This season already had the issuse of too many new characters and this episode only makes it worst by adding even more unneeded new characters on top of that the 400 days characters are here for no reason other then trying to make it seem like 400 days mattered even tho they seem to be kinda out of character here with most of them being more of a asshole then they were even the nice ones like Wyatt and Shel the one character who didn't come across like more of a asshole was Vince who was being uncharacteristically nice for some reason but Wyatt and Shel were the most out of character, i just can't see them being willing to stay in that place based off my choices in 400 days.
This episode's choices when talking also really sucked with like 60% of the time when i got to say something i chose to not say anything because the options sucked and it was almost always better to just not say anything.
And of course Clem is still being a dumb ass like when she was trying to get the radio to Luke and kept looking back at Kenny, like knock that off Clem don't you know how to not act suspicious, luckily for Clem Bonnie's a dumb ass and didn't notice.

Much more linear than previous episodes, little to no character development, makes the villain come off as more clich than previous the episode, the plot just kinda happens, slowly at that, with no say as to what occurs. It also ends up derailing everything that the plot was building up until that point. Weakest of the season, but does leave you wanting more, and interested in what happens next.

The one problem I have with people who argue that games were better 25 years ago is that I spent many of my gaming hours 25 years ago were filled with rage because the games themselves were brutally hard. I mention this because this episode of The Walking Dead, entitled 'In Harms Way', may be the first time a game has made my blood boil, but actually made me LOVE it for that reason. It takes the villain from the previous chapter, makes him front and center, and has him commit such vile acts that he just might actually be the most despicable villain since Kefka (from Final Fantasy VI, back in 1994). Every scene he is in, and there are many, fills you with either terror or rage, and every action you take, as Clementine, has an increased sense of weight than in any chapter before, because not only can failure mean defeat, but both failure AND success can mean intense pain for those around you. Seriously, while this isn't anything like a The World Will End If We Fail type of narrative, but I have never felt such intensity when conducting my actions as a gamer as I did in this game. And the way it ends... let's just say Clementine allows herself to grow up, and when she allows some pretty awful things to happen at the end, I found myself almost pumping my arms in the air for her and the team. This chapter is unparalleled in terms of brutality, not only within its own series but arguably of any game in history, and yet it's hugely satisfying, in the same way that the end fight scene in The Raid was satisfying: It all comes back around again, and the methods used by the heroes to win are enough to satisfy the most blood-thirsty of gamers.

+ Nice art style
+ Great story
+ Great characters
- Slow first third
+ Great final third though, especially the ending
+ Great voice acting
+ Great music
+ Great variety of choices and genuinely difficult ones too
- Still has technical hiccups like occasional freezes
+ Even the gameplay feels better since you can now hold R2 to move faster compared to season one, and the action sequences are much more involved and tense
+ The game harkening back to your choices, even from Season One, is fantastic

It's hard to empathize with the characters when they make terrible choices.

Once again just an incredibly paced story. I think I handed out more hugs than I ever have in a video game. It's far from being as even action packed as the Wolf Among Us, but it keeps the tension at an all time high and when shit hits the fan.....well it gets even better.

Speaking with friends around a campfire, or fighting zombies to save their lives, humanizes The Walking Dead’s cast better than most games characterize their protagonist. My dialogue choices reflect what Clementine and her friends need, rather than what I stand to gain as a player. In Harm’s Way deepened my empathy for characters I’m legitimately worried will die, or worse.

Sometimes, I made choices in hopes that I could stop that from happening. I put others before myself, and that got a lot of us hurt, Clementine included. Maybe these were the wrong choices. I don’t know. I’d rather not think about it -- but I can’t stop.
