How do you prioritize your backlog?

I play by release date (oldest-newest). When I get burnt out from that I switch to a game series I'm interested in. Right now I'm playing Samurai Warriors 3, After beating Warriors Orochi 1 and 2. I might switch gears and start back up on Dragon Quest VI and continue there.

I base it on whatever I am in the mood for. I try to avoid playing games from the same genre back to back in order to avoid burnout. I try to play a mix of PC and console games so that if my wife is using the TV I can hop on to the computer and make some progress on my backlog.
