SMB3 is the only one I remember having an evil sun.
Also, SMB2 doesn't "feel quite like the rest of the series" because technically it isn't.
The original SMB2 that was developed was deemed too difficult for western release, so they just grabbed another game and replaced the sprites with Mario-universe characters:

Assuming you pickup Xbox Live Gold to do some multiplayer (Halo/Gears) - don't forget to redeem the monthly free games with that Gold service.

Glad I came and read this thread. I enjoyed watching the trailer on Steam, but was bummed the game wasn't on sale.
Turns out, I've already redeemed this game free on PS+ so just need to download it on the PS4.
Looking forward to finally participating in a GOTM.

Work was crazy busy, so hopefully this single completion month will be my low point for the year :)
I was able to make good progress on a few other games though.
April:
09 - Late Shift (XB1) - 04h 08m - First time playing a FMV game, and really enjoyed this. Ended up replaying chapters so that I could watch every ending.

Yoshi's Woolly World (WiiU) - 15h 59m - Enjoyed this platformer at a casual pace, but didn't have a large interest in returning to levels to collect all items.

Posting this super late, but I don't want to be left out :)
March:
10 - Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (XB1) - 08h 53m - I tend to enjoy the futuristic stories, and this one was pretty good. Glad they didn't overdue it with the boost-jump and wall-running.
13 - Hector: Badge of Carnage - Episode 1 (PC) - 02h 48m - Earliest Telltale game I've played, and the crude humor was just great.
14 - Hector: Badge of Carnage - Episode 2 (PC) - 04h 06m
17 - Screamride (XB1) - 17h 40m - Mostly relaxing, fun game until you get to later levels where it becomes fairly difficult to earn all medals.
25 - Yoshi's Woolly World (WiiU) - 15h 59m - Enjoyed this platformer at a casual pace, but didn't have a large interest in returning to levels to collect all items.
31 - Hector: Badge of Carnage - Episode 3 (PC) - 02h 54m

I bought the PS4 version in a "bin" sale for like $7 new, in hopes that it would someday get updates to look more like the earlier E3 promising videos.... I've yet to unwrap the game lol.
Also, can this post be tagged to the game title specifically?

I already have Mad Max on Xbox, and already got Trackmania from a previous Xbox Games with Gold.
Trackmania is a great trial/error game, very frustrating but rewarding as you beat a track and get better times/medals.
You know the game will be punishing when it default has button mappings for 'reset checkpoint' and 'reset track'.
With Sony killing PS3/Vita for PS+, I fully expect them to start delivering larger AAA titles - which they did last month with Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank.

I'll chime in and agree with most all of the comments already said here.
I do have a spreadsheet, though it's not necessary.
If you lose interest in a game and want to play something endless, that's fine, go ahead and play. The ultimate goal is to enjoy yourself.
When it comes to picking a game, take a look at these ideas:
a) Choose the oldest
b) Choose the newest
c) Choose the shortest
d) Choose the longest
e) Use the random button built into the website:

All of those options are doable on the backlog page using the dropdown menus.
You can get more specific by rotating genres (RPG, platformer, shooter).
If you're the type of person that can rotate between games every few nights, then pick a few of the options above to get 3 or 4 games to rotate.
I usually play a short one for a few nights, rotate to a long game for a few nights, then rotate to the oldest game in the queue for a bit.

Picked up Escape Plan (Ultimate bundle) on PSN sale. First time I've caught this game on sale since I started tracking it almost a year ago.

I initially thought this was going to be a MMO like The Old Republic, but after re-reading, I guess it's heavily single-player story driven?
Either way, I'll wait atleast a year before getting exciting about this title. Let's see what it shapes into.

I'm not sure I've cried playing any games, but both The Walking Dead and Heavy Rain definitely "hit me in the feels".
And since you guys briefly mentioned movies, I made the mistake of taking the kids to the theater for both Moana and Coco.
Left the theater from both of those with swollen eyes from crying lol.

Yea, most all of my PC games are older titles as well, but I'm usually running other apps in the background too (Chrome is notorious for eating alot of memory).

Well, 3.5weeks ago I posted the Breath of the Wild & Pro Controller for Switch. Then 2.5weeks ago I posted Mario Odyssey. Last week I finally purchased the Switch console for those goodies. Shipping took awhile, but it's finally here in my hands:

I haven't streamed in awhile, but there's a Twitch link in my profile.
Primarily I've been recording locally to a 2TB hard-drive just to save funny clips/glitches in games.
The PC is a decent mid-range build from around August 2016.
Processor - i5 6600 // Memory - 16GB // Video Card - GTX1060
The load isn't too high on the processor, mainly because I do console gaming 95% of the time.
When I do choose to play a PC game, it's only 1080p resolution and most of my PC backlog games aren't CPU/GFX intensive.
Also, most of the modern GFX card can handle 3 or 4 monitors - I think it also depends on what resolution you have on the monitors.
My three screens are 1080p, so it's not an issue for the GTX1060.
