I ended up playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive last night with a friend. We had a very good match, but lost to a superior team. I was surprised, it didn't seem like they were trying very hard, buying all P90's. Apparently this gun is much stronger in the new version of Counter-Strike than it used to be.

I was surprised, it didn't seem like they were trying very hard, buying all P90's. Apparently this gun is much stronger in the new version of Counter-Strike than it used to be.

This reminds me of the old over powered version of the P90 in CS 1.5 or one of the earlier versions. It was a complete monster.

I dunno if you guys ever heard about the game Guns of icarus it seems pretty cool i am thinking of getting it in steam winter sales, if you know the game what is your opinion?

Grahamtams, ever since Steam released the trading card metagame and tied that to Steam level, I appear to be quite the accomplished gamer! I just game the metagame, that's what I'm good at, haha, not the individual games.

No set time yet. I am usually home around 6pm central, or 7pm eastern time and have a couple of hours of gaming in me on weeknights. Lately I have been slowing trying to learn Dota 2, and playing CS:GO with friends.

Starting in just a few short hours, I have 10 days off for vacation! Pretty excited. I will be down for gaming any time. Send a steam message or post in this thread.

PSN users: new Dragon's Crown patch just released that raises level cap from 99 to 255 and adds new dungeons. My dwarf is level 35 and made it to Hard difficulty.

I assume you're referring to Guns of Icarus Online (as opposed to the Guns of Icarus solo only game :P). It's actually quite nifty being part of a small crew in the middle of an airship battle but unless you are playing with friends it can be a bit of a mindless experience. Like the gameplay for an engineer isn't exactly thrilling stuff, you run around the ship hitting stuff with a hammer from time to time, captain pilots the ship and what not, so with pick up groups you tend to just have everyone running for the guns and not really doing their jobs properly. Not saying you don't get good groups from time to time, just that a well coordinated team as usual leads to a better experience. It looks pretty good as well though, and the thing that interests me most about it is their upcoming adventure mode that hopes to see the game turned into a pseudo mmo as you and your ships crew travel around the in game world doing stuff. It has good potential for enjoyment.

P90 is a very good gun in CS:GO. Not as good as the M4 or AK accuracy-wise or damage wise, but it spits a ton of bullets fairly close together at close-mid range, so if you aim anywhere near the head, you'll kill people quite easily with it.

I am rank "Noob" with 2 competitive wins. I would say my personal skill level is lower than most who play competitively, but high enough to help out and get kills. I can't carry a whole team by myself like some really good players can.

I tricked burningsoup into buying CS:GO by dangling a nice sale in front of him. Soon we will have a full team :D

As far as actually playing games goes, I've been debating whether or not to join the party. I have a super weird and constantly changing schedule, and my wrists aren't always up for doing stuff. On the other hand, I have more than 20% of the games on Steam, so there's a good chance I have something in common with any given person, especially if you're trying to find someone to play smaller or indie games without many people playing them. I may not have gotten around to trying them out yet, but I've probably been intending to for the past year or two. Heh.

If that sounds ok to anyone, hit the PM button, I guess.

Ah, well you get an actual rank in competitive after you win a few games. I don't remember how many you need to win to get your first rank.



Here are the ranks. The highest I've gotten to was Distinguished Master Guardian, but then I took a break for half a year and when I came back I dropped down a few ranks. Though I'm higher than stars, I still get paired with them a lot and it is kind of frustrating because they often don't play as a team (like if we say let's go Long A, someone goes into B tunnel alone and dies) or they will constantly push as CTs and get picked off.

I don't mind lower ranking players (I've purposely paired with 1 and 2 stars) as long as they listen to whoever is making calls and play their spot on CT side (some people will randomly decide they no longer want to watch their spot and go hang out somewhere else, unnecessarily stacking one site and leaving another weakened).

Here is a secret I discovered when trying to send a PM to warplink, whose profile also seems to be private: you can still send people PMs using the button next to their posts, even though you can't get to their profile pages to do it from there. I saved both of you the trouble though.

It also just occurred to me that I have a Mumble server, which might be relevant.
