Is anyone thinking of playing this game when it comes out internationally on February 13th? I know I am! Usually I finish a game and then move on, but Monster Hunter games are so fun that I stick around for a long time. I played MH3U for about 600 hours, and it was tons of fun.
What's so great about Monster Hunter????
It's an action-RPG where you cooperate in groups of up to 4 players to take down huge monsters each with their own attacks and personalities. The monsters do not go down easily, and take teamwork, skill, and patience to fight. Some hunts will last five minutes, while others will be hour long epic showdowns to the death. As a team, you share a pool of three lives, so everyone is usually trying very hard to do their best to stay alive. At your disposal are over a dozen types of weapons, each with its own gameplay and style. If you get bored or stuck using one weapon, you can explore other options such as Heavy Bowgun, Dual Swords, Gunlance that give the game a different feel. The combat is deceptively technical with numerous skills, buffs, items and tricks at your disposal.

I will be playing MH4U as soon as it comes out. I bought my 3DS after MH4 was announced to be 3DS exclusive. That first trailer came out in September of 2011! I had fun in MH3U, but I'm excited to finally get into 4U. I've been playing the demo, but I don't think it's going to hold me over until 2-13.

This game is great. I've been playing nonstop for a week, unlocked my hunter rank, and finished the single player. Bumping this thread now that it's out.

I actually just started it for the first time because of all the hype around Rise. I don’t have a Switch, but I did pick up a copy of 4 Ultimate a while back, and it’s really fun so far! I may be somewhat addicted...

MH4U is amazing! Best monster hunter game ever. Waaay better than GenX. Even better than World. I mean, World streamlined a lot of Monster Hunting (which was needed), but also lost a little bit of the charm in the process.
My favorite monsters are from 4, Nerscylla and Najarala specifically.
