What character is your main in Super Smash Bros Ultimate?

I’m sure many of us have been playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate lately. I’m enjoying the game! I was wondering what character is your main in the game? I’m a very casual player and don’t plan to get very competitive. I don’t have much experience with smash other than playing brawl on my wii and smash 4 with my friend on his wii u. So Ultimate is the first time I’m diving deep into he game. I’m personally maining Bayonetta, and Link but i like to play as a few others here and there; sometimes i just play random characters. So, what character is your main?

Surprisingly I've been maining Bowser. Pretty much all of Spirit Battles have been Bowser and only switch to Shulk or maybe Dakr Samus if I'm getting my ass kicked online. I thought it would be Incineroar, Bayonetta, or Cloud. Nope it's Bowser.

I’ve been playing a decent variety of characters, but Zelda is easily my most played so far. I learned to play her last summer in smash 4, so the combination of her being better in ultimate than she’s been in the past and the fact she’s unlocked so early made me gravitate to her and I’ve been having a lot of fun playing her. So I guess she’s my main at the moment.

Some of my other secondaries are Young Link (who has replaced Toon Link, who traditionally has been my main in the past, or at least in Brawl), Lucina, Zero Suit Samus, Roy, and Ganondorf.

I don't really understand the use for a "main" in Smash. They pretty much all have their pros and cons. I'll pretty much play everyone of them, except for Olimar and Jigglypuff, which I can't understand how to play with.

That being said, I played through most of World of light with Marth, only switching out when I wanted to test out a new character. After unlocking Lucina I found my main due to her being a better balanced Marth. The only other character I feel comfortable playing with all the time would be Simon.

At least for myself, I see mains as that go to character you feel the most comfortable with that you play more often than other and the one you’re likely to pick in competitive scenarios. For example when me and my friends would do Brawl tournaments, I would always pick Toon Link, since I knew how to play him well and that I could win with him. A more recent example is the other day my friend picked Donkey Kong for a match, which I know he’s pretty good with, so I picked Zelda (also considered Young Link and Lucina) since I knew it was going to be a bit tougher of a match (he ended up winning).

Also I notice people who are less experienced with Smash tend to stick to one character most of the time. When I first played Melee at my friends house I would almost exclusively play Pikachu. When I first got Brawl I also used Lucario most of the time (I was pretty big into Pokémon at the time) until I began to understand the mechanic better and branch out. I also notice two of my friends who are newer to the game compared to some of my group tend to stick to a single character, which are Captain Falcon and Luigi respectably.

Usually I just pick random, but if I'd have a main, that'd be either Simon, Ryu or King Dedede. And that's only because I enjoy playing these three the most.

I’m new to smash but I’m liking Ness, Ryu and I’m ok with MARIO

I am an upper class citizen who enjoys the finer things in life, so naturally I main Incineroar with a side of Captain Falcon

I also dabble in the fine arts of Ike, Lucina, Olimar (Brawl main), Donkey Kong, and King Dedede.

My rule is, if a character has more than 1 ranged attack, I will never play them. Ain't nobody got time to be a lame excuse of a human being, instead of being aggro. ME SMASH FACE

I'm a super casual player though, so I don't really have an in-depth reason I like her, she's just fun and I love fire emblem! :D

Captain Falcon's probably my secondary.

I'm currently maining Corrin! I'm still on the lookout for a small and a heavy main though. At least so far from the heavier guys Ganondorf seems to do the trick.

I'm sure no one could never have guessed it, but my main is Ike.
I also feel confortable with Link and Marth/Lucina.

Dark Samus, Toon Link, and Joker are my go-to characters in Smash Bros Ultimate.

My 5 Mains in Ultimate are Bowser, Lucina, Villager, Simon/Richter and Terry

Mine was a smashdown random only household, but when was playing competitively for less fun I'd use mega man and min min. Ig I like jumping a lot before landing a heavy smack. I've never mastered either of them but I'm definitely better with them.

My brothers and I we were always random character and stage with no items, and looking back I appreciate that because we became better than the average player but definitely not good enough to play competitively. But if I got Link or Lucario, I was winning!
