Has it been considered whether to exclude duplicate completions in the Completed counter? That's the one thing stopping me from listing replays, which has its own host of issues. I just don't like inflating my numbers by having Mass Effect 4 times, ya know?

8 Yrs♥$✓#
Maybe make it so you can choose to display your "Playthroughs" counter or your "Unique Games" counter?
I personally don't mind, since for me is more useful to know how many playthroughs I've done in a year (for time management), and knowing how many of these are replays is useful too

Yeah I definitely prefer to have my replays counted towards the total on my profile.

Well, the Completed games total isn't even just for one year, it's for all your recorded completions. A choice would be nice I guess, but one problem I foresee is the profile badges for completions. The badge explicitly says "Completed Over X Games" so IMO it shouldn't include replays, nor would I want it to. There's consistency concerns with users potentially seeing different numbers for the same user or across users. If what I'm saying makes sense.
That said I do like to see my total playthroughs over time which is why I'd like to add replays (e.g. I'm replaying Mass Effect for the 4th time). Just not if it's going to skew perception or count of how many total games I've completed. No matter how many times I play it, Mass Effect is still one game. One beautiful, perfect game :)

Hello, can you please add the platform PC VR on the Edit Details tab?
Edit: Also a remote play option on storefronts would be nice
Edit 2: A storefront called "mod" for mods downloaded from sites like nexusmods or moddb
Thank you!

1. I think that PC VR was phased out in favor of simply PC. You can still record your own completions as PC VR if you like, but game details pages combine PC VR into PC.
2. There's a Direct Download option under storefronts. But I guess if Everdred was going to add mod websites, those are both large ones.

Thanks for the answer, I din't know that the PC VR and the PC details page was combined.
The addition of mod websites would be nice, but the direct download would do the trick too.
I still miss a remote play option for the games that we don't own and we have completed playing on a friend's computer

How would people feel about moving Emulated over to Storefront?
User Marstead brought up the idea and had a good point about how you would never fill out Storefront when using Emulated. Plus, I like the fact that it forces the user to put the native platform.

I personally don't think it makes sense to add Emulation to Storefront. You don't buy games from Emulators (or afaik you don't).
Also, how would it record that kind of entry if the native platform is listed as well as Emulated? Would it disregard the platform and still stat it for Emulated?

I agree it's not really a storefront but I like the thought of forcing the user to mention the native platform and allowing them to still mark as emulated.
It would handle the title the same as it does now for stats.

A checkbox for emulated has been mentioned but I don't want the submission page to get any busier.
There is the option of making an additional platform dropdown appear when emulated is being selected but again, could be cumbersome.
Everything marked Emulated currently would automatically have Emulated as the storefront. You wouldn't be forced to update any previous playthroughs but if you edited one, it would ask for the native platform.

It's how you "purchased", or in this case didn't, the game.

With physical and even borrowed listed in the storefronts I see it as the howyou got the game in which case emulated fits too. I also would like being able to list the native platform at the same time.
Heck, NSO is just emulation really. In its case I like being able to list SNES and NSO together on a game.

Literally-speaking, QueenVakarian is right I think. Emulation isn't a storefront. Emulation doesn't necessarily mean that you pirated the game off some ROMs site, and if you did it would technically be DIrect Download? But, in practice, while it might not be a storefront on paper I think we all sorta know what people mean if they mark it as emulated.
Plus, it's not a platform either, so at least moving it solves the larger issue, like Everdred said. Marking the platform as emulated does more harm to the community than marking your personal storefront as emulated.
In short: I agree with Everdred's proposal.

And yes, with the options for Borrowed, Physical, and possibly Emulated, calling the list "storefronts" is a bit of a stretch. PCGamingWiki uses the term "source" instead of "storefront", which I personally really like, but that might be a bit confusing.

Just submitted an edit for Fantasian since it was marked as being released for PC instead of Mac and that got me thinking, can we change "PC" in the platform selection to "Windows"? Given that Mac and Linux are both options, "PC" would technically cover all those options since it's the computer itself rather than the OS.
"Mobile" also suffers the same issue (and Fantasian as well since it's exclusive to iOS). Currently there's no option to choose iOS vs Android despite some games being limited to one or the other. Would it be possible to break those apart as well?

Like you say, PC is the hardware. Mobile is also the hardware. Platforms is generally for the hardware not the desktop or mobile OS. That's why iOS and Android aren't in the games platforms list.

I'm looking at it from a continuity perspective given what's already there. Hence why I made the distinction of PC meaning hardware. Given the flexibility of what's listed under Storefront, breaking down a few things in Platform to give a bit more clarity to the game page is probably helpful. That's also why I gave Fantasian as an example. If you look at it and see it says "PC/Mobile" that can be misleading as it's not actually available outside of Apple products. Just gives clarity, nothing more.

You can specify Mac/Linux alongside PC for each title - I just checked Fantasian, and if you go to the "edit details" link on the game page, you will find a platform list on the edit page that has Mac available... at least I did when I just looked. If you know that it's only available on Mac, I suggest making the edit, and leaving a comment at the bottom of the edit to let Everdred know that this is the case - even include a link to somewhere that specifies this as a reference point so he doesn't have to search everywhere to verify it.
As for mobile - iOS and Android were combined into Mobile a while ago, and if I remember correctly, it was because there was a lot of confusion in submissions where each different one was being selected by mistake at times (could be wrong, just working off by shaky memory for that one lol). However, when I go to edit a submission for a game, I am able to select iOS and Android from the platform list. This might be because I've used those platforms in the past, so it has my previous platforms listed for me to select, but I couldn't find them when editing a game's details, so I'm not 100% sure why that is. Although, I'm fairly sure that whether I submit a time as iOS or Android, it shows up as Mobile on the game page... but again, I might be a little off with those details.
So perhaps not so helpful with the mobile stuff, but can confirm that PC/Mac/Linux are all individual platforms - they may get aggregated as PC on a game's page to keep things simple, but the separate platforms do exist in the back-end =)

My edit of Fantasian was what prompted the thought of having "PC" become "Windows". Since you can select Mac/Linux as the platform when editing a game page, it would make sense to have Windows listed on its own as well. And my mention of the mobile comes from the same idea on top of exclusivity.
I know that submissions can already have these options (I use them myself), so I'm strictly speaking to editing the game page itself when you look at the "Platform" section. Looking at a game that says "PC" may not be accurate on it's face if you're assuming it's synonymous with Windows - which I understand is commonly accepted.
OR
Mac/Linux could be removed as game page edits and have it be homogenized like "Mobile" to just "PC".
Edit: I realize I've misspoken about submissions. Submissions fall under the same thing as the game page. While yes you can choose the platform you played on, it still lists "Mac/Linux/PC" rather than "Mac/Linux/Windows". So PC is still being used synonymously with Windows at that point. So while the game page theoretically could be homogenized to just PC, the submissions would still be 'mismatched' as it were.

All of which ignores that PC includes DOS games. Thats why we have a single "PC" entry and not "windows". You could also use it to include DOS/V as those can run on multiple Japanese Computer standards (depending on model) as well as the IBM Compatibles as well as the games that self-boot and don't require an OS. One of the reasons I pushed for Mac to be separate was because the previous system was labelling 68000 and Power PC based Mac games as PC and focused on a few years of Intel based macs rather than the 30 year history of the platform. .
And Mobile doesn't just cover iOS and Android, but also "Java" and all the Japanese Galapagos phone games.
It seems to me that the current system is respectful of the histories of the platforms. Fantasian is an Apple Arcade game, therefore it is Mac (macOS), Mobile (iOS, iPadOS) and set top (Apple TV)

Damn, this people played Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2020 years ago. Time travelers perhaps? Seems to happen with other games, only when the review is 10 years or older.
