Just a thought, but what does everyone think about linking sequels/prequels/spin offs to a game, like My Anime List does with anime?
I just did a quick mockup with a game I just finished as an example, excuse my horrid HTML

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

That could be quite useful, but there are some series that could get unwieldy fast. And where do you draw the line between stand-alone and connected enough to be connected? Like Zelda is an ever-growing series but I'd argue most can be stand-alone, but do you still connect there or not? And there's the likes of Metroid where it's always Samus and same world and some direction connections between games. Same with Ys.
Or giant interconnected series like Kingdom Hearts (no idea how many games there now) or The Legend of Heroes Trails series (11th coming out)?
Maybe a long list isn't that big a deal, but it seems like it could get cluttered fast.

hmm good point! But correct me if I'm wrong, LoZ only has a couple of official sequels right? I know MM is a direct sequel to OoT, so on OoT's page it would list MM as a sequel. Or maybe you could just link all the games chronologically.
As for long series, you wouldn't list all the sequels to the first game in a series in one. It'd be like a daisy chain of links. For example KH1 would have KH:CoM listed as it's sequel, then on CoM's page the sequel would be 358/2 Days, then on that page it'd list KH 2 as a sequel, and so on.

Does includes word "Zelda" in name? If yes, is connect. If no, probably is Mario.

If you're talking only the next game then yeah that prevents all issues. I brought up Zelda as an example because I wasn't sure how much of a direct link you were thinking. If only very direct sequels then yeah just OoT to MM really. Maybe Windwaker to PHantom Hourglass I suppose. And the two Oracle games. But that's getting of main topic here.
But the daisy chain sounds easiest to manage on all fronts for sure.

Hello, sorry for repeating myself but can you please add a remote play storefront?
I think it will be a nice addition

What if it was a toggle that could expand/collapse? That would allow some of the more expansive ones (Like Zelda given that almost all games are canon) to list what's part of the universe without taking up a bunch of page space automatically. It could even allow games to be listed in their canon order.
I like the idea, so that's just something that happen to cross my mind. I usually look up games that are part of a series just to see what the first one is so I can try and start there or at least go back and get caught up. Would be really cool to see the game page have this information.
Edit: Quick thought, could even have that toggle exist on the side panel under the picture so it expands that instead of the whole page.

Honestly I like the idea but I just want it to show all the games in the series in release order.

What are you remote playing from? Steam? Luna? That Google one? Xbox?

The Remote Play option from steam, technically the storefront is steam, but I don't really own the game on my library

9 Yrs♥✓#
Remote Play doesn't make it any clearer that you don't own it, does it? And if you think the storefront signifies that you own the game, but you don't own it, then why not leave it empty?

I don't want to leave it empty because I don't want to be any untagged storefront in my completition list and since there is a borrowed option for physical games, I think a "borrowed" option for digital games makes sense

Thinking of it, what do you think about adding a streaming services group under the storefront tab including PS Now, GeForce Now, Stadia, Amazon Luna, xCloud, Steam Remote Play...?

I think thats a great idea! 😃

9 Yrs♥✓#
Well, for one, PS Now has downloadable games, and for another xCloud is Xbox Game Pass (again, downloadable games). In fact, Steam Remote Play is also Steam, which again: downloadable games.
But I do hope Everdred has an idea to resolve this one tiny gray area or can clarify his intentions for the storefronts otherwise because it does pique my curiosity.

I'm trying to figure it out myself. I'm not going to add another category for Streaming at this point. Most of those are already in Subscription.
Storefronts is meant to be a list of places you own and can launch games. Basically, a way to keep track of where your games are. I don't want it to be overly complicated and we basically already have 99% of storefronts that people use. Everything else is a rare use case.
I'm all for adding a catch-all for some of this stuff but it's figuring out the right one. I don't want to have to go back and update a bunch of them in the database, even if it's a simple query update.

How about adding a storefront for Big Fish Games? they have there own launcher as well. I don't personally have any use of the storefront right now but I was thinking about buying Diamond Drop 2 recently so I could have a need for it in the near future.

Also I noticed a slight inconsistency.
the recent completion section in your profile correctly shows your most recently completed games. But than the recently completed tab that appears when you click on your profile pic in the top right shows the most recently updated game from your completed list rather than your most recently completed games. For example, in my profile, it correctly displays that my second most recently completed game was Super Mario Galaxy 2, but in the list shown when pressing the profile pic, it says that my 2016 playthrough of Tomb Raider (2013) is my second most recently completed game even though I completed it 5 years ago.
I took a couple of screenshots but I couldn't figure out how to post it here.

Since I couldn't provide screenshots you can test it by making a slight change in the game details of a game you beat a while back and than clicking your profile pic and reading the recently completed games list.

13 Yrs♥F✓#
That list is showing your Completed games in order of updated last. You just recently updated Tomb Raider (2013), which is why it's shown in that order..

We're just workshopping the idea.
I agree it's not really a storefront but I like the thought of forcing the user to mention the native platform and allowing them to still mark as emulated.
This was posted a few days ago so I don't know if a consensus was already come to, but I very much like this idea.
When looking at time averages for a game I have not played yet (or even a game I have played for that matter), emulated doesn't really give enough information about what platform the times were for. And anyway for all intents and purposes it is the same game as the original platform.

Apologies if that has already been addressed in the past but it would really be great if it were possible to have seperate completion dates for Main Story and for 100% Complete. Right now all my dates are for when I beat the game but most of the time I will only 100% it several days or weeks later (if not even longer)
