I like that last sample. It gives all the information and is easy to read without being clunky.

That's where I'm leaning. It does get a little awkward when you use a power up intermittently or score low on one and implies that you know what it means.

I like 'updated 2' as well - have always wondered though - what would the power up indicators look like if they were the icons instead of the letters?

edit: and maybe an empty box or something for when there is no power up used - for the alignment of results ... along with leading zero on single digits

Yeah, i was experimenting with lightning, UFO, chart for them. Or just a green checkbox ✅ or green x ❎ if you did or didn't use it.

All of them have to be standard so mobile, desktop, etc are all the same.

I find Updated 2 to be the best, as it contains all the information without being too bulky, as Siver already mentioned.

Regarding the symbols of power-ups, I find the solution with the letters (S, P, R) to be the best. With the two proposed options using the green checkboxes or the lightning, UFO, chart , it becomes too cluttered again.

Personally I'd prefer something to indicate what got used per game instead of whether anything got used or not. I just think it's fun to see which power ups people used for which games.

So yes to current letters or icons as opposed to just a check or x

The check marks were live for the reset but I think I prefer the letter too.

I also thought about taking the first letter of each word in the title to shrink it down. I tried ellipsis which was iffy. Just throwing everything at it. lol

yeah after seeing it I agree - the letters work better - and nice to see what was used

for game names could you potentially spoiler tag them? but I guess that will mess with how shareable they are so maybe not...

I like seeing the game names - would still suggest the leading zero (eg 06 instead of 6) for lower numbers to help alignment :)

Forum suggestion:
Sorry if this has already been suggested before, but my suggestion is that instead of placing you on page 1 of the thread by default, it instead places you on the last page, but always displays the original post at the top of the page (no matter which page you are on).

If you are on any page that isn't page 1, there would be a little indicator above the original post that says something along the lines of "original post", and maybe has a little icon aswell, to make it easy to recognise. So for this thread, we are currently up to page 211 because it's over a decade old. When we click on the Site Feedback link in the main forum page, it should take us straight here to the top of this page, which is page 211.

As for posts with not many pages, it should be that it will automatically take you to page 1 if the page count of the thread is 5 or less. You might need to also make it a bit more visually clear and obvious to the reader, that they are on the most recent page though, just to clear up any confusion.

So the changes would be this:
Always show the original post at the top of every page of the thread, and better indicate that it IS the original post.
If the page-count of the thread is equal to, or lower than 5, automatically take the reader to page 1.
If the page-count is greater than 5, automatically take the reader to the latest page of the thread. Also make it a bit more clear that the reader is on the latest page, or they may think they are reading page 1 and be confused as to why the discussion is out of context.

That 5-page theshold can be anything else you want if you deem that necessary. 5 is just my suggestion and seems best to me.
It's always slightly bugged me having to jump to the final page every time I enter this Site Feedback thread in particular.

Also, thanks for making the original date of edited messages viewable. I noticed that was missing quite recently.

What if you are taken to page 1 if the thread is within a certain age. Otherwise, you got to the last page? Like threads with the NEW indicator, however 48 hours is probably not long enough.

EDIT: I look around at a bunch of forums. All of them treat it the same way we do. The OP on every page is common though. Maybe something there. A lot of forums limit messages in a thread too. Like the guess the game would be on its 5th thread by now.

Hmm, I don't think I like that one.

You would have a linkt/button into a thread and it would sometimes put your users on the first or last page, which would have this kinda unexpted behaviour, which would lead to irritation ("Why am I on this page instead of the other one? Previously I landed on the other page!").
Now you would have to explain that "rule" to the user, but I personally I wouldn't know of a good solution to convey this info. If you put it as text somewhere people would ignore it (that happens surprisingly often). A tooltip would be kinda annoying, since everytime you want to click on a thread title, you would have to wait this little moment for the tooltip. And if people know about this rule, there would still be that moment of being like "Alright, will this link lead me to the start or the end of the thread? Let me check the reply number, do the math how many pages there are and check if that is higher than the threshold." Surely as an alternative you can do it time based or show the number of pages, but the users would still have to check that number and remember the threshold, just to know if the thread title would lead them to the first or last page.

Overall I don't understand how this should be better than just using the 'Jump to last page' button on the right side on the screen. Personally I would prefer if those buttons were bigger, so it's easier to click them.

How on earth have I never noticed that "Jump to last page" button? How long has that been a feature?, lol. I would always click into the thread from the main forum page, and than click the last page on the top-right.

In that case, I don't think we need a 5 page threshold anymore to determine which page you are on, and I didn't realise the usability would be hindered.

Although I still think it could be better to show the original post at the top of every page instead of only the first.

I agree with having the original post at the top of every page. It streamlines the forum experience, especially if the thread has had hundreds of replies already

Posted this one before but throwing my hat in the ring again.

I have a couple of suggestions which might be easy enough to implement and are more of a slight expansion on current features.

Firstly I would love to add more modifiers on game searches. I really like the game search filter to pick a new game to play, however I would love to be able to exclude games in my lists (for things I've already completed) and then have a second modifier to exclude DLC also for example. Just an expansion on the filters and advanced searches in general would be great.

Secondly some toggle boxes to add multiple games to a list at once would be handy. For example if I was to search the top rated games and tick a toggle box on the games listed so that I could add all of them at once to a list?

I second this suggestion.
In the past I was against adding reactions but I've changed my mind. I'd just limit it to "positive and minimal".

Like this:
User Image
("I like", "Thanks")

That's a neat way to show that you support someone's idea or would like to thank them, even if you don't want to create an extra post just for that purpose.

Site Update:

User Profile
- I reworked / optimized a lot of code related to user privacy on profile pages.
- Less metadata is attached to private profiles.
- Restricted page redirects are done server side instead of on load.

This is more of an FYI, not a feature drop. Please let me know if you see any funky stuff with user profiles and viewing other profiles.

I don't think that's the best idea, most of the time if I'm updating my password it's because I forgot it.

When I try to edit game information, I always get the error message "500 Internal Server Error". I have tested this on several browsers and devices and get the same message everywhere. Everything else on the website works fine

Edit: It works again.

Would it be possible for the text input for the chat to show two lines of text?

It's a bit annoying to enter text there when you only see 3 or so words at any time.
(edit) I meant: on mobile screen.

Good Morning Everdred and well... everybody!?!?

Just wondered if this is a known issue or if this is the way it's suppose to work.

When I go to my backlog list, and use the sort option, lots of them don't seem to work. For example - Time - Main Story just give me an alphabetical sort.

Also - the fields do no display anything - so for example it I choose "Date - Completed", it is sorted correctly but no date is shows.

Again - this specifically happen on the Backlog list (when I click my name and than "Backlog" under the Games menu). It does not happen for example in the "Completed" list.
