Hey there Mr. Gameraid, if that's even your real name, Skyrim SE includes the DLC as part of the main story since it's included with the game which counts it as a seperate game. Some people don't know how to use Main+Extras so that's why base Skyrim is said to be longer. This happens often with games that have more than 3k completions, if you want to find a good time just go into the completions tab and look for the average time manually.

I'm going to assume you didn't understand my last post but to clarify, some people put their main+extras playthoughs in the main story category which screws with the average times. People put 100+ hour playthroughs in the main story category instead of the Main+extras category which is why the main story for base Skyrim is 10+hours longer than Skyrim SE. The time for how long games are depends on the user recorded time and then it's averaged out based on those times. The actual story is around 12-15 hours for base Skyrim. As for Splinter Cell and RE4, I don't know.

Would it be a good idea to have a brief description of what you have to do to satisfy the criteria of:

Main, Main Plus and 100%.

This could be community driven just like the rest of the details are in each game, able to to be edited.

For Example for Zelda Breath of the Wild.

Main = Reaching the Credits.

Main Plus = Having completed over 50% of the shrines.

100% = All Korok Seeds and all shrines complete.

I love this site, been using to track games since 2016 and its helped me stick to games and overall have higher discipline, so thank you for that.

Everdred is working on improved labelling of the different categorie but I don't think community selection of requirements is workable for several reasons.

1) The community has different ideas of what passes even for main story. If you take something like Nier Automata, many people think reaching the credits counts as completion but that's only the first chapter and maybe 25% of the actual main story. MGSV has two different sets of credits and the main story is divided into two sections. Thats ignoring that each mission has its own set of credits.

2) Main Plus is intended to cover anything beyond main story. Putting in specific requirements for what point that should be considered enough then excludes times form either category so you end up with people either inflating their main story times, or just ignoring the requirement.

3) 100% can be interpreted as doing everything or just getting all trochievements. In some games you may even have different views on what constitutes everything. Completing all optional dungeons but then missing items contained within them might not be considered 100% by some.

So I don't think you would even get a community concensus in the beginning. Also there are over 40,000 games on the site and even if we assume that 25% of them have enough submissions where it would matter, it seems a bit late to start changing requirements for games with hundreds, if not thousands of completions. And if you do it for newly submitted games then you end up with a two tier scale of usefulness.

I don't know if different criteria would work on specific genre's, like separating arcade and story modes on fighting games but on a per game level i think it's too much complication for basically no gain.

Borderlands (one of the DLC I think) has a fake-out credits sequence XD And Wasteland 2 (and 3?) have credits run prematurely if you do certain things, but they aren't "real" endings and it's assumed you'll reload and not be an idiot.

Anyway, I agree. Plus, it has two additional issues:

1) What happens to completions that don't strictly satisfy a requirement? If you complete 49% of shrines and get 100% of korok seeds in BOTW, is it still Main Story? That's a rabbit hole I don't want to get into for different situations.

2) It creates an expectation for Everdred to vet playthroughs to fit game-specific requirements. Not everyone puts down completion notes, and even those who do might not write everything they did. I mean, they can't always because of the character limit. I don't see why Everdred would create specific requirements that he can't validate. As-is, Everdred's system allows him to vet playthroughs within rough guidelines.

I've had people submit their Far Cry, "just walk away" ending as main story.



I love the thought of being able to describe the categories for each game but it's just not logistically possible.

I didn't think of previous numbers and playthroughs in the equation and how it would retroactively screw that over a bit.

It was more so just me thinking "What do i have to do for Main plus?"

During testing, I allowed anyone from the last 30 days. There were about 25-30 streams and 90% of them were non-English speaking.

Only English, probably for the long run.

That's true for the internet in general. One third of all users are German, another third are undercover Germans speaking English and the last third are other nationalities. Basically the internet is Germans speaking English with each other.

This was a big surprise to my co-workers. Only around 30% is from the US, it's a very international site by accident. I think it's really awesome.
