Yeah I'm definitely glad I didn't try and rush it either, admittedly I'm not sure when it'll be done at this point since I've underestimated how busy I would be between everything for the holidays and work 😅. But I'm progressing on it slowly but surely. And I have been trying out a few things to try and plan out my time during the day, and after the holidays hopefully I'll get a good balance going where I can get time to work on it at least a little most days like that. Some parts like recording my voice are definitely harder to find time to do, but once I have all the pieces I need the editing usually get pretty addicting and easy to do. And thanks for watching them and glad to hear you say I'm improving, I feel like I have been too! :)

Me: "With the new year approaching I feel a video ranking all the games I played in 2023 should be a fun and quick project to make!" It wasn't quick. But I had fun making it! And here is the video! Hope you all enjoy! :)
This list includes all major games I played last year, from the ones I reviewed already, to the ones I plan to still eventually. And Fortnite is in there too, I don't think I'll try and review it though since its been a very casual dive into the game, but I used this video as an opportunity to talk about it since I started playing it again with my friends again in 2023 and wanted to share my thoughts on it. I think its fun to rank, but it definitely isn't easy, especially when I enjoyed everything I played. Admittedly I immediately knew #12 and #1, but the rest were definitely a lot more difficult and I definitely was surprised with my own thoughts as I made this.
Now that this is done I'll be continuing my work on the Star Wars Jedi Survivor video. I'm not going to try and guess a timeline, since I don't want to stress about it as much as I was about trying to get this ranking one out early in the month, but seeing its already partly done it shouldn't be too long I imagine. Me and my girlfriend finished It Takes Two at the end of the year too so that review will be next after Star Wars! And Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Fire Emblem Engage will hopefully both be finished in the next few weeks too! I think I'm going to try and work on those 3 review videos all sort of simultaneously, since I feel doing the same task (Like writing and recording and editing) are all easier when I do it together, so I'm going to test that out. I've already started my script for It Takes Two though and that's almost done. I'm excited to get these all out and share with everyone! :)
In other news I got a few more games for Christmas! I got Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity and Untitled Goose Game from my girlfriend! I know Untitled Goose game will definitely be a fun short one to play in between games, and once I figure out how to get my 3DS modded to capture video the Pokémon game is definitely high on my list to try out on that! I also got Hogwarts Legacy and Metal Gear Solid Master Collection vol 1 from my parents! Admittedly not in a rush to start those, as I have played the first 3 Metal Gear Solids before, but I know I really want to replay them eventually and also try first two Metal Gears I haven't played. And Hogwarts Legacy certainly looks fun and I've always enjoyed the Harry Potter series, but its one I want to wait to start once I have my other higher priority games finished. I also bought Lethal Company since my coworkers want to play it with me, although that has yet to happen 😅. Looks like fun though!
I'm definitely excited for all the gaming and video plans I have for this new year and to share and talk about it with everyone!

Time for another between video update!
Last week I completed the story for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! I know I want to do more side content and I’m thinking of going for the platinum trophy so not completely done with that yet! But my main gaming focus will be trying to complete Fire Emblem Engage now, definitely in the tail end of that! I did buy Palworld though so that may distract from both of those for a little 😅. It looks like a lot of fun!
Once Spider-Man and Engage are done I’ll finally feel free to continue playing Tears of the Kingdom, and I’m going to hook up my Wii to start Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance too. One of my goals this year is to get at least a completion per month in! Spider-Man was January’s, Engage will be finished in February probably. I imagine Path of Radiance will be the next big game after that, but I might do a smaller game in between if necessary to keep up with my monthly goal! I hope to catch up with my videos too to keep up with my current completions. The drought I had last year definitely helped a bit.
My progress on my Star Wars Jedi Survivor video is going well and it’s almost done! So unless some unforeseen circumstance happens it should be coming out Friday! I originally was going to try and work on my next 3 videos simultaneously but I’m going to dive into the It Takes Two one now right away since I feel it would feel appropriate to aim to have it release on Valentine’s Day. If I can’t reach that goal though then that’s ok, but I think it’s a fun plan! Shouldn’t be as long as my 2023 ranking and Star Wars videos too I think judging from my script.

Finally finished my Star Wars Jedi Survivor review! Started this before my Top 2023 Games but halted to make that. Definitely put more effort than I probably should've for the intro skit but I definitely enjoyed learning for it and making it, so I hope you all enjoy it and the rest of the video too! :)
Got this game in the middle of the year last year as a gift from my girlfriend, and started it soon after! Finished it up in August (Which doesn't feel that long ago yet 😅) and was my last completion before my drought period as I was catching up on my videos. While I enjoyed Fallen Order, I definitely liked this one more and it was a smoother and more fun experience for me!
Dabbled with After Effects for the first time with this one. Its definitely more different from Premiere than I initially imagined but I can see why its useful for effects too. Definitely want to learn more there so its easier for me in the future and it was fun creating the lightsaber effect! Will be fun to return doing that for future videos when I play other Star Wars games! :)
Now that this is done I much closer to being caught up to my recent games. It Takes Two will be my next review video coming up! My goal is to have it done for Valentines Day but not sure if I'll make that. I know sometimes it gets a bit more difficult and I'll stretch myself a bit thin with trying to make my own deadlines, but I like the idea of it too.
Haven't done a lot of gaming since my last post since I've largely have focused on finishing this the past week when I had the free time, so I'm looking forward to continuing finishing up the Spider-Man 2 platinum trophy and Fire Emblem Engage, as well as starting Palworld in the upcoming days.

Been meaning to do an update!
So gaming wise a few weeks ago I got the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 platinum trophy, which was pretty easy! And a few days ago I finally finished Fire Emblem Engage, which I'd been playing on and off since it released. Completing that definitely feel like a weight off my shoulder since it took me forever and it felt like a barrier preventing me from playing other games, especially other Fire Emblem games.
So now that's done I feel I can finally hook up my Wii and start Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance in the near future. I want to play more of Tears of the Kingdom now as well and Palworld. When the Star Wars Battlefront collection releases I'll be playing that too for the nostalgia since those were some of my childhood favorites. Me and my girlfriend also started Sackboy: A Big Adventure together as out next co-op game too! And if Return of the Obra Dinn wins GotM I'll be playing that since its been one I've been itching to try! Now I've typed that all out I realized I'm going to be juggling a lot of different games at once whoops 😅
Also my Jedi Survivor video took off a bit compared to my other videos and is my most viewed one yet with 5.6k views currently! Definitely was a pleasant surprise to see that happen and that people were enjoying it 😊. Admittedly I've not been making fast progress on my It Takes Two video. I had a little side project short I made of Palworld distracting me at first, but then life and my own poor time management have also gotten in the way 😅. I'm making progress though and should hopefully get it done soon, especially since I have a few off days coming up. Hope to get the Spider-Man 2 one done quicker too, especially since I've been getting a head start on a few of the pieces. I can imagine my Fire Emblem Engage video will take me awhile though as I do have a lot I want to talk about that one, maybe even more so than my Pokémon Violet video.
Anyways I think that's everything, and I hopefully next time I post here it'll be with the It Takes Two video review! :)

As per usual took me longer than I planned but my It Takes Two review is here! Hope you all enjoy! :)
Definitely was a really fun experience to play with my girlfriend and it was fun to have her involved in the skit this time too! I definitely ran into a few challenges while making the skit so it wasn't exactly how I initially envisioned it, but it turned out funny to me in the end which was the goal. The rest of the editing went pretty smoothly though and was fun as usual. I definitely have been enjoying playing co-op games with my girlfriend, and I know when Hazelight Studios make their next game we'll be excited to play it!
I'm definitely eager to now dive into my next video with Marvel's Spider-Man 2! Script is done for it, so I need to record my readings of it and record my footage for the skit I have planned then editing should be on its way! My goal is to hopefully catch up on the review backlog I have of my completions so I can start work on the videos the moment I complete a game. Might take some time though since I don't want to pause my gaming and completing games to do so. Regardless I'm continuing to have fun making these and always trying to better figure out how to balance these into my everyday schedule.
I'll be honest, I don't think I've done any gaming at all since my last update a week ago 😅, but I plan on starting Return of the Obra Dinn at some point soon for the Game of the Month. Been itching to play more Tears of the Kingdom too so might alternate between those two for the time being.

Update Time! Definitely have been playing a few games the past couple weeks. Played a little more Tears of the Kingdom, which at first my objective was to head to Goron City, but in typical fashion I did anything but that, exploring some caves, freeing another Great Fairy, and finding a new memory. I also got the new Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, and yeah I was definitely a bit disappointed in the state its released. I tried out both games on it and had more problems with 2 but I had problems with both. Didn't bother trying the online at all but played some splitscreen with my sister. It was fun besides the bugs, but I feel all the problems definitely are inexcusable. I'll delve back into them and play the campaigns when its patched a bit, but for now I'm going to put them to the side since it was just kind of sad seeing how they messed up some childhood favorited of mine like that. Also started Return of the Obra Dinn for Game of the Month and am enjoying it so far! Definitely is intriguing and its fun unfolding the mystery of the ship! I feel I'm bad at discerning who is who so far, but maybe it'll be easier once I get further. Also played Minecraft with my girlfriend and continued building in our survival world we've been playing here and there the past year.
Also I've been thinking of something I may want to try gaming wise. I have so many games in my backlog I've never played and I always feel bad about that. So I've made myself a list of like 44 games in my backlog I want to test out a bit without delving deep and trying to complete them. I feel trying these out will help reduced some of the stress I feel when I look at the list of the games I've never played, and see if they're also ones I want to keep in my backlog to try further, or retire, or put them into my endless list since they're more of an ongoing game without a specific end goal. Not sure when I'll go through these, and probably won't be all at once and I might just chip a few off the list here and there. I may even try and make a video or multiple on the experience.
As for my videos, I've been making slow progress on my Spider-Man 2 video. Its been hard finding time to record my readings for my script due to busyness and when I have time there's noise from my family or in today's case the wind. It doesn't help that my script turned out longer than I originally anticipated, I guess I had more to say about the game than I realized. I have gotten a head start on other things though when I could and already made the thumbnail for this video and the Fire Emblem Engage one! I might start editing what I have recorded already when I have situations like this where I can't record so I feel progress is still being made.
I feel that's most of my gaming and video thoughts of late down now. I feel once I complete Obra Dinn and finish up my Spider-Man video and script for Engage that'll be a good time to start Path of Radiance, which I'm really excited about! Until next time!

Finished my Marvel's Spider-Man 2 review video and I'm excited to share with you all! I enjoyed my time with the game but originally had mixed feeling on how it didn't feel any different, but overtime I became more ok with that and appreciated it for what it was. Hope you all enjoy! :) And would love to hear all of your thoughts too!
Originally I thought it'd be shorter and under the 10 minute mark, but once I started writing I realized I had a bit to say on the gameplay and story, so it ended up being similar length to my Jedi Survivor video! Now I'm going to be moving onto my Fire Emblem Engage review next, which is another I definitely have lots of thoughts on so it'll probably be one of my longer ones and take me awhile to do again. I still have to write my script for that, and I'll probably write my Return of the Obra Dinn script simultaneously since I've now completed that too! I'm definitely getting more of a rhythm down making these but it definitely takes time even though I wish I could get them out faster.
I definitely want to catch up on my reviews though so I think I'm going to sideline my at least 1 completion per month goal for now and just play the longer ongoing games I currently have going plus throwing Path of the Radiance into the mix. Hopefully by the end of April my Engage video will be done and I'll be almost done with my Obra Dinn one. Then I can just happily make my videos as soon as I complete a game!
Besides completing Return of the Obra Dinn I haven't done a lot of gaming since my last update. Played Sackboy once with my girlfriend, but besides that I don't think I really played anything else. Most of my free time has been focused on this video or other things (like taxes yippee). Definitely have had the urge to play more Zelda though so hopefully will do more of that soon!
But I think that's it for now so until next time! :)

Its been a moment 😅. Definitely have been busy lately and went on a trip with my girlfriend a couple weeks ago! But I realized that a few days ago is when I released my first review video and started this blog! In the first year of my channel and blog I've made 12 full videos! (Also two shorts I didn't share here since I felt they didn't fit the blog) That was roughly 1 a month, although not exactly since I know I had my gap when my old laptop started crapping out and other months I'd have multiple videos released. I hope to release even more in this second year, but admittedly already off to a rocky start there since my Fire Emblem Engage video will take me awhile and I'm super behind.
Which my Engage video is definitely going to be my longest so far, as I wrote up an over 18 page script for it, beating out the 12 pages for my Pokémon Violet video. Definitely a bit daunting there, but I'm excited to share it with everyone once its done. My hope is to have it finished before the end of the month, which if things go smoothly I can see happening. However not to get depressing, but my 15 year old dog's health is declining a bit so we may have to make a decision there soon, and I think its going to hit me hard even though I'm trying to steel myself for it for years. Not sure how I'll react as I can see myself either getting hyper focused on the video after that to distract myself or losing motivation for a little bit.
As for gaming I've been playing things here and there. Weirdly Fortnite has been my most played game as of late, as I decided to get the season pass to get the Korra skin, so I've had a lot of motivation to play that to complete the challenges. Its kind of been a nice short burst game too that I can pick up at any point which is what I've been needing lately I think. I honestly might make a video on my thoughts on the game once I finish my completion review backlog up. I've been playing more Tears of the Kingdom on rare occasions too, wish I could play it more but most of the time I don't have enough time or energy for it. Also on the train ride for my trip I started up Lets Build a Zoo again, which was fun, although I feel it definitely takes awhile to get new animals in it so it always feels like the pace of it is slow. Also had to start giving my rabbits contraceptives since they're breeding like... well... rabbits 😂. I've been really wanting to start Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance lately, but either the timing isn't right or not in the mood when it is. Also with all the Fallout hype lately I've definitely been having the urge to play one again, maybe retry New Vegas or attempt the original for the first time.

Its been a bit of a rough past few weeks for me. My dog did end up passing a few days after my last post, it was really hard to say goodbye to her and I miss her so much, it feels a bit empty without her at home. I guess all the stress really weakened my immune system because a few days after that I got a cold that took about a week to go away and then got an ear infection a week ago I'm still getting rid of and its very much messing with my hearing. Its definitely been a lot and I have not handled it well.
Because I lost motivation with my dog passing and then couldn't record due to my cold destroying my voice I'm still super behind on my Fire Emblem Engage video. Pretty much everything I have filmed and recorded is edited together, but there's still a lot I need to record, doesn't help this is my longest video yet. Part of me has been tempted to start the Obra Dinn video to make something quick but haven't gotten to that point yet. I've been not trying to stress about my videos though, a lot happened in a short period. I just miss working on them and releasing them though, I always enjoy sharing them with everyone. My hope is after the Engage video the next few I'll do will be short so I can feel like I'm back on track again, maybe I'll play a few shorter games like Super Mario Land and Untitled Goose Game.
Seeing as I couldn't work on my videos and had a lot of off time due to not being scheduled much and being sick I have actually been gaming a bit again. I had a little streak going in Tears of the Kingdom for a few days where while I didn't make a lot of story progress but explored a lot of the map and did a few side quests, was definitely enjoying that and it made things feel a little better. I also finally started Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance! I think the last chapter I did was Chapter 7 and I'm really enjoying it so far. Even though its the first 3D game in the series it definitely feels a lot like the GBA games in spirit but has some additions that begin to make it feel like the 3DS ones onward, so it kind of feel like the missing link for me (since it is). I know I'm already enjoying it more than Engage and its reminding me of my love for the series so far.
I hope next time I made a post here it'll be with my next video, which I hope that'll be soon but I'm not going to try and make any predictions 😅

So no new video review posted yet but got some updates!
So first off I got a capture card for my 3DS so I can now capture footage of DS and 3DS games! Definitely excited about that, as since I've started my video reviews I've been hesitant to play those as I couldn't capture the footage. Plus it'll come in handy when I want to do Pokémon Nuzlocke videos in the future! With this I now can capture the footage from any game system I have so there's no limitations now! Already going to put it to use too to get footage of the 3DS Fire Emblems for when I reference them in my Engage video!

As per usual I haven't done as much gaming as I'd like. I've played more Tears of the Kingdom and Path of Radiance but haven't made much progress. I started playing Lethal Company too with some coworkers, which has been fun! Not sure if I'd make an individual video on it, or at least not yet, but I think I'll include it in my ranking video at the end of the year at least if I keep playing it more. I actually did have a random completion though last month! I got the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection as a gift from my girlfriend, so I ended up playing the NES Jurassic Park and completing it. Seeing it was fresh on the mind I kind of skipped ahead and made the review video for it already! I'm going to wait to post it though since I want to post my reviews in order still. It'll be nice to have a few steady releases though so glad I got ahead there.
I'm back to work on the Fire Emblem Engage review now, which is definitely a monster of a video and probably will be awhile still. Its does feel nice to have taken a little break to make something quicker though with the Jurassic Park one. I'm hoping it'll be quick to beat the Obra Dinn video too and I want to still beat a few shorter games to have a nice steady flow of completions and videos for awhile before my next big one is completed.
Anyways that's it till next time! Will my Engage review be ready by then? I hope so! I definitely wish I could pump these out faster, but until my life is more stable it'll probably be hard to be consistent. Sometimes I do wonder if I should keep trying to review every completion, as I have lots of other video ideas I want to do, but at the same time I like recording my thoughts on every game and making the videos so I plan to still keep it up as is.

First off, congratulations on getting the capture card, lots of good ones on the ds and 3ds to take advantage of on making videos and taking your time to cherish all of the small aspects of the games to me at least makes a more unique and better video because it feels more thought out and personal experience exclusive to you.
Second, uploading once a month sounds pretty good honestly, just been dabbling in the process myself and feels like a lot longer than a month to get the footage, plan what you're saying and then the time-consuming editing haha. Maybe I'm overdoing it and choosing much longer games but feels much longer than you'd expect to make a video. If you got any tips on what helps you save time then I'm all ears but feels like not much of a rush is needed since it looks like on my end at least you're balancing, work, hobbies and video consistency anyway so no pressure with that. Probably much better to enjoy the process and the games anyway so keep up the good work.

I wish I had some good tips but I feel as I've been going I've been getting more meticulous with details so even though I'm better at being faster in some ways I've slowed as I add more to my process. I guess one thing that helps is since I'm always behind my videos for completions I always have the footage for my next game ready by the time I get to working on it. Although I guess a negative of this I'm noticing as I'm working on my Engage video is I have to really search my footage sometimes to find the clip I want since I can't remember exactly when it happened as its been awhile since then. That was the nice part of doing my Jurassic Park video right after, as it was all fresh in my memory. I feel the struggle will be real there when I eventually complete Tears of the Kingdom, which I've had ongoing on and off since release 😅. I'm thinking I might need to start taking notes of when noteworthy little things happen, as it might help me save time searching. I think as we go, we'll get better in our process though and learn little things to speed things up.
But I agree no matter my speed I enjoy making these. I really enjoy that making these videos lets me really reflect on the experience and also preserve my thoughts and memories of the game.

Looks like we're in a similar situation with getting the footage ready for the next game by the time we're done with the other videos from being behind haha.
Personally I try to record on/off multiple times and I found that helps find clips much easier than trying to find it within a stream like cutscenes before stages, the stage, cutscene after, etc. Just much easier to find especially with the video preview within the file explorer, then I look over them (crop sections if needed), then name them in the method that works for me. In longer games like botw or totk, it benefits more to play the game first at some point to get a better idea on if something is about to happen to getting you ready to record at those points. Honestly games that have an autosave I found harder because if they don't have autosave then you can look over the clips to make sure it looks okay before saving at the next checkpoint so turn it off if possible.
These just happen to be what I found to be more useful so hopefully it helps save some time on your end to help make it easier on you. Best of luck

Still working on the next review 😅, but I have a few gaming stories plus a short video to share today! :)
So start it all off, I ended up running into some technical difficulties with my copy of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. My girlfriend gifted me the game last year for my birthday, and even though its a used copy and some blemishes on it, it had been working great until I reached chapter 14 in the game. I played through the entire level pretty flawlessly and got to some story bits afterwards. A cutscene started playing and then it just cut to a screen saying the GameCube disk could not be read. There was nothing I could do to move past it and I hadn't been able to save since before the level started so I lost all the progress. I sort of hoped it was maybe a one time error so I rushed through the level again only to meet the same fate. At this point I was definitely panicking as this game is definitely rare and expensive and was a really thoughtful gift from my girlfriend, but thanks to some advice from everyone on the Discord I went to my local retro store and they were able to fix the game up the disk for me. It now looks flawless and I was able to progress past the cutscene that kept crashing and can continue further into the game now.
Between them having to close down for a weekend and my work hours it took me about two weeks to drop off the game and pick it up from the store, so during that time I started a couple other games. Now that I have a 3DS with a capture card I was itching to start Pokémon White 2 for the first time, and I'm definitely glad I was recording because I had something pretty wild and kind of unbelievable happen as I began my journey in the game. This game is used too and I've had it sitting in my backlog since I bought it in like 2016 I think, and little did I know it had something sitting within it for me to discover while playing and after it happened I knew I had to make a short video on it to tell the story.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Ty_QPJRbTgo (The usual YouTube link isn't working I guess for this since its a short maybe so had to just URL it)
This short I tried something new by editing in captions as I speak, since I've seen lots of shorts in this style do that. I think it looks alright but I probably could've done better too with it. But for a first attempt I'm happy with how it is. I haven't gotten far into the game either yet and definitely don't plan on using that Dialga, but I'm enjoying it so far and its definitely scratching that Pokémon itch I've been having. It'll definitely provide me with a game I can play in short sittings unlike Zelda and Fire Emblem.
The same day I started Pokémon I also started Octodad: Dadliest Catch on my PS5. My girlfriend was over and we were just having a lazy date and she saw I had this game and wanted me to play it since she loved it when she played it years ago. It was definitely a very short game, as I was able to finish it in just two days, but it was definitely a goofy and fun time! I wrote up the review script for it too already while its fresh on the brain. I think I'm going to wait to put it together though until I finish the Fire Emblem one, as even though I still have a ways to go I'm starting to get some better momentum there now.
That's it for my thoughts and stories today! Until next time! :)
