Fixed, thanks.

Not sure I would consider Newgrounds or Kongregate as storefronts. Do they have purchasable games or passes?

I've confirmed that itch filter doesn't work. I'll push out a fix tomorrow. Feel free to add to any games, it won't be lost. Thanks everyone who reported.

EDIT:
Code officially updated, will push to public in the morning. (12 hours from this edit)

Oh man, if only this storefront update came sooner. I already edit the titles of all the games in my backlog with what storefront they're on :P

Only works if you remove the "admin." part.

Also for some reason I can't set my games to Physical. I save it but in my list it doesn't show up, like it's not actually saved.

I've tried editing some of my games to add a storefront but whenever I try to save a game to physical, it clears the storefront dropdown. It seems the other options work, it's just the physical option that doesn't.

Also, what do we do about cataloging games in a compilation or collection? I have a physical of Intellivision Lives for example, should I catalog the individual Intellivision games as physical?

This will be fixed tomorrow morning as well. It works on quick add but not submission page.

On storefronts - seeing as PS+ and GamePass /etc are included, I reckon "EA Play" would be appropriate as it's essentially the same thing.

It's included in GamePass on Xbox, but it's its own thing on other platforms, so basically the same as PS+/etc =)

tl;dr: Not a big deal but it might be a good idea to move the "Storefront selection menu" out of the "additional info" box and make the menu *drop down* instead of pop up.

--
So I love that you've added the new storefront feature, but as I'm updating a few of my lists, it strikes me that there's a bit of a "work flow" issue with its placement. Not a huge issue but might be something worth reconsidering.

The normal input flow is pretty good. You start with the title, move down the page, allocate platform and lists, always moving down adding info towards the submit button at the bottom.

The first thing here is that the store info is trapped behind the additional info box which has to be expanded which feels like an unnecessary click. Not a big issue as you are still moving down the page anyway. From there you descend a bit further, move slightly to the right to expand the storefront list.

However unlike the platform drop down menu, it pops up above the selection. Now to get to the commonly used "My Storefronts" section at the top of the list you have to reverse direction and move back up the page just to hit what should probably be 1 entry below the box. After that you'll want to reverse again, back down to submit, which would previously be on the page, now requires scrolling as it is now pushed off the screen because the additional info box had to be expanded.

It probably seems pretty inconsequential, but it's just one of those things that stands out when you decide to update many entries and find that you're moving all over the screen just to add a few extra details. I suppose the easiest recommendation is just to move the storefront menu into a narrow field just under the Platform menu, or even half the width of the Platform menu and have it share the same "entry tier", side by side.

And I'll just reiterate, definitely not a big issue. Just something that crossed my mind. If others think it's fine that's cool too.

Personally, I think that the Platform section should be half as large and the storefront choice should be where the red rectangle is.

I would also like if the chosen storefront would be displayed here besides the platform.

Yeah that's what I was imagining by "sharing the same entry tier", thanks for illustrating it better.

No, they don't, on second thought it might be better to just add a generic option like "Web game" or "Browser game".

Also, I'm now wondering what to do with games that are freely re-distributable, or open source. There are a handful of games (like Friday Night Funkin', SuperTuxKart, Hedgewars) which can be compiled from source code, or downloaded from Linux distros. The pedantic nerd in me thinks that "Direct Download" doesn't apply here, because it's really more of an Indirect Download. :D

I agree with the first point, browser games should be an option for those that want to use the new storefront organization :)

Two suggestions:
- Some stats for the user's storefronts. Basically the same what's already done for the platforms.
- Playthrough video: Would be nice if you can also insert a playlist there. Currently the playlist-parameter just gets dropped.

Had a question about something I'm personally a bit confused about regarding Completion Date. Should I mark it as the date I completed the game's "Main Story only", or would it make more sense to use the date that I "Main + Sides" or "100% Complete" the game?

For a game where the side content is relatively short or mostly involves finding extras that mostly tread through parts of the main game it feels like it makes more sense to use the "Main Story only" as the completion date, but for a game where a lot of the content takes place within the side objectives, it feels like maybe using the "Main + Sides" or "100% Complete" would make a lot more sense. Sometimes it even feels even both dates would be valuable to have.

I think the intention is that whenever you put in your final time is when you completed it (assuming you put the time in the day you last played it).

I'm really enjoying the new Storefront feature, but I feel like there should be an option for mini-consoles (like NES/SNES Classic, PS1 Mini, etc) as well as flash carts. I have a bunch of playthroughs logged for NES games that I played via my NES Classic. I used to list them under NES, seeing as there was no option for mini consoles before, and it is by technicality, a physical NES and official Nintendo product. But now, if I set the storefront to physical, I assume that to most (if not all) people it would imply that I played a physical cartridge on an actual NES, rather than a digital copy on a physical platform.

It would be an easy way to communicate what mini-console or flash cart you are using, without having to add all of them as separate platforms (for example, Platform: SNES + Storefront: Mini-Console = The SNES Classic OR Platform: N64 + Storefront: Flash Cart = EverDrive 64). And for custom home-arcade owners that have all-in-one cabinets that utilize OS's like MAME, Platform: Arcade + Storefront: Flashcard would be perfect (unless there's already an option for MAME, I'm not sure so apologies if that's redundant). The point is, I think there could be a lot of versatility in an addition like this, especially for those who like to emulate on platforms that aren't their PC.

Also I second this, I feel like it would be a neat addition if you could put down multiple dates for 1 completion. Like I beat Final Fantasy VII Remake back in December of 2020, but I don't plan on getting 100% until I get a PS5 so I can do it on Intergrade. So being able to have the option to put in one date for your main story, and then a separate date for when you complete it would be really helpful, especially when looking back and comparing the difference in time between the two (which could be a feature in it of itself!).

Perhaps a "built-in" or "Plug & Play" option (or worded better), to also accommodate other plug & play type games consoles.

I also considered the question of video game piracy and the like, but then I figured that asking the site to include options specifically to accommodate it might be asking too much. But if Everdred does do it, I'd really like the option to be named "Pirated" ;)

Well, there is an option for Emulated listed under platforms, so it kind of already does accommodate for piracy (at least in a sense).

I'm pretty sure there is also a plug & play option under platforms, but that brings up the question of: what do you consider to be "plug and play"? Actual plug-and-play consoles with original games? Should mini consoles with classic game compilations be treated separately? It's entirely up to Everdread on how to format this, but I do think it's important to at least consider.

Plus it still raises the question: now that the storefront feature exists at all, what do you put down if your platform of choice is a built-in/all-in-one platform? Is it physical due to it being a physical object? Or is it digital because all of the games on it are digital? It's just kind of a weird, blurry, grey area.

But most importantly, would it mean that the SNES Classic is technically an officially licensed physical copy of Star Fox 2?

My head hurts.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, I do have another suggestion: Would it be possible to add the option for us to upload a custom banner to our profiles? The practice of resampling our profile pics might be a bit awkward or strange-looking depending on what your PFP looks like, and even just adding the option to disable the resampled PFP banner entirely would be just as cool. I'll admit, it is a bit strange being greeted by an extreme close-up of my avatar every time I go to log a game, even more so when you consider that a user's PFP is displayed on the top of their profiles anyway. Maybe even consider giving users the option to use their favorite game cover from the entries they've logged (since they already exist on the database). I just think it's a nice way to give users the option to throw a little extra personal flair into their profiles.
