Hello, my name real name is Inderdip Lohtia, I started using this site as far back as 2018 but never wrote reviews or used the forums until 2022ish. I mainly just play games, watch anime and western cartoons and ocasionally read comics and watch live shows. I have been going through a weird quarter life crisis since COVID 19 began and the only way to quell the existential dread is by playing video games and watching anime and doing reviews for them on my blog which I'll link here:
https://civilwarfare101.blogspot.com/2021/08/level-design-analysis-series-1-call-of.html
Going to conventions also quells the existential dread to varying degrees but I am trying to find more in life outside of that, something to do outside of doing the above mentioned stuff. All though I am nervous in doing it.
I do like the vibe of this forum compared to terrible websites like Twitter which I don't have the willpower to completely leave since some people I like talking to on there amid the myraids of ad homienms and tribialism. I recently started using Reddit and that just seems too convoluted to use for my tastes.
I would talk more about myself but other than the questionable and poorly written reviews I see by users on the site that don't even use the forums, I like talking on here.
If there is anything more I like to say is that the way I say my opinions and write my thoughts tend to be technical almost robotic especially the stuff I write now. I try to avoid hyperbole and exaggerate myself when writing my opinions whenever possible.

Hello, I'm Wolfy from Germany. I'm a somewhat shy person, but I enjoy talking about games, anime, and manga, which also reflect my hobbies.
In addition to my hobbies, I am a trained software developer and currently work in web design. Concurrently, I am trying my hand at game development with Unity, although progress is slow, especially due to limited free time.
Furthermore, I create Let's Plays for some selected games from my backlog (all in German). I really enjoy doing this and would like to share it with everyone.
That's about it for now, feel free to ask me any questions for more information.

Hey. I’m Greg. I’ve started using HLTB to check if game I want to play isn’t too long. Starting of recently I prefer games that do not require investing more than 20h but around 10 is the sweet spot. Sure there are some exceptions but I prefer shorter experiences. I love indie games because on ingenuity and freedom of experimenting with form that many AAA titles are missing nowadays (not saying they are bad just keeping it too safe). That’s why I also love Game Pass. We probably won’t meet on any server as I avoid multiplayer games. I spend way too many hours in BF3 and Titanfall 2. If I could change anything in game industry I would bring back couch coop and made moblie market more premium single player games friendly. GL n HF!

Welcome to the site and where is your profile pic from?

Hi everyone!
Just a quick introduction 😁
My name is Vanessa, and I'm from Poland. I'm biochemist and molecular biologist.
I love reading, gaming for fun, eating great food, cats, and other nerdy stuff 🖖
If you want to learn more about me, just write and ask; I'm not good at self-introducing.
It's great to meet you all 🥰 and I hope to have a great time here. (It's been a while since I used any forum)

I can totally relate to rediscovering forums.
The probability of meeting fellow nerds in your workplace is quite low. Anyway, it's my struggle! 😁

Hello, I'm new here.
I'm ArkLur21, I'm from Spain and I enjoy videogames more than any other thing, even if I'm a relatively new player (I have been playing for the last 10 Years)

Funny thing is that I am in my 30s and did not start playing until the early 2000s. While most people I know started with nintendo I started with ps2.

I've been on the site for two years but thought I'd introduce myself anyway :D. I'm ThyReen, 23 years old, I'm from Germany and I've been playing for as long as I can remember. Despite my young age, I have caught up on many games from the old consoles. Unfortunately, I never tracked them :/. I play everything I enjoy, from AAA to small indie games. Currently my main platform is the Xbox series X. I love this site and the community although I'm hardly active in the forum I read almost everything. I'm online a lot and I also like to edit games to keep the site up to date and because it's a lot of fun. Now you know me a little better :3.

Welcome to howlongtobeat and what was your first console?

Hi I am Celicni, living in Serbia, late 20s, have been a gamer for the past 15+ years, in general here to keep track of my backlog, get some advice on clearing it, and having the old forum experience. PC player.
Mostly into retro shooters, although I don't mind trying other genres, mostly enjoy singleplayer games with a good story (my all time favorites Metro series and Spec Ops the line), enjoy games that take at most 30-40 hours to beat, although the sweat spot personally is around 15ish hours.
Hope to have nice interactions with all of you and have a nice day.

Hi, all. I'm Sloth, or you can call me M.D. if you'd like. I'm 35 and work in higher education. I've been a gamer pretty much all my life, starting with my dad bringing home an Apple IIe, on which I played a lot of edutainment games when I was 3 and 4 years old. A few years later, we purchased a Tandy Sensation PC with Windows 3.1, and I inherited my grandparents' Atari 2600 and NES--both of which I still own to this day. I'm big into retro gaming and own every Nintendo home console, every generation of PlayStation, Xbox Series S, Sega Genesis and Dreamcast, and a load of handhelds (GBC, modded GBA, DS Lite, DSi XL, 3DS XL, Game Gear, Steam Deck, Miyoo Mini Plus)... I enjoy playing retro consoles on my 36" Sony Trinitron CRT; for modern consoles, I game on 65" and 55" 4K LEDs.
Over the years, I've accumulated many games (both physical and digital) and hope to start posting blogs here on HowLongToBeat detailing my journey. I have an affinity for turn-based JRPGs, roguelikes/lites, platformers, action-adventure games, and puzzle games. I'm interested in discovering more visual novels after thoroughly enjoying Coffee Talk.

Welcome to the forum!
I just saw that there's a Spike Chunsoft Publisher Sale on Steam going on and remembered about your post. Spike chunsoft publishes plenty of visual novels.
Personal favorites of mine are
Danganronpa 1, 2, 3 and
999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
Also Steinsgate, the Chaos; titles and the other Zero Escape titles have cult status among their fans.

Wait another sale oh my goodenss. These sales are so tempting in march.

Thanks for this! I picked up Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and its sequel. I’ve heard good things about 999 before, so I have high hopes.

There sure are. I would be quite tempted by the Spike Chunsoft sale but I already have some of these titles sitting unplayed or retired early in my backlog (Steins;Gate 0, 428: Shibuya Scramble).

I'm happy there was something in there for you!
I have completed 999 and loved it. I didn't like the sequel too much and retired it but I might give it another shot one day.
Out of the games on sale
I have beaten: Danganronpa 1, Danganronpa 2, Danganronpa 3, Danganronpa UDG, 999, Chaos;Child, Steins;Gate
I have played but retired: Virtue's Last Reward, 428: Shibuya Scramble, Zanki Zero
I own and have not yet played: Steins;Gate 0
I would still like to play AI: The Somnium Files one day.
Btw, this thread might also help you discover good visual novels: https://howlongtobeat.com/forum/thread/2243/1
The Nonary Games for 4.99 Euros is a steal!

Hello! I thought maybe i should introduce myself. My name is Jay, I'm an actor who likes to play games, read, write, and draw in my free time. Unfortunately that free time is very low so actually getting to do a lot of these things isn't always realistic. I've been using this site a lot in the past few years to get an idea of how long a game will take me to play, since actually beating games is something I strive to do! My backlog is horrendous right now because I have a tendency to pick up games in bundles and then never get around to playing any of them... Getting back into forums because I enjoyed them a lot when I was younger, even if I find them intimidating now (it's the anxieties). But I do like to read people's thoughts on all sorts of things, so I'll be lurking quite a bit!

Hi there! I'm The Grey Jinjo. I've used HLTB as a reference site for years now but I figured I'd also use to to log and keep track of all the games I've played.
I play a little bit of everything but my major focus is retro games (platformers especially). I grew up in the N64 era (if you couldn't tell from my name and avatar) and I've been gaming ever since. I also make YouTube videos, write, and make music in my spare time. Always happy to chat about games with people too!
