of the Sprawl space station it brought to mind the design of the Nostromo – every inch of the game is filled with world-building. Each location feels believable and we understand how it operates within this science-fiction world. And it knows how to make these environments as tense as possible - flickering lights in the hallways, could it be a necromorph waiting in the shadows or just a trick of the light. It reminds me of Resident Evil 4: you have enough ammunition and weaponry to defend yourself but the sheer speed and intensity with which enemies come towards you creates a sense of horror. Despite this horror, the combat also provides such a rush when defeating these enemies – freezing a necromorph with stasis when their blade is inches from Isaac’s face still has me on the edge of my seat. And that makes it all the more satisfying when you cut off this limb and fire it back at the same necromorph at terminal velocity – this loop of freezing, dismembering and firing is one that never got old for me, especially when you end it all with a nice, crunchy, satisfying stomp to confirm the enemy is truly dead.
Dead Space 2 may not focus as much on survival with its lack of health and ammo scarcity, but the horror aspect has been explored even more thoroughly. It focuses far more on the psychological horror of what Isaac has endured, the trauma he has from the death of Nicole, personified in the horrific image of her which torments him throughout the game. It’s not necessarily scary, but it is unsettling and this kind of PTSD sequence is far more interesting than the usual jump scares or necromorph encounters that could have taken its place. This game also ramps up the gore to far more intense and grizzly levels. It feels a little try-hard or edgy at some points (e.g. killing child necromorphs in the nursery or the infamous eye scene), like the game is deliberately trying to be controversial with its level of violence, but most of the time it takes on a more playful and campy tone, somewhat similar to Sam Raimi’s work. For example, the first time we see one of the Necromorph babies, we watch as a woman encourages the baby to crawl towards her and picks it up in a big cuddle only to explode into a cloud of blood and guts. Now as horrific as this sounds, my first response was to laugh. The developers understand the absurdity of this, and it feels like there is a certain level of slapstick to this moment. I think this more playful tone helps to compliment the more rollercoaster, action-based pacing of this game. One moment it’s scary, the next it’s exhilarating, and sometimes it’s absurd to a comical level.
This rollercoaster tone is Dead Space 2’s greatest asset, and one that could only be afforded by the game’s overly large budget. Not 10 minutes goes by before your thrown into another unique sequence, whether that be fighting necromorphs on a speeding train, hanging upside down shooting enemies (long before The Last of Us did it) or one of the games numerous flight sequences where Isaac is essentially fired out of the airlock and has to thread the needle as space debris hurtles towards him. Now these flight sequences in particular really allow Dead Space 2 and Visceral Games to flex the blank cheque which was provided by EA. There isn’t much player control in these sequences, simply moving Isaac with one stick and controlling his thrust with the other, but the sheer spectacle and production value on display within these sequences elevates them substantially, making it far more than the sum of its parts. Jacob Gellar did a fantastic video on the breakneck tone of Dead Space 2 and I’d urge anyone interested to check it out.....

*Warning: spoilers* Great sequel with just the right amount of change.
After the masterpiece called Dead Space, I was thrilled to see what would come next. When Dead Space 2 was announced, it was one of the few times that I bought the collector’s edition immediately. It came in a nice shiny box with an artbook and, best of all, a toy Plasma cutter with 3 dots of light in it. Epic.
The game itself picks up where the first one ended. You are still Isaac Clarke, that is treated for its declining sanity in a hospital on Sprawl space station on the planet Titan. Then, out of the blue, the Necromorphs attack the station and Isaac starts the second round of fighting for his life, while still in his restrictive clothing that the hospital put on him. I really liked this intro because it made you feel so helpless and vulnerable.
In this game, your mental health is declining fast, and because of this, your dead girlfriend Nicole, that you tried to save so desperately in the first game, but who killed herself when the outbreak started on the USG Ishimura, starts to torment you with hallucinations and even attacks. It is all just an hallucination, but it feels very real.
The rest of the story is kind of the same as the first game, you need to get of the Titan Space Station and, most importantly, stay alive. However, in this game, you also search for the “new marker”, that is apparently in the space station and recreated from the mind and hallucinations from Isaac where he was in the mental hospital by the government on this planet. This thing started the whole outbreak. On your quest, you meet a new character, Ellie, who helps you trough the game and who becomes your new girlfriend later on.
The action is intense and the feeling of the first game is right back. There are, however, more people alive in this game, making you feel less alone and helpless like in the first game.
There are some new enemies introduced in this game and they are even more disturbing than the original ones. You got small kids that turn into bald alien creatures with sharp claws, crawling babies with an explosive tumor on their backs and worst of all, the Stalkers. I found the Stalkers the most annoying enemy in the game. This is mainly because they hide themselves all the time, peek around the corner (in which you cannot murder them), and when you are not looking, they charge towards you, dealing massive damage. You got split seconds to react. Overall, I like the new skins of the Slashers and the added mutations.
The controls are the same and just as fluent as the first game. The game still got the lack of GUI and all your statistics are either on you, on weapons or in your hologram computer.
The graphics are nice but, I did not think it was that big of an upgrade from the previous game. They are also a little bit brighter, and dark places with small beams of light are not present anymore so everything gets less scary. Still, they are nice to look at.
The sound design is still as good as the previous game.
The rest of the mechanics are the same as the first game, you collect some hard cash to buy ammo and health packs in the stores and you collect power nodes to upgrade your gear and health.
The ending of the game is, once again, open for another sequel and like with the first game, you feel that it is not over yet. On one hand, this provides opportunity for a sequel, but on the other hand, I kind of felt that this game should be the last one in the series.
Overall, I had a very much fun with Dead Space 2 and its was a worthy sequel for the first game.

9.2 / 10A game that emphasizes on Isaac mental health and its relationship with The Marker, as builder and destroyer. Meeting other survivors and collaborating with them was a flashback for me, as in Dead Space 1 where our partners were eventually dying. Nicole’s hallucinations helped Isaac overcome his fears and act against The Marker, as feeling as his duty to save Ellie, as he couldn’t save Nicole. The drill escape with Ellie was amazing. The game ends with a defeated Isaac, but mentally stronger, this creates a fantastic ending that makes you go playing the sequel. At least he saved Ellie…
The only and big flaw of the game is the ragdoll of dead Necromorphs, sometimes they go “fidget-spinner” mode and scares the hell out of you, making you think there’s someone behind you, or shoot the already dead ones.

Really really liked this more than the original. First up, melee and stomping are a VAST improvement over the original. Both feel faster, and when it comes to swinging, it's practically a lifesaver if necromorphs are up-close as you can swing to push them away. Stomping feels incredibly powerful, which I find myself using more often when against legless necromorphs to help save some ammo, plus the SFX for corpse stomping feels guttural and crunchy, added with Isaac's swearing makings it so damn satisfying to use. Additionally, items spawn out of necromorphs when you completely kill them, so stomping or swinging is encouraged to be used if need ammo, credits, or healing items. The movement feels much smoother compared to the sluggish feel in the 1st one, as turning feels faster and so right, I didn't even have to adjust my sensitivity.
Kinesis throwing is another improvement. If I recall, you can only slice them, doing some damage with their limbs in the original. Here, it's total impalement that can launch them back and kill them, great if you need to push them back to escape. There are plenty of items to pick up and throw aside from explosive barrels, which include kinesis lamps, javelins, necromorph babies that explode, and acid from Pukers.
New weapons of course, and they feel great to use, but WOW did the Pulse Rifle get a huge upgrade, as it's grenade launcher secondary mode is much more powerful and useful to use against mobs of enemies. The Javelin Gun is great to use for impalement, and Seeker Gun feels so damn powerful to use as a sniper. And of course, the Plasma Cutter, which fully upgraded becomes powerful, especially with it's special upgrade that sets enemies on fire, and will always be my go-to weapon.
New armor sets are included with cool designs and upgrades. Like the 1st game, each time you buy a new set adds a feeling of progression and power when you go from engineer suit to advanced suit.
The enemy variety has been upped as well, including The Pack, Stalkers, Pukers, and much more with different attacks cool design. The Pack are great for the amount of items they drop seeing as they come in... well, packs, and are a one-hit kill. The Stalkers are an interesting as this game is much-more fast pace, yet requires some patience as they hide behind cover, ready to strike. Then, there's the Ubermorph that oddly appears only once, though having to use stasis as it's limbs are chopped while it heals is great way to use it.
Level design is another huge improvement over the 1st game. Much more diverse locations with identity rather than walking around more dark metal rooms that look similar. The Church of Unitology, Daycare, The Concourse, space & return to Ishimura covered in backlight are examples of this. Exploration is quite solid with items, audio and text logs to find. Puzzles are a bit of an improvement, though still a bit too simplistic with "pick up X with kinesis and insert it into Z". And the there's the zero gravity levels that have you floating with a jetpack that offer variety to the levels to change it up. Another example of this is the use of jet tanks that can be used to open doors when shot, or floating around dodging debris.
One addition I even like is having Isaac speak giving him personality giving him memorable badass quotes that make him more likeable. His interactions with Ellie are good, and having the Marker mess with his mind trying to ignore Nicole until he accepts the truth about himself adds a bit of depth to him. I know story isn't what Dead Space is known for, but Isaac's change here is like Ash from Evil Dead. Started as nothing in the 1st, but became a total badass in the 2nd.
Some problems I have are that hacking feels like a pointless addition that added nothing, but just to slow you down. I kept thinking some necromorph was gonna attack while I was hacking but it's been the same ever since. Gets a bit tiring having to do it every time I stumble upon it. Next, power nodes are too easy to find, which made me max out my plasma gun early in the game, perhaps making me a bit powerful than I normally should've. Diana betraying you felt too early for me. It would've been interesting if she was still alive as a three way battle between EarthGov, Church of Unitology, and The Marker.
Overall, this was a damn good horror game. The action has been cranked to 11, making combat more engaging and intense. The level designs are stunning to look at and explore. This game made me like Isaac even more. A lot of people feel as if the horror was lost compared to the 1st game, but I disagree, I think the atmosphere and eeriness is still there even if the gameplay feels improved. Some minor flaws, but nonethless, still great, and perhaps is going in on my top favorites. It's a tossup between this, Signalis or RE: Remake as my favorite horror game.

Dead Space 2 is a master class in atmosphere. Through a majority of the game it is throwing enemies at you giving some basic puzzles but around every corner giving you a small scare to keep hitting your fight or flight instances but around 2/3rds of the way through the game they hit you with a curve ball they put you in a location in which there are no enemies. You can hear them, you think you can see them, but at the end of the day there are zero enemies until you enter a massive room and at least my mind was racing. “There were no enemies before, why should there be any now” and then BOOM. An absolute mastery of the horror genre. Now I cannot give this game a perfect 10 for a couple of reasons. Honestly it does not look great for 2011. I know it was 360, and yeah the expectations were a little older but at the end of the day I expect better considering games that came out 4 years earlier look better than this game. The other aspect that they have in this game is forcing the player to rush to the end of the game. There is the classic Mr. X chasing you in the last level and it makes it more annoying than challenging. I could not find the ammo and health I needed and almost soft locked myself. By allowing the player to find a way to play the game to their comfort level and then forcing them to rush through the ending I think is a poor mechanic. If you wanted to add horror and tension do what you did at the 2/3rds part of the game add an atmosphere and actual Horror not annoying gimmicky mechanics. But that is just my 2 cents. At the end of the day I am giving dead space 2 a solid 8/10 losing points in bad mechanics, and graphical issues, but gaining from Dead Space 1 in atmosphere, item choice, and enemy variety. I do recommend it especially if you enjoy the survival horror/action horror genre.Updated 1 Year Ago

Красивый, динамичный, разнообразный, масштабный, достойный наследник первой части. Атмосфера куда менее гнетущая и пугающая, но это с лихвой компенсируется остальными плюсами. Стрелять очень приятно.Updated 1 Year Ago

further refined the gameplay loop of dead space. really good. more linear than dead space 1. great gameplay flow, only broken for me by the zealot difficulty, more enemy variety, and the little guys give utility to the pulse rifle. it forgoes the exploration aspect of the first game but since it wasn't super developed in the first game this isn't much of a loss unless you were hellbent on that aspect of the original being expanded.Updated 1 Year Ago

Dead Space 2 is the roller coaster ride of the original trilogy. It’s louder, more intense, shorter, and more linear. It’s all gas, no breaks for 8-10 hours basically from the moment you hit start. I think DS2 ultimately plays it a bit too safe but it is a fantastic ride.Pretty much all the enemy types are back from the first with some nice additions like the children and the stalkers. These two in particular really crank up the intensity every time they show up. Dead Space 2 is a fairly challenging game too, as they’ve upped the ante quite a bit here. While I find DS1 to be a bit slower and more atmospheric than RE4, DS2 is even more action-heavy than RE4. Some will prefer this new approach but I’d rather DS2 had more slow moments to build tension. There are a couple new guns to round out the roster but the original guns carry most of the slack. The machine gun and flamethrower still suck and they've added a sniper rifle and grenade launcher, so that's two more guns that are overly conventional, boring, and not very useful. The biggest addition here is that you can fly in the zero-G sections. This was clearly the right call. These sections are awesome, I just wish there were more of them.
The new space station is really cool but this game is painfully linear. The levels will occasionally loop back on themselves like RE4 but it’s never for more than a room and you’re off to the next level to never see this place again. There is some great eye-candy in the space-backgrounds but the sense of place isn’t as good here, especially compared to the DS1 remake. It's hustling you from one crazy action scene to the next. There’s a larger focus on Uncharted-style scripted events here too. A few of these are real showstoppers that will stick with you but these are momentary footnotes.
Overall, I feel DS2 plays it a bit safe. It’s mostly just more DS1 with the intensity cranked up. There aren’t quite enough new guns or enemies to make the combat feel much different and the setting and plot are also overly dependent on the first game. There’s one fan-service part that people love but I’ve always felt this would have been better in the 3rd game. On that note, the failures of the more ambitious Dead Space 3 show that Visceral clearly struggled to go beyond the DS1 formula.
I really hope this game is remade like the first, as giving it the interconnected world and some side content could really make it shine. I always have a blast with DS2 but it never leaves a lasting impression and I’m left with a feeling that they didn’t have enough new ideas. It has some amazing moments but most of it blurs together for me. A good game but I don't feel it's a must-play like the first.
Oh and they added multiplayer :poop-emoji:

Dead Space 2 in my eyes is an example of an excellent sequel. Each aspect of the original Dead Space is built on and improved upon. Not only are the graphics beautifully updated to go along with a vibrant but still eerie setting, but there are man pleasing quality of life changes. Although I greatly enjoyed the majority of this game a major issue I faced towards the end was the massive spike in difficulty. Trying to combat swarms of hostiles while navigating tight rooms and corridors can easily frustrate you and tear you right out of your immersion. Specifically speaking in the final chapter resources are very limited while enemies are plentiful, this can easily leave you in a predicament where you are faced with simply fleeing all opponents. I was faced with the problem of dealing with this games final boss (who is far from a walk in the park even on normal difficulty) with no health packs and minimal ammunition. Although there are many enemies to kill who occasionally drop items , my luck wasn't the best usually spawning ammo for guns I wasn't using in the fight or small med packs. All in all Dead Space 2 is a great sequel full of great moments despite its occasional frustrations.Updated 1 Year Ago

Dead Space 2 is a little short and has one of the most annoying final bosses ever. However, it's the most fun I've ever had being scared shitless by an alarm clock in space.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

While maybe not as good as the remake of the first game (probably due to the remake being released 2 days ago and being super modernized lol) this game is still one of the greatest games I have played. Its still just as scary as the remake, just as fun to play, and has just as good of a story. The only thing holding me back from giving it a 9/10 like the remake is that this game does show its age in a few things, such as the graphics and camera/movement/controls. Besides that however, this is still a great game and a worthy sequel. I cannot wait for the remake of this game, as I can assume it may be just as good, if not even better than the remake of the original! I loved this game :3Updated 1.5 Years Ago

This is one of my all time favorite games, and I usually don't bother with horror games. Dead Space 2 is scary and action-packed, at the same time it tells a story that grips your very heart. Main character Isaac Clarke drives the action and the plot forward, this is his story, he is not only trying to survive, he is trying to come to terms with his guilt from the events of the first game. When I first played the game I found it so refreshing to see a game character really reacting on the events of the preceeding game, and I still do. It gives the story depth, and it motivates him in a better way than the endless missions for other people in DS1. Playing Dead space 1 before 2 is a good thing to do, because it will give you an even more enjoyable run through the second game.Updated 1.5 Years Ago
