Hey EverDred. I was adding some old DLC games to my completed tab for Streetpass Mii Plaza on the Nintendo 3DS and noticed that when I added those games from the Mii plaza they were not classified as DLC because when I add it to my completed tab or any other tab, it does not add a number to the DLC/Expansions but it rather adds it to the Unique games which should not be the case. The name of the DLC's are different in different regions so I'll just name both versions

Streetpass Squad/ Mii Force https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetPass_Mii_Plaza#StreetPass_Squad_/_Mii_Force
Streetpass Garden/ Flower Town https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetPass_Mii_Plaza#StreetPass_Garden_/_Flower_Town
Streetpass Battle/ Warrior's Way https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetPass_Mii_Plaza#StreetPass_Battle_/_Warrior's_Way
Streetpass Mansion/ Monster Manor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetPass_Mii_Plaza#StreetPass_Mansion_/_Monster_Manor
Streetpass Fishing/ Ultimate Angler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetPass_Mii_Plaza#StreetPass_Fishing_/_Ultimate_Angler
Streetpass Zombies/ Battleground Z https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StreetPass_Mii_Plaza#StreetPass_Zombies_/_Battleground_Z

just a question. Does this website have some way that it names a game both the name versions from different regions? For example, Luigi's Mansion 2 is named Luigi's Mansion 2 here in Australia but is called Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon in some countries and when I search both the names up in the sites main search bar for seeing how long games take to beat, it seems to take me to the exact same page whether I type Luigi's Mansion 2 OR Dark Moon but the only difference is the name. Even the same amount of people have listed the game on both versions of the page. The reason I ask is that all of the DLC in Streetpass Mii Plaza is only named by its overseas name, so in Australia, one of the DLC's are called Streetpass Squad but overseas it is called Mii force, and the website doesn't list that, so you actually have to know the name of the game overseas in order to search it up.

I'm not sure where you're supposed to suggest games to be added to the website but there is more DLC here from the same game that I noticed was missing from the site entirely

Games can be edited to add a second title, or alias. It's already the case with your exemple, as per this capture. If you search "luigi's mansion 2" the right game will pop-up. Also, once you add a game to your backlog, you can edit the name to give it a custom title so it shows as "Luigi's Mansion 2" in your backlog if this is what you prefer.

All StreetPass titles are now labeled as DLC on the main StreetPass entry.

I'm mostly a multiplayer gamer, it would be cool to see some features around that. Maybe a LFG feature or more multiplayer stat breakdowns.

We can now use up to three custom tabs which is really cool, I remember asking for it in the past and I've been using all three now so thanks for that!

And now I was wondering if we could get the option to choose the color used by each tab to display the game names, all three custom tab use turquoise and I'd like to be able to differentiate them. They could be pre-chosen for each tab (having orange would be nice and maybe... pink?) or in the options next to each custom tab name input, having another input for the hexadecimal rgb value for each one.

Not that big of a deal but I thought it might be a good idea, in any case I'm glad I can use three tabs now.

Thanks

Is width: inherit needed on the forum img tags? I can't see what it does in practice.

And is there a reason line 109 of main_103.css can't be max-width:100%?

Not sure where you are getting your line counts but 109 has nothing to do with images.

Inherit is there because it allows the image to be it's original size unless it doesn't fit in the window, then the 100% takes over to make it fit (like on mobile).

IMG already has width of 100% for all images on the site, which is generally because they are in containers.

I could make a change to IMG for max-width 100% but I have a feeling that I was worried about unexpected changes on the site at the time. Hard to say, that was years ago.

I'm curious why it even matters? Are you experiencing issues because of it?

The line number came from the Firefox dev tools. I assumed it was the same on your end, but I guess not 🤷

Your explanation of inherit occurred to me this morning, so that makes sense. Thanks. I ask because there was an issue, but also just curious about how and why things work.

The issue is with images in blockquotes. They've never scaled images correctly, as far as I can remember. At least on desktop, they will scale to the width of the quote container, making them larger than their normal 100% size. I got them to render correctly by removing width:inherit and changing width to max-width, but I didn't do extensive testing to see what it might break, so that's why I asked if you remembered why that code was the way it was. Like you say, there's always worries about expected changes...

Site Update

Forum:
- Quote images will now be sized down since the viewing window is smaller than normal. @GamerAim

User > Stats:
- Stats page now has a "Cataloged" option that will breakdown when you added titles to the site. @Mellori
- Titles will be color coded by category and show the date they were added..

User > Playthroughs:
- Playthroughs now has a "View" option. You can choose: List (Default) or Box.
- Box will combined all your playthroughs for games and show the boxart.
- I'm going to say this option is in "BETA" for now. Adjustments will likely be made/needed.
- You can see an example in this screenshot. I've played Abzu 3 times on 3 different platforms.

This could be used as a good way to view an "Owned" list or something like that.

Very nice updates - on the "box" view, is it possible to make the box art link to the game page, same way the Title does? Not essential, but I immediately tried clicking the boxes instead of the title without even thinking about it =)

I second abatage.

Also, the addition to stats, the box view, and the recent talk about DLC makes me wonder if we could get:

1) On our personal Stats page, two rows under "Completions" for "Base Games" and "DLC/Expansions." Sometimes I want to see the number of base games and DLC separately. I like that they are combined, but I'd also like them to be distinct sometimes. So for instance, I can view how many games I beat in 2019 without the DLC (and vice versa).

2) A DLC filter on our playthroughs. With the box art especially, it's a bit jarring because DLC don't always have the best cover images. Similarly, in list view, we might also want game only or DLC only filters.

3) A similar game/DLC filter could also be neat on the Stats page, but I think it's less important there. There only benefit I can think of is that we could view an alphabetical list of our completions filtered by year and game or DLC.

Is there anyway to filter the games list so that it hides games we've already completed?

Do you not use your backlog and completed lists separately? Anything you have in your completed tab will only show up if you click that tab or have multi-list selected. If you put it all in one list, then you'd have to separate them into different lists.

As he only specifies "games list" he could be referring to the search results/front page master list. If for example you were searching by platform, it could be filled with dozens, potentially hundreds of games you've already finished.

House style question.

If a game has been submitted with its Japanese title, but the franchise is better known outside Japan by its English name, should the title use the English title for the series part?

For example, I see 3 Gundam games have just been added/edited under the "Kidou Senshi" title. The series is better known as Mobile Suit Gundam, but these games are Japan only. Some ps2 onwards games carry the English title as well, but these are early 90s games. Of course the English title can be added as an alias, but should this listed as "Mobile Suit" and use the alias for the Japanese title, or does the name on the box itself take precedence?

Of course the search results for "Gundam" will return all the games but "Gundam" is also the English title, not the Japanese. So even these japanese titles are actually using the English term. As for the F91 game, this is actually a movie tie in and the English version of the movie obvious uses the Mobile Suit name.

I know how my explanations are so:
tl;dr. Should all the Kidou Senshi Gundam games actually be listed as Mobile Suit Gundam even if they were Japan only?

I could be swayed either way but I generally put the primary title as the English title and the alias as the Japanese title.
