Quick question: is there a reason log ins aren't saved anymore? After having to update my email, now every time I come to the site (on the same browser, mind), I have to log in, whereas before I would automatically be logged in for however long at a time. Is this just me, or is it a new feature/bug?

Incidentally, I don't see the box arts, either. :S

I also have to log again, both on my PC and iPod Touch...

For box art list, you have to manually choose it in the list options.

You shouldn't have to log in every time. I made some changes to session and cookies so a login was required twice yesterday about 12 hours apart. It may have been the 2 times you visited? Please let me know if that's not the case and you have to continue logging in.

Oh, that would figure, haha.

And thanks Tiamat! I was looking in the wrong place.

Heads up for Everdred:

It looks like PS5 provides historical time played for each game at a system level. We know Sony tracked this data as they have previously released end of year data available to users. Therefore you should expect people to update/add time played for PS4 games that might be considered “out of spec” because it lacks context.

Awesome! That's really exciting actually.

I'm worried that Xbox is going the opposite direction. It used to be that every single game you played had "time played" on the stats page but that is rare these days, even on first party titles.

Every platform should tell you how long you play a game.

Now it does tend to inflate people's times but at least they have some context vs. guessing. Usually you can tell which ones are inflated based on if they have multiplayer modes.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep that in mind when I see them coming through.

That’s exciting! Now I’ll be able to put my times down for PS4 games I played before joining and also not have to worry about starting a timer for most PS4 and 5 games 😁.

Request/suggestion - for the GOTM threads could we get multiple embedded game stats please? E.g. for the triple feature last month DDLC was the only game whose times showed, and this month for Super Mario World only the SNES original is shown, leaving out people (like me) who are playing the 'Super Mario Advance 2' GBA port.

I always start a timer and then if I discover an inbuilt timer in the game after the intro sequence, I will stop it. I don't expect that to change for myself when I get a PS5 for the same reason I don't use Steam playtime.

I don't know if this has been commented before, but I don't understand, why if I log a play of, say, Metroid, and rate it 9/10, when I log another play of the same game, the rating can be selected again.

Can't the rating be shared for any entry of the same game? I know this can be done manually on each one...
If someone logs many plays of a game with many ratings, are these considered as many independent ratings for a game (like many users giving 10/10, etc.)?

While I understand that opinions on a game can vary over time, I also wonder if this could/should be changed? I imagine it would require some work, but I think FlareBlitz raises a good point.

It actually used to be that way many years ago (like 7 years ago) but the playthrough system went through a major overhaul.

The awkward part is dealing with all of the existing multiple reviews.

It's definitely a valid point and something that I consider. At the very least, it currently averages all your reviews so a single user doesn't have additional weight on the rating.

We need a new platform – Famicom Disk System.

Site Idea: It really bugs me when a rating says 7.7 (or something like that) since there is no 100 point rating scale. Can we add one of those?

Might be misunderstanding, so sorry in advance if so, but there is an option to use 100% scale for reviews already. Under profile options on the left near the bottom you can choose your review scale style between 0-100%, 10/10 or 5/5.

We need a new platform – Famicom Disk System.

Problem is FDS is just a medium, there are no hardware differences to separate it from NES (the sound doesn't really count). Case in point, you can play FDS games on an Nes without the FDS.

It would be like separating MSX into Floppy and Rom.

And it's unlikely anyone is going to be choosing to pay FDS versions of games released on cart.

Hey, Everdred. I was wondering if we could get some kind of notifier that we've previously sent a user a friend request and had it declined? Or just that I sent a request at all, so it includes people that accepted and later removed me. Right now, if the request is declined or I'm later removed, it's hard to remember if I've sent one before and I don't want to be rude and keep sending friend requests to people that don't like me, just because I can't remember if I've sent it or not. I'm sure there's people I've probably spammed with unwanted friend requests just because I can't remember if I've been declined or removed, but I really don't know who those people are.

P.S. Sorry to anyone who may have been annoyed or spammed by my memory.

Hi to all. Sorry if it's been discussed already, but I noticed that some DLCs are gone from search results, but their pages still exist (I can find them through Google). For example, if I search for "Blood and Wine" (The Witcher 3's DLC) through the HLTB site, the search returns nothing. But this page still exists:
https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=33660

Another example – DLCs for the Alan Wake game:
https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=321
https://howlongtobeat.com/game?id=322

Is it intended behaviour or some kind of a bug?

I believe it was changed recently in the search where DLCs were off by default.

However, you can change it back to showing DLCs by going to Search Options > Modifiers > Include DLC.
