I've been ill the last couple of days and playing Stardew Valley. Does this game have a technical end point after 3 in game years?

Nope, it's pretty much endless.

I've done a bit more reading and I think getting a 4 candle evaluation from Grandpa would count as technical completion.

I'm playing through as well and noticed a lot of people consider building out the community center to be completion. Not sure how I'll log mine yet.

I never liked the idea of endless; anyone tried or want to try DQ Builders? The game's coming in for me today :D

the original "endpoint" was after 2 years, then you got a judgement score with a summary everything you did etc within the story (not naming due to spoilers), however it was VERY hard ending and unforgiving and a lot of people who played 50+ hours felt like they had been wronged and there was a big backlash originally because of this. After the feedback the dev changed it to be a much more "soft ending" where 2 years was probably the time where someone would do pretty much everything there was to do (outside of 100% everything achievements, etc), and you could "redo/reevaluate" the ending, at a later time. Now with 1.5 it probably has more content altogether than what you achieve in 2 years (I am currently in year 4 and still working through the new content).

Summary: "soft ending" after 2 years, but nothing set in stone.

I know this is years old and most likely dead, but yes. After year 3 you get evaluated for "perfection" after which you can enter a previously sealed part of the game and get end credits to roll. Your level of completion prior to end credits is mostly up to you afaik, outside of fulfilling "perfection"

Either the community centre or the Granpa's evaluation but tbh neither felt like an ending since even if you complete them you may not even experience like half of the content (Ginger Island for example) and to me the ending would be 100% completion but that's just me LOL
