Steam Sale

Steam sale is on. What did you pick up? What's on sale today that has you freaking out?

So far I got Don't Starve, Witcher 1 & 2, and Dead Island Riptide.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon so far, nice discount on it.

That's a great deal, but it still requires Uplay, so I'm sitting it out even though I've been wanting to play that one. I've had nothing but problems with it before and have given up on it at this point.

Either already own the other stuff I want from today or am holding out for better deals because I have too much other crap already. I do not need to get Divinity: Original Sin in early access with the number of RPGs I already haven't had time to play yet. Heh.

Nothing yet! Tomorrow when I get paid I want the Phantasy Star games! All three are on sale :D

Doubt I'm actually gonna get anything this time around. Between my physical games and digital library, my backlog is just too huge. Anything I don't get now I can always get later--and by the next sale the discounts will probably be cheaper too.

I've been very tempted to get DayZ but I don't know if I'll play it enough. Other than that I've got a moderate wishlist that I monitor for deals. I'm hoping Gone Home gets really cheap this time around.

If Portal 2 or some of the Worms games show up on a daily/flash sale, I'll probably get them for my wife so we can play co-op, but other than that I don't have much to look out for.

I noticed some folks are committing the buying games before the last day that are not daily/flash/community choice sales =P
First rule of steam sale, never buy something that is not on one of the above sales until the last flash sale is posted :) And even then unless its dirt cheap don't pick it up unless you intend to play it before the next potential sale (probably winter, seems they are going back to 2 a year instead of 4)
I have a friend who's experiencing his first steam sale, and we kept hammering that into him, as he was looking through the list of games on the sale and wanting to buy them.

I am being good so far on sticking to my wishlist.

I am resisting picking up DYnasty Warriors, if it was under $20 I would...but $25 is to much of a chunk of my steam sale budget, Almost passed up walking dead season 2 because it was $12.49.

With the amount of games in my backlog the deal and the game both have to be really good for me to make the purchase. I've gotten stung with previous sales where I've bought games and not played them, and then they've been cheaper in another sale.

Considering flash sales, weekly deals, bundles and such you can survive without buying anything.

I was browsing through games because I was bored here at work this morning (weekend mornings are ussually dead) and I noticed that one of them randomly had a how long to beat block that linked to this site and gave the times for the different types of playthough, though now I can't seem to bring it up again so not sure what caused it lol.

That sounds like you have EnhancedSteam installed, as it brings in the HLTB times.

ah ok ya, didn't realize that it did that, though I have only gotten it to show up randomly, not on every game. (I installed it over a year ago and only check steam from this computer during the big sales lol)

Got some more goodies... Halo: Spartan Assault was so fun I already beat it!

Only a couple minor things so far. Mostly I've just been completing badges and cycling the summer badge cards as quickly as possible in the first couple days while they were worth 50+ cents each and got me more in return that it took to complete the sets. They dropped a bunch while I was away for the weekend, but they held onto value for longer than I expected so I got a bit more out of them than I thought I would. There are a few actual games I'm potentially interested in (other than the Steam metagame), but I'm doing the usual "hold out for the last day" thing. Go Red Team! Heh.

So far I got The Last Remnant, Saturday Morning RPG, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

I'm only level 3 so I'm not getting any of the Summer Adventure trading cards :( Anyway, go Green Team!

So far I bought the following games:

- To the Moon
- Marlow Briggs

I'm waiting for the following games to go on a proper sale (75% discount or more):

- Contrast
- Child of Light
- Year Walk
- Crysis

The only thing i've bought is the mass effect collection (mass effect 1 & 2)

Love how it doesn't really matter what team you are on, how it just rotates who wins, Though it was going to do that once I saw the green team killing it 2 days ago, but now I am certain.

And then in the end it doesn't really matter, because 30 people out of however many hundreds of thousands means you are not one of the lucky winners anyway.

So far the only game I've grabbed is Final Fantasy VII (-66%) and even that I have on PS1 already. I've been wanting to try out the Steam version though to see what kind of achievements it has.
