Biggest resolution of 2015 is to complete my massive backlog of jrpgs I've been putting off for years. I purchased FFVII, VIII, & IX, Dragon Quest VIII, Suikoden III & IV, some early Tales games, and Chrono Trigger and decided for 2015 I'm going to finally complete these ones.

My gaming resolution is to beat some of my RPG's that i've collected over the years. On steam alone I have about 80 RPG's already. I have only about 6 months to finish my gaming resolution though, so I can't make it a huge one (Such as beat all of the RPG's I have on steam). I'd say if I can beat 10 of them, I'm okay with it. Going to go for 20 though.

May I suggest starting with Chrono Trigger - there is no real need to grind in the game, it has the most engaging story of the games you mentioned (in my opinion), and it's probably the easiest of the games to jump in to, so I think it'd be a good jumping-off point for you.

My goal is to man the fuck up and play the first Silent Hill :D
I've been terrified of it since playing the demo that came with Metal Gear Solid.

Explore more PS1 games - (and actually finishing Tenchu - got stuck on the last mission like 10 years ago...)
Explore more SNES games - get through all the Super Mario games on the All-Stars-collection, try some of the classics I haven't played (Castlevania IV, Super Metroid, Link to the Past etc).
Enjoy all the new exciting releases on my new PS4 - I have Wolfenstein, Alien: Isolation and The Evil Within to keep me busy until then :D
Play through the Halo collection in co-op on my friends Xbox One
Secondary goals:
Trying out some Sega games. Bangai-O on Dreamcast? Perhaps trying the Sonic games? Golvellius?

Sounds like you have a rough year ahead of you. "My New Year's resolution is to play the best games ever made at various points in time." Man, I'm not sure how you're going to make it through this one. Let us know if you overdose on awesomeness or something...

I know I'm two weeks late, but what the hell.
My resolution is not to default to MMORPGs or "idle thumb" games. I have this bad habit of playing games while watching Netflix. Something I can half pay attention to. More often than not these are games I've put a lot of hours into -- Risk of Rain, Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, etc. I'd like to break this habit and play games that I actually engage in.
I've already slipped a few days ago and renewed my World of Warcraft subscription, though I've only played a day of it. I already feel like I wasted my money on that one because I don't have much of an interest in it. I only renewed because I saw my girlfriend playing it and it made me a little nostalgic.
My main goal this year is to start slowly chipping away at my monster of a backlog. I'm about to break 100 games on it and I'm still adding games on here. It's been building up over time and it's to the point now where I can't ignore it anymore.

I have two gaming resolutions this year. To finally finish beating every Castlevania game (almost there), and to beat every Legend of Zelda game.

Ah you remind me of myself several years ago, a backlog building, mmo's consuming my time, that feeling of wasted money as so many games go unplayed. Then I too vowed to drop mmo's (something I've mostly adhered to), but a warning you can't outrun the backlog, you can try but the sales are too tempting!.
I'm just kidding. 100 or so games is certainly manageable, especially if you have a few shorter games in there that don't take too long to complete. As long as you stay focused on it you should get through it eventually.
as for myself I don't really make resolutions but I may as well add something to the thread while I'm here, and I guess I'd like to do something a bit more with my gaming even if it was to stream my sessions on twitch or something just for fun, but every time I've had those kinds of thoughts I get a bit anxious or over think it and then decide it's easier just to play the games and not worry, so maybe I'll find the courage or inspiration to just do something eventually lol.

The number is certainly intimidating for me, because several of those games are 80+ hour games. And you're right -- the sales are awfully tempting. I'm pretty proud of myself, though. I managed to not buy anything during the Christmas / New Year sale.
As for streaming, it definitely is a lot of fun if you have a computer and schedule that can handle it. I try to stream on occasion, but I work nights and no one is really on Twitch at 3AM. I had some of the most fun streaming before I was on this shift. There's a lot of good people on Twitch, especially if you find the right niche.

My 2015's resolution is:
1 - Finish at least 50 games (i started this one bad, finished only 1 game until now);
2 - Finish the game that i'm developing and launch it on steam;
3 - Leave my job and become a full time developer
Bonus: leave my parents house and live by my own!

I still get stuck in the MMO boat, for some reason I just default to a MMO, though lately has been slightly easier due to the fact most of the new ones are not that great lol. With that said I am back in everquest and playing it regularly but trying to control my time in it and sitll clear through games. Though I am stuck in DA: Inquisition and the completion in me going for 100%.

There's a lot of work to be done before the release..

lol, I was thinking that just after I got it. MMOs are a crazy addiction for me. However I still am working on DA:I.
Good thing is after H1Z1 I don't see another MMO in the near future I want until EQ next.

#1 I plan to be more selective. There's no reason for me to have about 600 games I'm either uninterested in, or mildly interesting. Who I thought I was buying for and who I actually am as a gamer have become so shockingly different that it's time to reset.
#2 I plan to care less about beating a game and more about just trying / experiencing it.
#3 I plan to use #1 and #2 to slice down my backlog and get back to core favorites (and mostly stay there).

Started in November 2014 and going on till the end of time: Backlog-erasing with a twist... The "Pick Random"-button chooses the next game.
Another one is to be more patient with Steam sales, to let them go once in a while, or, you know, just once...

Well, since I just joined this site I will thrown out there my gaming resolutions for this year.
1. Play Xenoblade Chronicle X a lot. I have been looking forward to this game and hopefully I will enjoy it enough to put in quite a few hours. However, this game may wreck my overall gaming time...eating into the time I would be able to spend playing through other games...but oh well.
2. Ideally play through 52 games this year. It would be less than last year, but hopefully I will at least get through a few dozen. I guess we will see about that.
3. Although I have played some games before I started my YouTube channel, I plan on replaying them for my channel. A couple of the games that I will be replaying this year will be TellTale's Walking Dead Season 1, Dark Cloud, and Dead Space.
That is about it for gaming resolutions that I think I can probably get through this year. I actually have health issues (disabled Army veteran) so the pro is that I can't work anymore...leaving more time for gaming...but the con is that my health makes it harder to play games at times. Looks like this year will be consumed with several doctor appointments eating into my gaming time also...but whatever...we will see.
