I am curious as to why people select unlisted for current games when I am pretty sure its common sense to know what the game is for. Does anyone know why people do this?

That's what it defaults to if you don't select something manually, and I don't know if it's still the case because I haven't done it in a long time, but I know it at least used to add games as unlisted if you clicked the button on the game page or from the search results or places like that, so it'd stay that way unless you went out of your way to edit the entry afterward yourself.

Edit: Along those lines, I've always thought it would be more correct if it said "Unspecified" instead. It's pretty unusual these days that someone submits a time for a platform that really isn't listed and has to come ask for it to be added.

Yes, when you add a game to backlog or complete, the platform defaults to "(Not Listed)"

I can especially understand for backlog, as once you click the "+ Backlog" button on a game's page, you have to then go edit it to add the platform, which I'm sure many people don't do. As for completion, some people either don't notice or don't care. I mean, some people just put "Xbox" instead of "Xbox 360" for games that are 360 exclusive (same for Playstation vs PS3), it is just simple user error. You can only make a site so intuitive.

Some of mine are just from my backlog and I've forgotten to go and edit it like others have said, but I also have another use for it.

Since my backlog also contains games I want to play but don't necessarily own, the choice of platform may come down to whichever is cheapest between PS3 or PC. :)

I have a few games in my backlog that say that mostly because i was adding quickly and forgot to click, once i start playing them I will be sure i add the platform, just to lazy to go through my backlog and fix the ones i messed up on.

I can also imagine that people don't know which system they would play it on. I mean, let's say I see a game I want to play, so I'll add it to my backlog, but I'm not sure if I'll get it for my 360 or for my PC. That could also be a reason why its unlisted in the backlog. When its unlisted in playing/completed, people just forgot to do it I guess.
