Hey, not a big deal but I've noticed new posts start out by saying they were posted "1 hour ago," even if you check it within seconds of posting. Not sure if anyone else has noticed.

Not just you, I've noticed it too. I thought I was going crazy, or time-traveling, or that it had always been that way and I just never noticed. :P

This should be fixed.

Small idea, but I was wondering if we could maybe have a sorting option for completions to only show the games counted as "Unique Games?"

PLEASE MAKE A IPHONE APP FOR THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this has been talked about before and we reached the conclusion that it didn't really need to be done, I myself almost exclusively use my IPad for this site and have no issues with it, the site itself runs fine on mobile so i there's no real reason to pour money, time and other recourse into making an app when anyone who wants to access the sites data via a phone already can.

Found an interesting issue.
If I am filling out my completion information for a game/DLC (maybe just DLC pages?), I've noticed that the "Is This Your First Playthrough?" option is not selected. That's not necessarily the bug though. What is the bug is that if you leave this required field un-set, and you have filled out a review that includes line breaks, and hit Edit button to submit- when the error message about the first playthrough comes up, it will also screw up the line breaks in the written review to remove the backslashes - ie. the hidden "(backslash)r(backslash)n" for the line return turns into plaintext "rn" when the page refreshes with the error message.
I assume this would occur if any required object is not set, but I didn't bother trying.

Damn, that's pretty specific.

ohh you're right. I noticed this when writing notes / reviews for a a recent game, I saw the "rn"'s pop up while in the edit screen and thought maybe it was just a compression trick, but I never actually checked how it appeared on the game pages themselves but they are there. I did the same thing as you, attempted submission without allocating the "first playthrough?" option.

Damn, great catch! I have corrected the issue. Thanks for pointing it out.

For some reason the timer adds 18 extra hours to my gameplay time. I started Lands of Lore today and played about 2.5 hours. I added that time in the progress timer and when I updated it the timer in my Playing list shows 20 hours 30 minutes instead. I tried changing the timer to 0 hours and it shows 18 hours now instead.

The "Unique" counter is the total number of your completed games, after factoring out duplicate entries/replays or titles that are part of an episodic game or collection.

My dropdown menu thing says I have one unread message, but I can't see any unreads or new messages when I go into my inbox - either I'm getting a false notification, or there's a problem with the new message showing in my inbox. I'm using chrome on a windows laptop.

It would be neat if quoting someone would actually show their original post.

Have you ever tried clicking on the [replying to CubanPete] part and seeing what happens?

Looks like the "1 Hour Ago" bug affecting the time stamps on forum posts is rearing its ugly head again.

I've tried to create my own thread but I can't atm so:
Is there any way to add HLTB as a search engine in chrome?
For those who don't know, it's a feature that allows you to search directly in a website the string you put. For example, if I have a shortcut for a search engine for... let's say StackOverflow like:

I just have to type in the url bar in chrome: "stackoverflow" followed by a space and introduce the desired text and press enter to search directly inside stackoverflow:

It's pretty neat. It avoids you to write the whole URL, wait till the page loads and then input the search text in it.
I tried using it in HLTB but it seems that the text for the search is sended only via POST, so I can't input the search string in the URL (the "%s" in the stackoverflow example represents the search string).

This site needs a mobile app. Most of the games I play are on consoles so having the ability to access the information with my phone would be much more convenient that having to have my laptop next to me while playing games.

I use DuckDuckGo mostly, and it has a similar feature (except you can't define your own). I just checked if they have one for this site, considering there are several thousand of them, and they do. It redirects to https://howlongtobeat.com/?q=[search term], which seems to work.

Thank you very much! That was exactly what I was trying to find =)

Is the Steam import broken? Using the URL https://howlongtobeat.com/steam.php, it finds my Steam library just fine, but when I change the combo-box on one or all of the games (1000+ is quite a chore... ) and press the button at the bottom, nothing happens and the page is just refreshed as the first time I visited the above mentioned url.
I waited for a day thinking maybe the job was scheduled to run at a later time, but no games are shown in my HLTB account :(
Also tried with Edge browser after being unsuccessful in Chrome. but no luck eiter...
p.s. an option to add all games not played from my steam lib to the Backlog automatically would drastically reduce the effort of changing all combo-boxes!

It took me three years to notice, but I just saw that my completion for this game got lumped in with a completely different game. I have no idea what Tasty Planet is, but the Back for Seconds I played was a rather weird browser game I found back when freeindiegam.es was still around.

Getting the same issue as Ruudgo too! Tried on multiple browsers and no dice on getting my library to import from Steam.

It actually is largely community generated (or by the guy who runs the site before he added the edit function for the rest of us). You can submit times for games that aren't on the site or add them to your backlog. Once there's one submission or two backlogs for it an entry gets created for the game.
